This is the second translation of this book that I've read, so I didn't read it cover to cover but instead I've been dipping in and out of it. I found it very accessible and enjoyable to read. The wisdom of Lao Tzu is so encompassing and meaningful and I think it's great to have a translation that makes it available to all. Priceless!
I cannot comment on the validity/accuracy of the translation but then, whom amongst us can?
Wonderful book!

This is a beautiful translation, and the commentary helps with understanding. The whole idea of the Tao is so fascinating, and it seems like as much a way of living as a philosophy or religion. But this text is so well done that it is worth reading for the beauty.
Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this.

"Nothing beneath heaven
Is softer and weaker than water.
Nothing is better
To attack the hard and strong,
And nothing can take it's place.
The weak overcome the strong;
The soft overcome the hard.
There is no one beneath heaven
Who doesn't know this,
And no one who practices it."

This is an excellent translation of the Tao Teh Ching, with plenty of additional commentary.

Originally written in 1982, I did find some of the commentary dated at times. The book situates the Tao in relation to Abrahamic religions (primarily Christianity). However, I found the commentary by chapter much more useful and the translation itself is beautiful.

A wonderful translation of the book, which encompasses Taoist concepts. Highly recommended. Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for giving me a copy of the book.
