This is a good book to read when in a reading slump or a palate cleanser between heavy books.
Since I wasn't in either state, I felt a little underwhelmed by the story.
Apart from being ridiculously unrealistic, even in rom-com standards, it was also kind of superficial. Both characters fell in love just because the author wanted them to. There were some cutesy and wholesome parts, hence the 3 stars, but they weren't enough to say they had chemistry.
I think they were better as friends. They cared about each other and both definitely helped the other with their problem, but I think them falling in love was an overstretch.
Some readers might disagree with me and end up liking it, it was definitely a me thing, so I wouldn't say I don't recommend it. It's worth the read.

This was a really cute book and I was really excited about it when NetGalley sent it to me. I love a good fake marriage trope and this one started off strong. This has just the right amount of spice for me where you have a really slow burn and then you know what’s happening without graphic detail. My only complaint is that the time jumps felt really inconsistent and towards the end kept getting longer and longer. It made the ending feel rushed and different from the first 3/4th of the book. I still recommend it and I look forward to reading more from Camilla Isley.

I adored this with every fibre of my being; it was the perfect blend of a marriage of convenience and an opposites-attract romance. It reminded me so much of Marriage for One, which I absolutely loved.
I can’t lie the opening chapter really had me, and I was wondering how this was going to go, and the their unusual meet sick (shall we say) was so uniquely done, I just loved how it set the stage for Rowena and Adrian. The way it all came together was so beautiful, it was easily a 5 star read for me. It’s one of those reads I can definitely see myself coming back to and reading again!!
It had me kicking my feet and grinning like a fool. Rowena and Adrian were everything they didn’t realise they needed in each other, and watching their connection bloom was pure joy.
I finished this in less than a day and it was so good, like so fucking good, omgg— the way I’m just smiling to myself, all emotional, too because it was so freaking sweet.
A quick note: while there’s no on-page spice, the tension and the little moments shared between Rowena and Adrian more than made up for it—they were just so perfect for each other. There is a spicy bonus scene at the end, which I absolutely loved too! All in all, this was everything I wanted and more.

4stars for this book!
From the moment I started it was hard to put down.
Rowena is having a bad day, she recently broke up with her boyfriend, has found out she's pregnant and has just heard the news she's been let go, this sends her racing to the bathroom to empty her insides.
Adrian is hoping for a promotion and has just found out he's not a great candidate because he's not a "family-guy". This, and probably the bad sushi he ate sends also sends him to the bathroom to evacuate his insides.
There, between the stalls he "meets" Rowena and they end up striking a deal. He'll help her out, if she pretends to be his fake girlfriend/fiance for a spell.
Same old faking/marriage of convenience type deal.. eye roll... nuh, uh,uh... now hold on....!
Rowen and Adrian strike a deal and forge a sweet friendship while living together.
Of course, close confines bring individuals together, exposing them and making them vulnerable.
As they carry on their ruse, they can't help but be attracted to one another. Adrian is a perfect gentleman and keeps his distance. Well, you just have to read it to enjoy the rest!
Closed door romance with a super wonderful surprise at the end!
Guys, honestly, don't skip the authors note at the end...ever!!! Haha loved it!
Many thanks to Netgalley, author and publisher for the opportunity to read and share my thoughts.
Oh how I love arranged marriages, especially those that turn out well although, honestly, our hero was a little too perfect to be true, but we did see a couple of old friends again and that's always good too. Now I'm waiting for Hunter and Dylan's story.
I received from the Publisher a complimentary digital advanced review copy of the book in exchange for a honest review.
I really enjoyed this book! The characters were great and relatable and I liked the plot overall! I would definitely recommend!
This is a great book with strong lead characters that I fell for. The meet cute is an unusual one as it takes place in the office toilets and from then on in I was hooked. The fake fiance is a tried and tested romance and this book took it to the next level with Rowena and Adrian. Rowena is firstly and strong and has a brain, Adrian is sexy and falls for his woman but isn’t sure how to make it all fit. The book is a flashback and runs into the first chapter at pace with a body clock count down which was fun to follow. Well worth a read.
Adrienne and Rowena meet in the worst of circumstances. She finds out that she is pregnant by her emotionally abusive ex-boyfriend and is laid off by her software engineering firm. Adrienne has been working in finance at a 90 hour a week clip in the hopes that he will take over as CEO. When he finds out he may be passed over as CEO because he's basically a robot doesn't have a family, he lies and fabricates a fake fiance`. Both meet puking in the nearby stalls of their luxury Manhattan office building.
Adrienne pitches to Rowena that they get married. It will help with her living and financial situation, and it will help him show his boss that he's a multifaceted person capable of leading an organization.
One must suspend reality a bit to enjoy If the Ring Fits, but the banter and chemistry is very cute. This one is not very spicy--all the romance scenes are closed door. If you are a fan of a classic romcom, If the Ring Fits may be the right book for you!
Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the advanced copy of this one. It publishes January 25, 2025.
Isley was an author discovered at the beginning of the year/last year and has been one I’ve followed since. I really enjoy her stories as they are just feel good and sassy and sweet and this is just the same vibe. I had a really good time with this series and am looking forward to more. This is definitely a story I would recommend.
Thank you NetGalley, Boldwood Books and Camilla Isley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
4.5 stars!
Adrian and Rowena meet in a public bathroom after they've both thrown up. Her from morning sickness and him from lying to his boss about having a pregnant fiancé. And they may be exactly what the other person needs. She's just been fired, has no job prospects, and is pregnant with her ex's child. In order to get in good with his boss, he said he has a full personal life outside of work, including a fiancé who is expecting their baby.
Cue the awkwardness and hilarity. Told from dual POV, these two try so hard not to fall for each other and fail just miserably. Through planning an engagement party and a wedding, all the while making social appearances, they have to act like they're in love. Eventually, neither one of them is acting anymore, but they can't admit it to each other because that's not part of the agreement they struck at the beginning.
This book is a SLOW BURN. Seriously, I have no idea how they kept their hands off each other for as long as they did. And after all that, their first time was closed door (available upon subscribing to the author's newsletter)! That's the only reason I knocked off half a star. Otherwise, this was a fantastic read that I just couldn't put down. I laughed, I cried, but mostly I laughed. It was a truly satisfying read, and I loved how Rowena was able to open Adrian's eyes to life outside of work.
Tropes:

loved this romance about adrian and rowena who end up in a bathroom and end up engaged. loved that they really fell for each other and found common place for a relationship.
“If the Ring Fits” is the second book in the series”Funny Feelings”, but can be read as a standalone.
Main tropes:
- marriage of convenience
- surprises pregnancy (not his baby)
- age gap
- forced proximity (only one bed)
Rowena finds out she is pregnant and gets fired the same day. Adrian invented a pregnant fiancée to have more chances to a promotion. So when they meet it’s like fate.
The relationship starts as a business transaction, but they have chemistry and get along very well. I liked both main characters a lot. Adrian is kind and supportive and Rowena is a strong woman.
The heat level is fade to black but there is an open door bonus scene.
A possible trigger warning: postpartum depression.
Thank you Boldwood Books and Netgalley for the ARC. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher the opportunity to read and review this book. All thoughts are my own. I found a new favorite author! I loved this book and read it in one setting. Adrian and Rowena meet in the most unexpected way, in the bathroom sick. Adrian just lied to his boss telling him he is a family man to get ahead in the company and Rowena was just let go after learning she was pregnant. Adrian needs a instant family and Rowena can fit the bill. I love the side characters - Rowena has a great group of friends and going along for this ride of falling in love was great. Totally enjoyed this book!
This is my formal request to you - dear reader of this review - to read If The Ring Fits by the one and only Camilla Isley.
I usually like (or try) to be kinda mysterious about the plots on my reviews but I simply cannot not talk about this one. So I chose to give you a quick run down of the most unhinged (in the best way possible) meet cute I've ever read:
Adrian West is on the run to be CEO of a big finance company, but overhears that he's not going to get it because he doesn't have a life outside work nor a family. So he does what any sensible person would do. Lies to his boss, telling he not only has a fiancée, but that they are expecting. After throwing up all his lunch in a public restroom, he finds there is a lady - Rowena, which was also throwing up - in the next stall that just found out she's pregnant and fired. So of course, as any sensible person, Adrian proposes to her (YAYYYY) while they are still in the stalls (LOL).
GUYS I 👏 ATE 👏 THIS 👏 UP 👏
Tell me - how could I not be obsessed with this book after this scene? Do you guys need more convincing?
This is a marriage of convenience, grumpy-sunshine, age gap (is only mentioned once, so does it really counts?) romance. It is funny, has a lot of banter, chemistry and cameos of characters from her other books. Here we get to see Dr. John Raikes as the best OB in Manhattan, Thomas and Reese as entrepreneurs at MC toys and of course K-2P, funny and full of itself as ever.
If The Ring Fits is the perfect rom-com to get you out of a slump. It will instantly turn you into a Camilla Isley fan. As a bonus, it also gives us a little glimpse at our beloved characters after the end of the True Love series. On a second thought, I feel like this is the perfect book for fans of Lauren Asher's Dreamland Billionaires series.
Thank you so much to the publisher and Netgalley for the access to this ARC. I received a complimentary copy of this book and all the opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
This book had me hooked from the first chapter. Adrian & Rowena meet in a chaotic bathroom moment. I love how the first chapter is current & then the book goes to the past.
It had the right amount of tension & spice. They also have a large age gap which I thought was fun. I do feel like the ending was a bit rushed & so that is why it wasn’t five stars for me.
If you need a quick, binge worthy romance this is it!
Thank you NetGalley, Camilla Isley, & Boldwood Books for the eARC.
The lastest book by Camila Isley is a good one.. two people make a marriage of convenience for the mmc Adrian needed a wife for a promotion that he wanted.rowena lost her job so she benefited by him taking care of her. Adrian is a cinnamon roll in the story. He change from a workaholic to e there for her.
If the Ring Fits was such a fun read! Once again, Camilla Isley delivers fabulous characters and storylines with plenty of humor and feelings mixed in. She’s one of my favorite authors and I’m already looking forward to the next in the series.
Software engineer Rowan’s situation can’t get much worse at the moment: pregnant with her horrible ex’s baby, jobless, and not knowing how she’ll pay the rent. Enter driven workaholic banker Adrian, who’s just learned his boss is going to pass him over for the CEO job because he ISN’T a family guy. The solution? A marriage of convenience where she’ll have a place to live, health insurance, and cash, and he’ll have a wife with a baby on the way. No feelings though.
Except there are ALL the feelings, not that either of them will admit it! The chemistry is there, and living in close quarters brings out buried emotions and more. Watching them love and support each other through the twists and turns, laughing at the clever banter, seeing their inner turmoil, feeling all the romcom warmth. This book was absolutely for me! Although most of it is pretty light, there are some heavier topics in here, so do check the trigger warnings.
As for spice, it’s mostly closed-door but there’s a steamy bonus chapter if you’re interested!
And finally, if you’ve read her other books, there are some fun cameos from Nina and Tristan (This Is not a Holiday Romance – book 1 in the series) and Dr. John Raikes (Baby, One More Time).
I do like Camilla Isley's rom-coms, so I sincerely appreciated the early look at "If the Ring Fits", which is described as an "age gap, marriage of convenience rom-com with a multi-millionaire MMC and a STEM FMC". Which it was, along with forced proximity, one bed and some other tropes on top. And maybe that was my main issue with it - it just kinda felt like too much, like checking boxes or something. And neither of the leads exactly wowed me either, though the guy was fine but I'm really kinda over the richy rich boys. My favorite part of this one was the call-back characters from "The Love Algorithm" including the very adorable robot K-2P! Also, this is a "clean romance" which I really do appreciate a lot! So, a mixed review from me. My thanks to the publisher & Net Galley for the advanced readers copy - I do appreciate it greatly.
The firts chapter of this book takes your heart by surprise and for the rest of the story you keep pushing for Adrian and Rowena's happy ending, even if it seems impossible. A fake relantionship that seems more real with every day they share. Will they be able to find their way back together? A beautiful love story full of feelings and emotions.
Thank you Boldwood and Netgalley for a chance to read this! 4.5/5 stars!
I RELALY enjoyed this one. The 'second' in a series (Nina/Tristan being the first), this follows Rowena and Adrian through a marriage of convenience/pregnancy trope. While all marriage of convenience tropes require a bit of a suspension of belief, I thought this one actually was relatively plausible. Rowena is recently pregnant and jobless, looking for some sort of stability while Adrian is a workaholic hopeful for a shot at CEO through establishing a family life.
While this is super slow burn and Isley's typical PG-13 style (with just a touch of spice in a separate chapter), it worked really well. You could really feel the attraction and romance grow between Adrian and Rowena and I loved watching them come into their feelings. I loved some of the smaller side plots about career (HELLO Reese/Thomas/K2P! LOVED seeing them again) and the friendship group we met in FF #1. I also really liked the few chapters on postpartum depression: as someone who personally struggled, the way Rowena spun out felt SO realistic.
All in all, I thought this was just so enjoyable, and just the right balance of chemistry and romance!
