For eight years Claire, Tom and Isla have lived in a near prefect lifestyle until one fateful Tuesday when Tom disappears off the face of the earth.
Claire, with the help of family and friends tries to find out where Tom could possibly have gone.
Going back to his past and meeting characters Claire knew nothing about.
A great easy read, with a few twists and turns.
I thought this book was an okay read. It was an easy read but didn't really grab me ,I am not sure why I didn't enjoy it more. Maybe because I didn't really take to the main characters. Hope other readers enjoy it more.
Eight Years of Lies by Lisa Hall
Love reading books by this author , and this one is up there with the best .
Lots twists, lies and secrets, this one will keep you on your toes from page one. Loved the ending and it was completely a big surprise and kept me guessing.
Great characters who you could completely relate to and I was wanting to know how it would pan out for them .
Having struggled with a few books lately, the title of this book piqued my interest. Its held it throughout too. I was desperate to know why Tom Bennett had disappeared. . His wife, Kate certainly tried hard enough to find him. I thought I knew how it would end, but guess what, I was wrong but definitely not disappointed. A gripping read from start to finish.
Wow!!!! Lisa Hall has once again delivered a masterful domestic suspense and I devoured it in record time. This was by far my favorite by her and I can't wait to see what she has planned for her next book.
Eight years is a long time to live with and sleep next to someone only to discover you didn't know the real person beside you. This is the summation of Tom and Claire's marriage. Thinking she is truly blessed to have an adoring husband, a beautiful daughter, and a fabulous job, Claire is shocked to her core when Tom doesn't pick their daughter up from school and fails to return home. Though everyone else believes he left her willingly,Claire refuses to believe this is the case. Enlisting the help of her former boyfriend, Adam, now a police officer, she embarks on a mission to find Tom and prove everyone wrong.
Filled with so many twists, lies and secrets, this one will keep you on your toes from page one. The ending was a shocker for sure and left me thinking about it long after I finished reading. The characters were real and and easy to become emotionally attached to. The writing was spectacular with plenty of details and emotions. I highly recommend this book.

EIGHT YEARS OF LIES BY LISA HALL.
Release date set for the 19th of February 2025.
I love the cover of this book.
The blurb had me soooo excited to start reading.
The first chapter had me intrigued during it and by the end of the chapter i was HOOKED LINE and SINKER,
I was so excited turning into chapter 2 and let me tell you something this book was amazing iv'e loved every single second of this domestic thriller.
Lisa Hall always delivers the twists and there are some pretty wild ones here! I loved Eight Years of Lies, I could have easily read it in one sitting if I didn’t need to get up for work the next day. So addictive.l so full of tension and lies.
Claire thought she knew her husband Tom. Turns out she doesn’t know him at all. Who is this man that she married and where has he disappeared to? And the biggest question of all is why? Imagine the fear and the pain if this happened to you? when the police tell you that they can’t do anything to help you, would you take matters into your own hands?
Pick this up and just go with the story. Sure, not everyone would go to these lengths but isn’t that why we read, it was a fun escape read and I loved it. Lisa Hall is absolutely a must read author for me.
Thanks so much to Joffe Books on NetGalley for my advanced copy of this book to read. Publishes on February 19th.
Eight Years of Lies by Lisa Hall is a gripping domestic thriller that follows Clare Bennett, who believes she has the perfect family life with her husband Tom and daughter Isla, until Tom mysteriously disappears. As the story unfolds, Clare discovers a web of lies that shatter her perception of their happiness. Despite the unravelling deceptions, she remains convinced that someone is keeping Tom from them, though the reason remains unclear.
The storytelling is engaging, with a narrative that keeps readers on the edge of their seats. However, the leap in plausibility becomes a challenge, as Clare's willingness to walk into obviously dangerous situations to save Tom can be difficult to accept. This aspect of the story caused some struggle in fully embracing the plot.
Overall, Eight Years of Lies is a solid read. It offers a compelling narrative and well-crafted tension,
I received a free copy of, Eight Years of Lies, by Lisa Hall, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Claire thought she knew her husband Tom, but she did not. I thought this was an ok read, I did not care for the ending though.
Absolutely loved this book, hooked from the start and raced to finish it I had to know what happened to Tom.
After many years of marriage Claire and Tom seem to have it all sorted, a daughter who they both adore and a pretty perfect life, until Tom disappears.
Can Claire find him and why has he gone, has someone taken him?
4 stars
Tense and gripping - secrets and lies woven through a disappearance that cannot be explained. His wife won't give up and the trail leads to more than she could have imagined, and danger everywhere. Suspenseful and complex mystery.
I received a free copy of Eight Years of Lies through Net Galley in return for an honest review.
The story comes under the Domestic Thriller category, which in this case means an unsuspecting wife wakes up to learn that everything she though she knew about her loving husband, her darling little girl, which he brought to the marriage, his past and her future is a sham.
Claire , the wife, awakens on morning with LH ( Loving Husband ) Tom just leaving the marriage bed to shower. Claire, still warm, literally and figuratively, from the last night’ s embraces coaxes him back to the covers, but he has a busy day ahead. Tom is a stay at home dad, when he does not have to attend an interested house buyer . Claire is a full time lawyer. By the time she gets to the kitchen, Tom has made pancakes for their adorable ( of course) daughter.
So, reader, here is a doting, sexy husband , a perky child, and a professional woman mom. Life is too perfect. Yes, until Claire looks at her phone and sees a message : have you seen my family, with a picture of Tom and Isla. Zowie, what is going on?
Sounds a bit familiar. There must be an easy shelf full of stories like this one on the library shelves, and most of them are better written and more believable than this book. The writing is bland, the plot completely predictable. Want an example- when Claire goes to the police to report her missing husband and her worries about her child, the office at the desk is, yes, a former boy friend.
That was enough for me.
I cannot recommend Eight Years of Lies.
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this book!!
What a good book!! This one had me hooked from page one! I could t put it down. I loved the writing style of this book. I lived the characters and they had great chemistry.
I get a call from the school. My husband hasn’t picked up our 7-year-old daughter. This is the day my life changes for ever. Earlier, I was scrolling through Facebook when something caught my eye. A photograph. The caption beneath: PLEASE CAN ANYONE HELP ME? HAVE YOU SEEN THIS MAN? It's my husband and our daughter! Wow!! Great read! Some really crazy twists that I didn’t see coming! This book also had great suspense, murder, mystery, gaslighting, and some wild twists and turns! The story was very interesting! I highly recommend reading this book! Thank you NetGalley and Joffe book, my favorite, for sharing this book with me!
Just loved it.
Interesting characters and well written.
Kept me guessing that's for sure!
This is a case of really not knowing who your husband is big time!
My thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my copy.
The book was fine, but even with its many twists and turns, I could actually guess quite a lot. I profoundly disliked Claire whom I found totally immature and unrealistic. It did not help enjoying the novel. The other characters were not really convincing and not finally defined. An easy and quick read !
I received a digital copy of this novel from NetGalley and I have voluntarily written an honest review.
I really enjoyed this psychological thriller from Lisa Hall. It had plenty of twists and turns and really kept my interest the whole way through. A great twisty read with an OMG ending.
WOW!!! I could not put this book down! My god this book just kept on giving and getting better and better it was one of the best psychological thrillers I have ever read!
I was hooked from the beginning... I would give this a million stars if I could because ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars is not enough.
The characters were interesting and incredibly written my favourite was Tom even though some might disagree! I liked his character as he was always scheming and I wonder what would happen next for him!
This book was an exhilarating and riveting read and definitely must read for 2025!

Thank you, NetGalley and Joffe Books, for sending this eARC for review consideration. All opinions are my own.
Claire's normal, every day morning is rocked when she sees a Facebook post using a picture she took. The poster is claiming the picture is of HER missing husband and daughter, but they are, in fact, Claire's husband of 8 years, and their 7 year old daughter. When her husband goes missing that same day, Claire goes on a search for him, often with her ex, who also happens to be a cop.
I can't say I loved OR disliked this book. I don't regret reading it, but I found it lacking in unpredictable twists. Was good for a quick read.
Why do I think this book was punished previously under a different title. I knew everything that was going to happen. I’m pretty sure I read it. I did not finish it.
