The book offers a charming mix of nostalgia, romance, and personal growth, with plenty of musical references and cultural throwbacks to the 1980s. Millie’s emotional journey, navigating love, loss, and trust, kept the story engaging, though there were times when I felt the pacing was a bit slow. The characters, especially Zane and Ben, were interesting but didn’t quite capture my full attention as much as I expected.
While the book touches on some heavier themes, including trust and difficult life decisions, the tone remains generally optimistic, and the Christian message adds a sense of hope and warmth. The author’s style is pleasant, and her writing is easy to follow, but overall, I found the story to be just okay. It wasn’t as captivating as I hoped, but it still offered a nice, feel-good reading experience.
If you're a fan of gentle, romantic fiction with a mix of nostalgia and heart, A Visit to Stoneybrook could be a great read for you. However, it didn't fully pull me in the way I anticipated.

DNF this book. I didn't get past chapter 2. This book was very was slow, because the MC, Millie, was just dull; reminiscing about her breakup with her boyfriend. There's no other word to describe her.
The book takes place in the 80's, after Millie experiences a breakup with her first love, her high school boyfriend, Giles. It was completely unexpected and devastated her. Soon she'll be going off to London for college, then medical school to become a surgeon. She wants to make a difference in the world. She grew up on a farm and moving away from home to London is a big change and accomplishment for Millie.
That's as far as I got.

A story filled with drama and romance and choices. Our lives often don't go smoothly on the path we have chosen for ourselves, and Millie's is the same. With dreams of how things should be, she finds herself on a journey of obstacles, unexpected relationships, and hope.
Recommended if you want clean romance and compelling characters, wrapped up in a tender tale of possibilities.

The story itself was okay, but the number of song titles and lyrics was in the book way too often for my liking. I felt that the story at times was being written by the lyrics instead of the lyrics being mentioned at just the right time.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
