When you are at rock bottom, what are you to do. Marry the stranger in the bathroom stall next to you obviously.

Adrian and Rowena meet on the worse day for Rowena after she just got fired and finding out that she is pregnant by her ex. Adrian on the other hand, wants to get a promotion at work and his boss likes a good "family man" so Adrian tells him boss he has fiancé he wants to him to meet. The only problem for Adrian is there is no fiancé. This is where Rowena and Adrian meet in the bathroom and come up with the crazy plan to get married to solve all their problems.

Along the way, they get thrown into situations that make them become closer. However, there is a set date for them to divorce and once that day comes, they have to decide what they want to do.

The book begins at the divorce hearing and takes you thru the history of their relationship from both of their perspectives. I especially like this format and hope the author does more books like this. This is a nice relaxing read.

Adrian and Rowena find themselves engaged, in an unexpected way. These two characters, with tropes included, find themselves living their separate lives together, and definitely don't plan to fall in love.
This was a fun story to read by Camilla Isley and stays on par with her book themes.

Thank you netgalley for an arc of If the Ring Fits by Camilla Isley

So i gotta start by saying that i usually hate anything related to pregnancy, therefore, yes this score is lower than it would have been without it, but its kindof the point of the whole plot. That being said, im a fan of camilla isley, and i do love these characters, their story, and absolutely their chemistry. Adrian is like a dream man and honestly i would have married him too. So yes my least favorite trope but how could i ignore camilla isleys new romance. Definitely recommend, though be warned.

Enjoyable modern day marriage of convenience trope. Adrian, a wall street workaholic is up for the CEO position, but overhears the exiting CEO say he’s in second because he’s a workaholic. The CEO wants a family man who demonstrates a work life balance. Rowena, who works in the same building as a coder, gets layed off the same afternoon she finds out she’s pregnant with her flaming turd of an ex. After a meet cute, both Rowena and Adrian make a deal to get married. It’s a far out there meet cute/scenario, but the characters are great. They have a natural rapport and the banter feels very real. The ups and downs of there relationship keep this story moving and engaging. This is listed as second in a series, but definitely can be read as standalone. It’s closed door, but if you want spicy scene, the author included one after the epilogue. Check this one out.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest feedback.

This is my third Camilla Isley book, and if I’m being honest, after the first one, I wasn’t sure I’d pick up another. But I’m so glad I gave her another chance because now I think I might be hooked. Let me start by saying: this book brought me to actual happy tears.

Before diving into what made this book shine, I have a few observations. First, the bathroom scene felt a bit odd—neither Adrian nor Rowena questions whether the other is in the wrong bathroom, which I found unusual. While unisex bathrooms do exist, they’re not that common in my experience. Second, when Adrian says, “you said you can’t make rent,” I realized Rowena hadn’t actually said that out loud—it was only an internal thought. A small inconsistency, but it caught my attention. Lastly, the use of “per cent” instead of “percent” stood out, as the story is set in New York and the spelling is more British/Canadian. It’s not a complaint, just an interesting choice.

Now onto the good stuff. Adrian is a fantastic romantic lead. Aside from his workaholic tendencies, which understandably caused issues in his past relationships, he’s easy to love. His support for Rowena, even as she’s preparing to have another man’s baby, is incredibly heartwarming. He admires her intelligence and strength, encourages her dreams, and even makes Taylor Swift references (hello, Reputation fans!). And the moment he says, “I want to adopt our baby”? Cue the happy tears! Lord, let me find a man like Adrian.

Rowena is a strong, smart, and resourceful female lead, which I always appreciate. Instead of taking it easy during her pregnancy, she doubles down and starts planning her next career move. She’s a fighter, and I love that. That said, I have two minor gripes with her character. First, the nickname “Bunny” for Adrian—sorry, but it’s just not for me. Second, her refusal to let Adrian explain himself during their “soft” third-act breakup (my least favorite romance trope) was frustrating. I get that she wasn’t in her right mind after giving birth, but it still annoyed me.

One of the highlights of the book was the crossover with The Love Algorithm, which I adored. It was such a delightful surprise to see these two stories intertwine!

Lastly, I thought the book might go without any spicy scenes, and honestly, it didn’t need them to be enjoyable. But let’s just say, when that spicy chapter finally arrived, I wasn’t mad about it.

All in all, this book has cemented Camilla Isley as a must-read author for me. Now I’m off to explore more of her backlist!

This was a fun and heart warming read! I too am in an "age gap" relationship so I really enjoy reading on it! This kept me laughing and my heart happy. The characters were written so detailed that I feel like I knew them personally!

Many thanks to NetGalley for providing me an e-arc in change for a honest review.

This is the second book of this series I have read and I really enjoyed it from start to finish, it had everything a book needs.

I throughly enjoyed having the different povs to see how they both built up their relationships and feelings throughout the book, starting the book at the end with them flashbacks until the end of the story catches up to the start really appealed to me as well!

I wanted to like this book a lot more than I actually did. I think that the main thing was that there were too many time jumps. It made it feel disconjointed. The middle was really good and then they got together and all of the domestic scenes were described to us in like a paragraph and we hardly actually saw them together. It's sad because I know the author can write a cute pregnancy book, I've read one by her. I hope the next book is better.

I received an arc through netgalley.

I found If the Ring Fits to be a light, quick read that held my attention. Though everything is explained in a logical manner, there were times when circumstances seemed a little too convenient to be genuinely credible. Overall, I thought both of the main characters were likeable, and I particularly liked the times when they joked around. Seeing a woman in STEM was encouraging to me as a former software engineer.

4.5 stars – If the Ring Fits by Camilla Isley will cause all the feels – laughter, tears, anger and silly smiles. It all begins with Adrian and Rowena who have a challenging meet cute. Then he proposes without even seeing her! If the Ring Fits is a wonderful story that is hard to put down!

A big “Thank You” to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for allowing me to read an advance copy. This independent, honest review is happily shared.

If the Ring Fits by Camilla Isley

What a delightful, hilarious, and swoon-worthy rom-com! If the Ring Fits by Camilla Isley takes us on a whirlwind journey with two hot messes—Adrian, the uptight investment banker, and Rowena, the down-on-her-luck software engineer—who find themselves trapped in a fake engagement that might just turn into something real.

From the very first chapter, I was hooked by their awkward meet-cute and couldn’t wait to see how their unlikely bond would evolve.

Adrian and Rowena are both relatable in their own right, struggling with life’s curveballs and looking for a way out of their sticky situations. The chemistry between them is off the charts, and Isley does an amazing job at weaving humor, tension, and emotional depth throughout.

The fake engagement trope is executed perfectly here, with just the right balance of comedic moments and heartfelt scenes. Watching them try to navigate the rules of their arrangement, while slowly—oh so slowly—realizing they might actually be falling for each other, was an absolute joy.

While the plot is a bit predictable at times, it doesn’t take away from the fun. The tension is real, the romance is sweet, and the humor is on point. If you’re in the mood for a lighthearted and engaging read with great character development, If the Ring Fits is the book for you. It’s a perfect escape, and I highly recommend it!

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the ARC! If the Ring Fits will hit shelves on January 25, 2025 and I can’t wait for everyone to dive into this charming story!

2.5 ⭐️

Gutted to say that this book wasn’t for me… and it’s sad because I always love anything Camilla Isley writes :(

This is the second book in the Funny Feelings Series and it centres around Adrian and Rowena. He’s an investment banker and she’s a software engineer. They both agree to a fake engagement to impress Adrian’s CEO and to secure him a promotion.

OKAY. I really liked the first chapter - how it stars with the ending and how it already builds up the bond between the main characters. But let’s talk about the things that were not my cup of tea—
Starting with how fast-paced this book is and how little the romance between Adrian and Rowena is talked about (it feels like they fell for each other overnight).
The synopsis didn’t mention that this book has the pregnancy trope at all (which I can’t stand😭), it threw me off and it basically came out of nowhere.
The MMC was really dull at some points, I wondered if he had any feelings at all lol. And the FMC? well… she was trying so hard to be different all the time that she appeared to be a bit annoying and childish.

I feel like the feeling of longing and tension and banter between the main characters -that this author writes really well in her other books- was lacking in this one. And I also wasn’t feeling too much chemistry between them.

It’s sorrowful how much I didn’t vibe with this book… But hey! Don’t let this review influence you into not reading it. Who Knows? You might like it! 💌

Read if you like:
💍 fake engagement.
💍 surprise pregnancy.
💍 age-gap (28/39).
💍 billionaire MMC x STEM FMC.
💍 forced proximity.

Thank you to the author, Boldwood Books and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. If the Ring Fits by Camilla Isley will be coming out on January 25th.

This was a fun marriage of convenience, the result of one heck of a memorable meet cute (or shall we say, meet puke).

Adrian in needing to step up as a family man to impress the man determining if he should be the next CEO of his company, and Rowena stepping off the elevator from the worst day ever, end up having a heart to heart in the most unconventional of locations where he proposes, literally, what could be a mutually agreeable arrangement.

I loved getting to watch them fight their feelings through the wedding planning in one heck of a will they won't they for real. There were butterflies, intentional growth (especially on his part) and all around thoughtfulness leading to the inevitable third act conflict. The reconciliation felt a little rushed and I wanted to see more of their love story, but that aside, the epilogue made me melt!

Now I'm just over hear anxiously awaiting Hunter and Dylan's story!

It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of Camilla Isley’s work. Last year, she was my most-read author, I devoured and adored six of her books. So, having early access to her latest release, especially one coming out so early in January, felt like a gift.

“If the Ring Fits” is the second book in Camilla Isley’s “Funny Feelings” series. This time, we follow Rowena Taylor, one of Nina’s best friends from “This is Not a Holiday Romance”. Rowena’s life takes a sudden turn when she discovers she’s pregnant with her ex-boyfriend’s baby and, on the very same day, gets laid off from work. Facing the reality of being a single mom with no income, she agrees to a fake marriage with Adrian West, a high-powered financial banker who needs a wife to secure a promotion he’s worked years for. But as they play the roles of husband and wife, lines blur, and their feelings for each other grow deeper. The problem? Their contract says they’ll divorce six months after the wedding.

In my opinion, “If the Ring Fits” is Camilla Isley’s best work yet. I’ve loved many of her previous stories, but this one struck a deeper chord. It has everything: a well-executed marriage of convenience plot, the ever-enticing one-bed trope, and a perfect balance of romantic tension that kept me glued to the pages until the very last one. Adrian’s and Rowena’s emotions and struggles leap off the page, and their connection feels genuine and heartfelt.

Rowena is such a relatable and lovable character. From her past heartbreak and being unfairly fired by a horrible boss to navigating the emotional rollercoaster of new motherhood and her complicated feelings for Adrian, she goes through so much in this book. Yet, she comes out stronger and more resilient. I especially connected with her journey as a new mom trying to balance her personal aspirations with the challenges of raising a child.

And then there’s Adrian. I’ve read about many book boyfriends, but Adrian has easily climbed to the top of my list. On the surface, he’s a ruthless, emotionally distant businessman, but when it comes to Rowena, he’s a total softie. He’s self-aware enough to know he doesn’t feel worthy of her, yet he’s willing to do whatever it takes to prove himself. His vulnerability and tenderness made him unforgettable.

One of the book’s highlights for me was the crossover with Camilla Isley’s “True Love” series. Seeing familiar characters like Dr. Raikes from “Baby, One More Time” and Thomas and Reese from “The Love Algorithm” made me smile—it felt like reconnecting with old friends.

Camilla Isley’s storytelling in “If the Ring Fits” is seamless and effortless. The narration flows beautifully, making it an absolute joy to read. Honestly, this story deserves a big-screen adaptation—I’d be the first in line to watch it.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves romance novels, especially those that focus on deep, emotional connections between the characters without relying on overly explicit scenes. This is one of the reasons I’ve always admired Camilla Isley’s work, she knows how to deliver heartwarming romance in a classy and wholesome way. For those who enjoy a bit of spice, there’s a bonus chapter at the end that gives a peek into Rowena’s and Adrian’s more intimate moments.

Mark your calendars for January 25th, because “If the Ring Fits” is one romance novel you don’t want to miss. A big thank you to Camilla Isley, Boldwood Books, and NetGalley for granting me early access to this wonderful story in exchange for my honest review. This is a must-read for all romance lovers out there!

*3.5 stars*

When Rowena finds out she’s pregnant and lost her job in the same day, a chance encounter with a multi-millionaire who’s trying to impress his boss leads to an agreement that could benefit both of them… by getting married. If the Ring Fits is the 2nd book in Isley’s Funny Feelings series, though it can easily be read as a stand-alone. Fans of Isley’s may recognize a few familiar characters from her True Love series as well!

If the Ring Fits was a quick, light read that kept my interest well enough. Sometimes situations seemed a bit too convenient to be truly believable, but it’s all explained in a way that makes sense. I enjoyed the moments of playful banter between the main characters, and overall found both of them to be likable. As a former software engineer, I liked seeing the representation of a woman in STEM.

Thank you to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for the advance review copy of If the Ring Fits! All opinions in my review are completely my own.

Wow! Wow! Wow!
What a read. I am in LOVE. I love the connection between the first book and this book. I have always wondered what "side" characters' story looks like.

The story between Rowena and Adrian had me captivated so BAD. It was incredible to read through their fake marriage!

I was smiling to myself the whole time like a dummy X) (With a few tears... maybe a lot)

I always enjoy Camilla’s books and this one was no different. I had a great time reading the book, but it felt not as good as some of her other books.

I think the issue for me is that there was too much put into one short book. It’s a fake dating + marriage of convenience + surprise pregnancy all in one and it is just a lot. As much as Adrian and Rowena make a very cute couple, the characters and relationship development gets a little lost in all of that, and there wasn’t time to get really into any of the tropes. Because of this, it felt like the story remained superficial.

A lighthearted romance that’s easy to breeze through. The chemistry between the characters is fun and palpable. The ending felt a little rushed and left me wanting more—especially after the story had built up so nicely. Overall, it’s a sweet, quick read. 3.5!

Camilla Isley just knows how to do romance. She has it perfected. Her books always make me feel happy, and are the perfect 'in a reading slump' kind of read.

If the Ring Fits is told in dual POV - both Rowena and Adrian share their side of the story.

Rowena is pregnant to her horrible ex-boyfriend, has just lost her job and has no idea how she will be able to raise this baby by herself.

Adrian is up for a big promotion (to CEO) but he is up against another colleague. Adrian has dedicated himself to his work, while his fellow colleague is a family man and this empress' his boss so much. So Adrian invents a fake pregnant fiancé to get in his boss' good books - but regret hits him hard.... where is he going to find someone to play along with this fib?

Fate throws both Adrian and Rowena together and they end up faking this engagement so hard.... but in the end are they really faking it?

I loved this story from the start... its an easy read, and the slow burn!!! Ahhhh amazing. Its a light read, there is minimal spice, and the ending is everything you want it to be.

If you love romance, this is for you!
