Easton Chadwick is termed “the shark” of the courtroom, the best lawyer at her dad’s company, and that is how Henley Holloway starts shadowing Easton fresh out of grad school.
He unfairly judges her, thinking she’s got a spot in the company purely because her daddy is boss. But boyyyy does she show him her abilities, her work ethic rivals his.
It starts off as flirty rivalry. But once he gets an insight into the real Henley, he wants more. One problem, she’s his boss’ daughter and off limits. But, he’s willing to forfeit his name on the wall as a company partner to be her partner in life. He’s protective, and so defensive of her when tiny toxic men are undermining her.
The story took such an emotional turn when we found out Easton’s reason for being married to the job. It’s unimaginable what he’s been through, my heart really tugged for him. I found Henley to be so patient with him!! Lovely to see!
I’m excited for more from these Chadwick brothers, the group chat was such a fun addition to the story!

My first Laura Pavlov book and definitely won’t be my last. I’m a sucker for a small town romance add in grumpy x sunshine and workplace too? I’m totally sold. I loved the banter between Henley and Easton. Overall a solid 3.5 stars

Small town/Office Romance.
This was the first Laura Pavlov book i’ve read and it was a cute read but nothing wowed me about it!
I think it lacked a little excitement and nothing about the couple made me fall in love with them unfortunately.
If you need something quick and easy to read as a gap filler i think this book would work for you but i personally found myself skipping a lot.

another series from laura, another great book! i genuinely feel like laura is SUCH an underrated author. she writes the best small town romances! after reading the magnolia falls series, i just knew i was going to fall in love with everyone in rosewood river!
i loveee workplace romances and this gave everything i wanted it to give. it was such a fun, flirty little romance. easton had me swooningggg. i loved him in book 4 of the magnolia falls series but after learning his backstory in his book, my heart ached for him. he's such a precious soul and everything about him made me swoon.
thank you so much to HQ publishers & netgalley for sending me an e-arc! it publishes on 20/03/25

waaait, i've been enjoying this! this is my first book from laura pavlov, and i want to explore more of her books!
the relationship between henley and easton is so cute, this got me soft. and i'm proud for easton for telling his anxiety and panic attacks.
but my complain is that the ‘enemies’ in question (since the author put it as enemies to lovers as a trope), is only short-lived. yes, the banter is here. but for me, they already been friends (even though they need to act professionally in their work.) some of the words got repetitive. also, i need more tension for both mc's.
definitely continuing the series because the author hinted already who's the main character in her next book (i have no clue who is her love interest, but i'm excited though 🤭)

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for my copy of this e-arc!
Laura Pavlov has done it again. I devoured this book in 1 sitting. I kept saying ‘one more chapter’ but I couldn’t stop. I think the conflict became easy to read but that it also had to happen.
The things these characters went through are realistic and raw and I think that’s why I loved it even more. I cannot wait to read the next one!

A solid 3.5⭐
I got this book as an ARC. This is a new to me author.
I enjoyed the cozy slow pace of the book. Both characters were likeable even though Easton (MMC) was rude at the beginning of the book Henley (FMC) handled him well it was entertaining.
I loved Easton's family, especially the brothers and cousins. I can already know whose story we are going to get from the author next. I predict either Rafe & Lulu (fake dating?) or Bridger and Emilia (haters to lovers?)
Looking forward to the next book

I really really enjoyed this! Laura Pavlov just knows how to write a small town romance book.
The character development from Easton was perfect and the depth of both main characters made this book such a hooking and intriguing read. I can’t wait for more books to come out with the other brothers and cousins 🤭

I really enjoyed this book! A small town workplace romance. It's dislike to lovers and grumpy sunshine everything I love in a romance book!!
I found the MMC a little annoying at times and frustrating but still enjoyed this book overall. When the spice hits it hits well!
Thank you netgalley for allowing me to read this early!

I found this book really cute and enjoyable! I think it’s a great opener to the Rosewood River series, and I’m excited to get to know the rest of the Chadwick family (four brothers & two cousins 👀). Laura Pavlov is the small town queen and I already want to go back to Rosewood River!
This one wasn’t a new favourite for me just because I found some of the workplace flirting early on really inappropriate 😅 They go from strangers to 100 in a matter of weeks, and when there isn’t enough build up / angst in a workplace environment I feel icky about it 🥴
But once Easton & Henley were together their relationship was very cute as is always the case with an LP 🫶🏼 I loved the emphasis on working on themselves and therapy. I’ll definitely be picking up the second in the series!

A new series by Laura Pavlov and I loved the first instalment I could not read it fast enough!
Small town setting with a grumpy MMC and some fun banter between the two main characters.
Introductions to what i can only assume will be future books for Easton’s brothers. I liked that our FMC was a strong character even if she was more junior in the workplace.
I received this book as an ARC and provide an honest review.

This is a new series from Laura Pavlov and it's a hit with me. I loved Easton and his moody ways and how Henley broke the wall he'd built. This had everything you'd want from a small town romance. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

Steal my heart was my first read from this author, I’ve had my eye on Laura Pavlovs work for a little while now and been waiting for the right time to dive in.
What a start to a series! This book saved me from a what was sure to be a deep slump after reading onyx storm. The tropes list was killing it!

Steal my heart had everything I love about small town romance books, and the humour was spot on too! Easton was such a cutie even when trying to work through his issues I just felt for him even more I just loved his character! He’s such a lovable grump! The introduction to his family and brothers has me reaching out with grabby hands for his brothers books! Easton and Henley’s story pulled at the heart strings and also had me kicking my feet at just how damn cute they could be together.
I love a strong FMC and Henley showed a lovely balance of softness but taking no nonsense from people which I found refreshing, from the initial meeting of the couple Henley’s personality shines through she gives as good as she gets but first approaches with a sweetness which just captures the soft sweetness I found to love of her character. Henley is intelligent with a witty sass to her that had me chuckling away to myself at 1am. 🥰🤣
1 thing I love in small town romance books? COMMUNICATION! And Easton and Henley nailed it I loved how they supported each other and how their romance was essentially based on a budding friendship they have a genuine respect for each other and both were quick to reassure the other throughout the story. At one point I was worried for miscommunication trope but we swiftly avoided that territory so for the girlies who try avoid a miscommunication tripe this one’s for us 😘
This book also had a little bit of a gossip girl vibe the towns gossip column was a cheeky wee addition to the story and I found myself really curious to who the writer could be I hope we find out in a future book
As Stated briefly at the start of my review Easton had a lot of trauma to work through and while I didn’t find the topic triggering I could see it might possibly for certain people so trigger warning for grief
Strong start for this new series

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
book: steal my heart
author: laura pavlov
this is my first book by laura pavlov and i am SO mad that i didn’t read one sooner! she has the recipe for the perfect romance book. the banter between henley and easton had me laughing out loud at multiple points, and also shouting “YESSS” when easton demanded henley had respect from other men in the workplace.
i have already read another one of laura’s books this month and i am obsessed, and also so, so excited for the rest of this series!

My book bestie raved about Laura Pavlov's Magnolia Falls series so when I saw she had a new series out I was like this is a must read. I genuinely had quite high expectations for this because I loved the other books so much.
This story follows Easton and Henley. This story was all enemies to lovers, small town vibes, flawed hero, workplace/boss romance, brotherly banter.... there is a lot going on here.
I loved Henley. The thing I loved most about her was although she came from a rich family, which meant that she had the seemingly perfect life... She really didn't. She worked hard for everything she has including acceptance from people who were meant to love her unconditionally. She was so strong and patient throughout with Easton even when he was working himself out.
I normally love the MMC in a story and will usually always gravitate towards them. In this story that was not the case. I at times really disliked Easton, especially at the beginning of the story. As the story goes on though there were some redeeming traits and then it quickly went back to me shouting in my head why did you just do that!? I found him really difficult to like. The last part of the book though he did redeem himself considerably but even so he was not my favourite MMC.
The small town element and brotherly banter was amazing in this book and it had me chuckling at times. These aspects were well written and the side cast of characters were good as well and I am really interested to see how this series progresses.
If you like a small town romance that is easy to read, not too complicated then I would suggest picking this one up.

I loved this book so much, with everything that Laura writes I cannot put down till I have finished and this took under 12 hours to finish and I just fell in love with the characters in the book and the whole storyline

4.5 stars 2 spice.
Henley & Easton.
An amazing start to another series. I adore all of Laura’s series and the way they interlink without it impacting being able to read them as standalones.
This one in particular got me in the feels. The trauma rep, the genuine connection and building blocks for their relationship, and their family dynamics. It was well written, kept me engaged without using shock factor or anything that didn’t naturally flow with the story. I was invested in their relationship, but more importantly in both MCs as their own characters, with real growth shown in both of them without it detracting from their personalities and individuality.
I can’t wait to read more of this crazy family - the way they clearly love eachother whilst being able to have fun and laugh. Loved!

Thank you to NetGalley and Laura Pavlov for the eARC! ⭐
This was a cute read! In this grumpy x sunshine novel, we follow Easton and Henley who are two attorneys that end up falling in love whilst working together. Henley decides to move to Rosewood River and work at her father's law firm where Easton is working and he becomes her mentor. This story follows both their journeys of overcoming past trauma, especially Easton whilst falling for one another. Henley is strong, independent and so loving, I just found myself wanting to be her bestie, and I love her friendship with Lulu.
I just love small town stories in general, and it's my absolute dream to live in one.
A few reasons why this was a 3 star:
- I personally didn't love Easton, I thought he was an okay person for Henley, and I'm not sure why I didn't really vibe with him.
- I didn't like the insta-love/lust aspect of this book.
- Henley and Easton were also working on a case together in the book and I kind of wished we saw more of that build up, as it felt anticlimactic and ended too quickly.
Overall, an enjoyable read and my first Laura Pavlov book - I definitely see myself reading more from her!

Laura Pavlov is easily one of my favorite authors. She writes swoony small town romances that are all fast paced and you will not want to put down. Just like every other book I was hooked from the start. This follows Easton, who is a grumpy lawyer at the top of his firm. He will do absolutely anything for his job and to get his name up on the door. Then we have Henley, who is a bit of a nepo baby. She is the daughter of the guy who earns the firm. Easton thinks she is just being handed this job when in reality she was at the top of her class and had higher test scores then him. Through out this workplace romance there is a lot of tension, some trauma, and of course spice.

I really enjoyed this one! The only issue I had is that the beginning was a little slow! Could have gone without the from the office causing drama with them but that was a minor issue! Really liked the mental health representation, especially for it being with the male character. Can’t wait for the next book in the series!
