Talk about hiding secrets! There are so many family secrets going on within this story, it was hard to keep everything straight in my mind.
The Perfect Guest certainly takes you on a wild, suspenseful ride!
Who exactly is the victim in the story???? The twisty ending will reveal all!
Thank you NetGalley, Bookouture and the author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

A really enjoyable read that was well paced and had just the right amount of suspense, atmosphere and twists. I couldn't put it down

Stephanie is in a bind when she contacts her estranged grandmother, Kay. Her mother Amanda has overdosed and 16-year-old Stephanie didn’t know who else to reach out to. Kay invites her to her home without question, but soon she starts seeing things about the girl that remind her too much of her daughter.
One night, Kay is looking out of her window when she sees a light out in the woods. She sees a woman go outside in a terrible storm to use the restroom, and worries that this girl is freezing and in trouble. When she approaches the tent the next day, she soon finds out that the girl isn’t alone - she has a very angry man and a very sick newborn with her. Wanting to make sure the baby is okay, she invites Ash and Rosie to stay with her as well, even though Stephanie is totally against the idea.
Now this ragtag group of teenagers is living in Kay’s home, and we slowly find out what their misdeeds are - even Kay’s. Everyone in this house has a secret (except for the baby!) and that’s basically the book. I feel like the synopsis was slightly misleading, and I didn’t care about any of the characters. I also didn’t care for the ending, but that’s a personal preference. Overall this book was entertaining enough, but not quite the stunning psychological thriller that it seems made out to be. 3.5 stars.
(Thank you to Bookouture, Casey Kelleher and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my review. This book is slated to be released on January 28, 2025.)

A brilliant read, fast paced and with some truly devilish characters. All characters are very well developed making it difficult to guess the true intentions of any of them. Told from multiple pov to add more depth.

My thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘The Perfect Guest’ written by Casey Kelleher in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
Kay Wildes’ daughter Amanda dies of a drug overdose and her daughter Stephanie goes to live with her grandmother. While walking her dog, Kay sees a blue tent pitched on the edge of Highgate Woods and becomes concerned about the occupants Ash, Rosie and their newborn son George, inviting them to stay with her for a day or two while the baby recovers from a nasty cold. Stephanie hates sharing the house with them and doesn’t trust them not to take advantage of her grandmother. She wants to find out why they’re hiding from the police, but they’re not the only ones with secrets.
‘The Perfect Guest’ is slow to get going and I contemplated giving up halfway through but I’m glad I persevered as the last 20% suddenly increased in tension and my reading started to speed up with curiosity. None of the characters were likeable or trustworthy and they all had hidden agendas but it wasn’t until I reached the final chapters that the truth was revealed. This is a dark psychological thriller that was generally sound and would have benefited from being faster-paced, but apart from that it’s been a good enjoyable read.

Thank you NetGalley for an advanced copy.
Got to be honest I have been Casey Kellher’s biggest fan since I read her very first book when she wrote gangland.
Since she started writing psychological thrillers I have been hooked.
What a book, again I am totally blown over by the story and I couldn’t put it down. Plenty of twists and turns, strap yourself in and get ready for the ride. No spoilers from me but if you’re a psychological drama addict then this is for you, you will not be disappointed.
Casey your the best can’t wait for what’s to come next

Stephanie's mother has died from an overdose, so she goes to live with her estranged grandma, Kay. Things aren't easy between them. But things get worse when Kay comes across a teenage couple and a baby living in a tent not far from her home. Despite Stephanie saying it's a bad idea, Kay allows them to stay with them for a few days. Soon, things go from bad to worse. But why does Stephanie feel like she's the one in the wrong?
Aaaaaaghh. Honestly, that's it. That's my review. Or at least, that's all it should be. Ooooh, this book made me so damn mad. If I had a magic power, I'd use it to climb into this book and give each person a swift kick in the arse. The stupidity of some of the characters had me wanting to smack their heads against a wall. The stress I felt when reading this made me want to throw it across the room. I don't know if I hated it or loved it, but it definitely made me feel some kinda way.
Don't get me wrong, this was a great read. It was a little slow to start with, but picked up fairly quickly and had me feeling awful for Stephanie. There were a couple of little twists thrown in that makes you rethink everything you thought whilst reading. I certainly didn't see any of that ending coming. But that's why it pissed me off so much.
Go and read this one asap because I need to rant about it with someone who has read it.

Lots of twists and turns! I loved reading from the character’s different points of view as the story unfolded. Just enough was revealed without spoiling the surprise ending. Definitely a fun read if you love thrillers!

I loved the unreliable narrator perspective and the twist. It was a bit of a slow burner but the last few pages were well paced.

0OMG! What have I just read! This book is amazing!!! I loved the storyline, I loved the characters, the good ones & the bad ones. There's so many twists and turns, this book will have you staying up reading well into the night. I read this in one sitting. Definitely 5 stars from me ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A nicely twisty tale told through multiple POVs. Kay was estranged from her daughter but now Stephanie. her granddaughter has turned up at her door and they're trying to build a relationship. There's something not quite right with Stephanie. And then Rosie and Ash. Kay takes them in because of the weather but they've got secrets-dangerous ones. It won't be clear for a long time how all of this links up but hang in there. Thnanks to Netgalley for the ARC. A good read.

In The Perfect Guest, we meet Stephanie and her grandmother, Kay, just after the death of Stephanie's mother. Kay was estranged from her daughter and hadn't previously had a relationship with Stephanie, but she is delighted to take her into her home and get to know her. There is an awkward distance between the two women, which is exacerbated when Kay offers shelter to a young couple with a baby, who are sleeping in a tent during a storm. Stephanie takes an instant dislike to Rosie and Ash and the atmosphere in the house is tense, to put it mildly! All of the four have their own secrets and their own agenda, but who is genuine and who is the villain of the piece?
The pace initially is a slow burn, drip feeding the back stories of the characters and then it picks up, becomes crazy suspenseful and builds to a super tense and shocking ending. This one's dark!
4 ⭐️ Thanks to Netgalley, Casey Kelleher and Bookouture, for an ARC in return for an honest review.

This was a 5 star book for me. I did not see that ending coming and was kept on my toes the whole time, grabbing whatever time I had to read. It was absolutely amazing

The Perfect Guest is an exhilarating page-turner that kept me glued to the pages from start to finish! With its unexpected twists and turns, this thriller constantly had me guessing what would happen next. Casey Kelleher brilliantly crafts a suspenseful atmosphere that draws you in and makes it hard to put down! I highly recommend this book!

I am a big fan of Casey Kelleher, and this book is one of her best. It has a very clever plot with twists and turns and an unexpected ending. I recommend it.

Whew, what a whirlwind of thrills!! You never know who the villain is! Definitely a page turner and very engaging! Must read!

Kay’s daughter has died and her granddaughter Stephanie has come to stay with her. Ash and Rosie are camping out at the edge of the woods, and Kay takes them in. But they all have secrets and lie to keep them covered. And no one’s agenda is clear.
It was a sloooow burn, but keep on it because the ending picks up and is good. BORROW

This was a good book, though I didn't feel that it matches the synopsis at all. The story centers on 4 primary characters: Kay, whose daughter recently died; Stephanie, who is Kay’s granddaughter but doesn’t have a relationship with her; and Ash and Rosie, who are on the run. All 4 of these characters have secrets to hide and it’s fun to try to figure out what everyone’s intentions really are. .
I love a story with an unreliable narrator and this one doesn’t disappoint. Each character is hiding something and the book is a bit of a slow burn (but in a good way) as we learn more about them. I didn’t really connect with any character but I could emphasize with their circumstances. There is a great twist at the end, just when I thought I had the whole thing figured out.
Overall, this was an enjoyable read that took the whole book to figure out who was telling the truth. Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Was a great read. Really enjoyed the story. Good twists. I love this author would recommend to others
