Although I have not read the previous books in the series I did enjoy this book. It features really strong characters and an great storyline. A woman disappears after visiting Three Pines and the inspector investigates the mystery throwing up some interesting facts. I will be interested in going back to read more of this series.

How could anyone who enjoys a well written crime story fail to enjoy this book? What a delight to have a principled and polite lead investigator and there cannot be one more principled and polite than Armand Gamache. Staying with the characters I found them all intriguing and the plot was suspenseful.
Not my first Louise Penny and definitely not my last... a clever author.
