If the Ring Fits by Camilla Isley
What a delightful, hilarious, and swoon-worthy rom-com! If the Ring Fits by Camilla Isley takes us on a whirlwind journey with two hot messes—Adrian, the uptight investment banker, and Rowena, the down-on-her-luck software engineer—who find themselves trapped in a fake engagement that might just turn into something real.
From the very first chapter, I was hooked by their awkward meet-cute and couldn’t wait to see how their unlikely bond would evolve.
Adrian and Rowena are both relatable in their own right, struggling with life’s curveballs and looking for a way out of their sticky situations. The chemistry between them is off the charts, and Isley does an amazing job at weaving humor, tension, and emotional depth throughout.
The fake engagement trope is executed perfectly here, with just the right balance of comedic moments and heartfelt scenes. Watching them try to navigate the rules of their arrangement, while slowly—oh so slowly—realizing they might actually be falling for each other, was an absolute joy.
While the plot is a bit predictable at times, it doesn’t take away from the fun. The tension is real, the romance is sweet, and the humor is on point. If you’re in the mood for a lighthearted and engaging read with great character development, If the Ring Fits is the book for you. It’s a perfect escape, and I highly recommend it!
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the ARC! If the Ring Fits will hit shelves on January 25, 2025 and I can’t wait for everyone to dive into this charming story!

Gutted to say that this book wasn’t for me… and it’s sad because I always love anything Camilla Isley writes :(
This is the second book in the Funny Feelings Series and it centres around Adrian and Rowena. He’s an investment banker and she’s a software engineer. They both agree to a fake engagement to impress Adrian’s CEO and to secure him a promotion.
OKAY. I really liked the first chapter - how it stars with the ending and how it already builds up the bond between the main characters. But let’s talk about the things that were not my cup of tea—
Starting with how fast-paced this book is and how little the romance between Adrian and Rowena is talked about (it feels like they fell for each other overnight).
The synopsis didn’t mention that this book has the pregnancy trope at all (which I can’t stand😭), it threw me off and it basically came out of nowhere.
The MMC was really dull at some points, I wondered if he had any feelings at all lol. And the FMC? well… she was trying so hard to be different all the time that she appeared to be a bit annoying and childish.
I feel like the feeling of longing and tension and banter between the main characters -that this author writes really well in her other books- was lacking in this one. And I also wasn’t feeling too much chemistry between them.
It’s sorrowful how much I didn’t vibe with this book… But hey! Don’t let this review influence you into not reading it. Who Knows? You might like it! 💌
Read if you like:
💍 fake engagement.
💍 surprise pregnancy.
💍 age-gap (28/39).
💍 billionaire MMC x STEM FMC.
💍 forced proximity.
Thank you to the author, Boldwood Books and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. If the Ring Fits by Camilla Isley will be coming out on January 25th.

This was a fun marriage of convenience, the result of one heck of a memorable meet cute (or shall we say, meet puke).
Adrian in needing to step up as a family man to impress the man determining if he should be the next CEO of his company, and Rowena stepping off the elevator from the worst day ever, end up having a heart to heart in the most unconventional of locations where he proposes, literally, what could be a mutually agreeable arrangement.
I loved getting to watch them fight their feelings through the wedding planning in one heck of a will they won't they for real. There were butterflies, intentional growth (especially on his part) and all around thoughtfulness leading to the inevitable third act conflict. The reconciliation felt a little rushed and I wanted to see more of their love story, but that aside, the epilogue made me melt!
Now I'm just over hear anxiously awaiting Hunter and Dylan's story!
Thank you Netgalley and Boldwood Books for the ARC in exchange for my review!

It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of Camilla Isley’s work. Last year, she was my most-read author, I devoured and adored six of her books. So, having early access to her latest release, especially one coming out so early in January, felt like a gift.
“If the Ring Fits” is the second book in Camilla Isley’s “Funny Feelings” series. This time, we follow Rowena Taylor, one of Nina’s best friends from “This is Not a Holiday Romance”. Rowena’s life takes a sudden turn when she discovers she’s pregnant with her ex-boyfriend’s baby and, on the very same day, gets laid off from work. Facing the reality of being a single mom with no income, she agrees to a fake marriage with Adrian West, a high-powered financial banker who needs a wife to secure a promotion he’s worked years for. But as they play the roles of husband and wife, lines blur, and their feelings for each other grow deeper. The problem? Their contract says they’ll divorce six months after the wedding.
In my opinion, “If the Ring Fits” is Camilla Isley’s best work yet. I’ve loved many of her previous stories, but this one struck a deeper chord. It has everything: a well-executed marriage of convenience plot, the ever-enticing one-bed trope, and a perfect balance of romantic tension that kept me glued to the pages until the very last one. Adrian’s and Rowena’s emotions and struggles leap off the page, and their connection feels genuine and heartfelt.
Rowena is such a relatable and lovable character. From her past heartbreak and being unfairly fired by a horrible boss to navigating the emotional rollercoaster of new motherhood and her complicated feelings for Adrian, she goes through so much in this book. Yet, she comes out stronger and more resilient. I especially connected with her journey as a new mom trying to balance her personal aspirations with the challenges of raising a child.
And then there’s Adrian. I’ve read about many book boyfriends, but Adrian has easily climbed to the top of my list. On the surface, he’s a ruthless, emotionally distant businessman, but when it comes to Rowena, he’s a total softie. He’s self-aware enough to know he doesn’t feel worthy of her, yet he’s willing to do whatever it takes to prove himself. His vulnerability and tenderness made him unforgettable.
One of the book’s highlights for me was the crossover with Camilla Isley’s “True Love” series. Seeing familiar characters like Dr. Raikes from “Baby, One More Time” and Thomas and Reese from “The Love Algorithm” made me smile—it felt like reconnecting with old friends.
Camilla Isley’s storytelling in “If the Ring Fits” is seamless and effortless. The narration flows beautifully, making it an absolute joy to read. Honestly, this story deserves a big-screen adaptation—I’d be the first in line to watch it.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves romance novels, especially those that focus on deep, emotional connections between the characters without relying on overly explicit scenes. This is one of the reasons I’ve always admired Camilla Isley’s work, she knows how to deliver heartwarming romance in a classy and wholesome way. For those who enjoy a bit of spice, there’s a bonus chapter at the end that gives a peek into Rowena’s and Adrian’s more intimate moments.
Mark your calendars for January 25th, because “If the Ring Fits” is one romance novel you don’t want to miss. A big thank you to Camilla Isley, Boldwood Books, and NetGalley for granting me early access to this wonderful story in exchange for my honest review. This is a must-read for all romance lovers out there!

*3.5 stars*
When Rowena finds out she’s pregnant and lost her job in the same day, a chance encounter with a multi-millionaire who’s trying to impress his boss leads to an agreement that could benefit both of them… by getting married. If the Ring Fits is the 2nd book in Isley’s Funny Feelings series, though it can easily be read as a stand-alone. Fans of Isley’s may recognize a few familiar characters from her True Love series as well!
If the Ring Fits was a quick, light read that kept my interest well enough. Sometimes situations seemed a bit too convenient to be truly believable, but it’s all explained in a way that makes sense. I enjoyed the moments of playful banter between the main characters, and overall found both of them to be likable. As a former software engineer, I liked seeing the representation of a woman in STEM.
Thank you to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for the advance review copy of If the Ring Fits! All opinions in my review are completely my own.

Wow! Wow! Wow!
What a read. I am in LOVE. I love the connection between the first book and this book. I have always wondered what "side" characters' story looks like.
The story between Rowena and Adrian had me captivated so BAD. It was incredible to read through their fake marriage!
I was smiling to myself the whole time like a dummy X) (With a few tears... maybe a lot)

I always enjoy Camilla’s books and this one was no different. I had a great time reading the book, but it felt not as good as some of her other books.
I think the issue for me is that there was too much put into one short book. It’s a fake dating + marriage of convenience + surprise pregnancy all in one and it is just a lot. As much as Adrian and Rowena make a very cute couple, the characters and relationship development gets a little lost in all of that, and there wasn’t time to get really into any of the tropes. Because of this, it felt like the story remained superficial.

A lighthearted romance that’s easy to breeze through. The chemistry between the characters is fun and palpable. The ending felt a little rushed and left me wanting more—especially after the story had built up so nicely. Overall, it’s a sweet, quick read. 3.5!

Camilla Isley just knows how to do romance. She has it perfected. Her books always make me feel happy, and are the perfect 'in a reading slump' kind of read.
If the Ring Fits is told in dual POV - both Rowena and Adrian share their side of the story.
Rowena is pregnant to her horrible ex-boyfriend, has just lost her job and has no idea how she will be able to raise this baby by herself.
Adrian is up for a big promotion (to CEO) but he is up against another colleague. Adrian has dedicated himself to his work, while his fellow colleague is a family man and this empress' his boss so much. So Adrian invents a fake pregnant fiancé to get in his boss' good books - but regret hits him hard.... where is he going to find someone to play along with this fib?
Fate throws both Adrian and Rowena together and they end up faking this engagement so hard.... but in the end are they really faking it?
I loved this story from the start... its an easy read, and the slow burn!!! Ahhhh amazing. Its a light read, there is minimal spice, and the ending is everything you want it to be.
If you love romance, this is for you!

A wonderfully uplifting read… A lot of sparkle and mischief… The characters are fabulous… A very relaxing read!

How far would you go to impress your boss—would you fake a fiancée?"
Adrian, handsome but workaholic investment banker, finds himself trapped in a web of his own making when he claims to be engaged to impress his boss. Enter Rowena, a brilliant software engineer whose life is unraveling—she’s jobless, newly pregnant, and feeling cornered. Their chance meeting leads to an unconventional arrangement: a fake engagement that solves both their problems.
What starts as a business-like partnership soon evolves into something deeper, as Adrian and Rowena navigate their personal struggles and discover that sometimes love blooms in the most unlikely of places. With laugh-out-loud banter, heartwarming moments, and just the right amount of chaos, this delightful story explores the magic of finding love when you least expect it.
If Adrian and Rowena were Olympic athletes, they'd definitely take home the gold medal for witty banter and slow-burn chemistry! Their dynamic had me hooked from page one, with every hilarious mishap and perfectly timed comeback making me grin like a lovesick fool. Adrian's charm and Rowena's strength as a single mom create a perfect balance of swoon-worthy moments and heartfelt connection.
This story is more than just laughs (although there are plenty!). It dives into the emotional roller coaster of love, trust, and what it means to take a leap of faith. I laughed out loud at their antics, felt a tug at my heartstrings during those tender moments, and, yes, may have shed a happy tear or two when my heart was just too full to handle it all.
Honestly, "If the Ring Fits" is pure rom-com perfection. It’s like the literary equivalent of your favorite romantic comedy movie—light, fun, and oh-so-satisfying. I can't recommend it enough for anyone who loves slow-burn romance, hilarious misunderstandings, and characters who feel like your best friends by the end of the book! It's a must-read for anyone seeking a feel-good romance with depth and humor. Thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for this advanced copy.

I love anything that Camilla Isley writes and this book was no exception. It was the perfect start to the new year!
Adrian and Rowena have a very unusual meeting, but find that they are both in a position to help each other out. Adrian needs a pregnant fiancee and Rowena needs a place to live and time to figure out what she is going to do now that she has lost her job. They make an arrangement and you can probably figure out what that is.
I adore Adrian and how he treats Rowena from the start. He is the total fictional package. This book has banter, swoony moments, and a sassy robot.
Thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for this advanced copy!

This book was great! The story was well written and the main characters had some great character development throughout the story and the romance was so cute and tension filled!

Another fun read from Camilla Isley that was just fun and cute.
From their first meeting to their situations, everything was so perfect and sweet I didn't want to put it down. Highly recommend for a fun January read

I really enjoyed this book. The meet-cute was perfect for this couple. Adrian and Rowena were a great match of personalities, strengths, and companionship. I think Camilla did a wonderful job with character growth and how these two complement each other.
Rowena ended an unhealthy relationship that left a lot of insecurities. Adrian has his own past that both motivate him and keep his walls up when it comes to a potential relationship. Adrian and Rowena continue to surprise each other as they tackle situations together. They build each other up while tackling their own insecurities. I loved Adrian’s reasons for delaying the inevitable, even if I was as ready as Rowena for him to give in!
Camilla brings forth some heavy topics but does it perfectly. There are plenty of laughs, sexual tension, friendship, and support to make this book a great choice.
Thank you to NetGalley & Bollywood Books for providing me with this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I'm confused as to like or hate this book.
Adrian needs a pregnant fiancee, and Rowena needs a... lifeline to keep her staying in New York for the foreseeable future. And she's pregnant.
I think this book convinced me that they're meant for each other.
Things that I like:
- Rowena and Adrian. I dunno I just like them haha.
- Rowena's support system, ofc! Nina, Hunter, Tristan and Dylan are in this.
- The set-up, characters, and tropes actually remind me of similar billionnaire romance BUT this book managed to bring playful and fun notes. And I'm all for a real cozy and not-gloomy feeling throughout the book.
Things that I find pretty disturbing:
- Rowena's wishy-washy attitude
- I can't relate to being pregnant and sipping (albeit virgin) mimosa and coffee / caffeinated drink in any form
- I just wish the postpartum part were discussed more in this book (cuz I'm a mom and for this part I could resonate with Rowena)
Overall, 3 stars for me! I love Camilla's but I think this book is a bit heavy.

Three cheers for Camilla Isley, who can write a billionaire romance without making him sound like a complete jerk, and a pregnancy romance that isn't gross! I actually loved the meet cute, it was hilarious and unexpected. The romance felt genuine and the spice was...nicely spicy. Can't wait for her next book (no pressure!).

Camilla Isley has yet to disappoint me, her ROMCOMS always leave me feeling warm and fluffy. She's become one of those authors for me that I just know that no matter which book of hers I pick up- I'm going to love it.
If the Ring Fits follows Adrian and Rowena who both after a horrific day that ends with them puking in the washroom and commiserating together- decide to get fake but real married. In this arrangement Rowena gets the stability she so desperately needs for her and her unborn child and Adrian can prove to his boss man that he is family man and a work superstar.
The chemistry between these two was delicious and I loved that Rowena was the one who was actively pursuing Adrian a bit more (get yours girl)!
Also as a consistent reader of Camilla now it was adorable and amazing to see other character cameos (such as from The Love Algorithm) I also love an interconnected standalone so naturally I am very excited for Hunters book!
Camilla Isley's books are everything I want to see from a romance novel and more, so if you haven't tried any of her novels I would highly recommend.

Wow, I was not expecting to be as taken away with this book as I was.
Immediately I connected to the characters and fell in love with them! Rowena and Adrian are quite possibly my favourite book couple of 2024!
The way the story travelled in dual POV was fantastic. The only criticism I have was that the last 10 to 15 chapters felt a little rushed but that could be because the first half was spent building the backstory.
I'm now going to go back and start reading some of the author's back catalogue!

This was a fantastic book! I previously read Nina and Tristan’s story in “This is Not a Holiday Romance”, and this was a great related story based on one of Nina’s roommates and good friends (although it could also be read as a stand-alone).
The characters in this book were well developed, they had a great sense of humor, and the story was believable and smooth - it was hard to put down! I’m not usually a fan of already pregnant/new love stories, but this one had a good balance. There were some difficult issues the main characters had in their past, which they had to deal with, but it was done well.
Overall, I would highly recommend this book and any others in the Funny Feelings series, or by this author in general! Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC and the chance to read and review this book.
