Never Say Never By Danielle Steel and narrated by Michael Braun was another excellent book by an author, I just love to read her books. This latest book was a deeply moving, about a woman whose life is turned upside down while living temporarily in the French countryside and really enjoyed it.
Oona Kelly Webster has so much to be grateful for. She is a striking woman with beautiful red hair and green eyes, she has a loving family and a great job she adores, which is editing a prestigious line of books. It is coming up to her
twenty-fifth wedding anniversary with her Husband Charles and they have planned a visit to France.
Then Charles drops a massive bombshell and this is out of the Blue! Oona always thought they were happily married. He has been living a lie and a big Lie! he has been having an affair for a year! Now, he is leaving Oona for a younger male lover.
Oola's life as she knew it crashes around her!
Oona decides to travel to France without Charles. She arrives in a charming village an hour outside of Paris, and settles into the house she has rented, called La Belle Florence, named after the king’s mistress for whom it was built. But just as she’s catching her breath, she’s dealt another knock in her life, her company’s merger will eliminate her job.
What is Oona going to do now? She loves her job!!
WoW, in a space of a few months, everything is changing around her.....Once her perfect life with Charles and her job she love is slipping away from her so fast, she need to catch up and relook at everything.
But, she is in France, can she remain there and start a fresh, where everything is so beautiful around her and everything is so peaceful and life is so simple. A little white dog becomes attached to Oola and she take it under her wing. However, things start to look up for her, she finally begins to heal and starts to make friends especially with her neighbour from Trinidad, who delights her with his openness and warmth. At first she did not at first recognise him, Then she soon realises, he is a well-known actor. Their feelings begin to deepen, Oona wrestles with the risks of opening her heart again out again especially with a younger, very famous man.
Wow this book was lovely and the narrator Michael Braun was really good,
I highly recommend this promising warm new book by Danielle Steel.
