The Prism Hotel, first day jitters, by Lee Pierce when the book begins, we meet Charles Grim who goes to a hotel, He’s never heard of. In a place He’s never seen a hotel in. When he walks in, he’s immediately told he’s gotten the job. The only problem is no one tells him what job and what he’s supposed to be doing. there is one rule however no matter what you’re doing. If a hotel resident complaints you must drop everything and fix the problem. they say there’s two sides to every story but what if both sides were right and no answer was wrong. when he finally hears his job title, it doesn’t clear up anything because he is the new “jack of all trades.“ he gets a partner in Becca, but she will not admit to being his partner and says she will explain everything but ultimately explains nothing. Throughout the day, he will learn someone has stolen something that could erase all of existence and because Charles is the jack of all trades he must fix the issue. This will bring him to a funeral in the car park, the strangest gift shop in the world, and he’ll even have a drug trip in the top guys’s office I haven’t even mentioned the concierge. When it’s all said and done, it’s just a days work. oh yes, did I mention Charles has a secret?… Well, he does. This is such a funny book and I absolutely enjoyed it. Total top notch funniness. If you love a good laugh, then you will definitely enjoy this book and I hope to read more by the author in the future.#NetGalley, #TheBlindReviewer,#LeePierce, #ThePrismHotel,

I thought the premise of “The Prism Hotel” was promising. You have a mysterious hotel with equally mysterious occupants and employees, and a clueless main character who gets thrust into a job he doesn’t understand, and gets turned into an unlikely hero.
I liked the witty and humorous tone of the novel, which is not very common for sci-fi novels I’ve read. It made for an entertaining and easy-to-digest read, which reminds me of TV series sitcoms or comedy series.
I just wish there wasn’t too much time spent introducing all the characters, such that when the story reached the conclusion, it all felt very rushed and a bit anti-climactic. I do understand that this is a first book in a series so I guess the author wanted to spend time with world-building and character introductions.
I hope that the action and excitement will ramp up in the next books of the series.

I loved this book. Day 1 of Charlie’s new job and you won’t believe what happens. I love the multi-layers…. Quirky, sweet, sci-fi and fantasy with philosophical undercurrents. Great book, looking forward to a sequel. Thank you to the author. Thank you to # NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC.

I felt that there were a lot of promising elements in this novel. I enjoyed the characters, the absurdist elements, and the callbacks (at least stylistically) to other favorite books of mine. I appreciated the number of times I literally laughed out loud, and there were also more than a few tense moments. It's a creative story, though sometimes hard to understand what's going on. Just go with it, and you'll enjoy how it all unfolds! It's definitely worth a read, and I'm looking forward to the future books in the series.

This book grabs you from the beginning and does not let go. Engaging writing and entertaining storyline

I thought this book sounded interesting even if it’s not exactly the genre that is my absolute favorite. We are dumped immediately into the action, basically, as the poor main character is, and neither one of us knows what’s going on. What follows is a slow reveal to us what exactly is going on, and poor Charlie has a job that’s mostly saving the universe. While this is well-written and fun, and I really liked it, it really isn’t for me. However, this will definitely be a favorite for those who like this genre. Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

This book is a lot of fun. Wacky setting, chaotic characters, and our poor hero at the centre trying to make sense of it all. The Prism Hotel feels like The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy meets American Horror Story: Hotel.

this was a good book! It felt at times the characters were unreliable so that made you skeptical right off the bat. It was a good thriller story with lots of twists and turns and also a lot of tense moments

Sometimes you read a book and think, this should really be a TV show. This is one of those books. Charlie's first day at a new job at a hotel, but he doesn't realize it is a multidimensional hub for all of existence, and he is somehow now responsible for keeping terrorists from blowing up all of everything. He thrown into the metaphorical fire before his shift even starts and somehow is a senior staff member in charge of almost everything, and that's before he knows his way around the ever-changing building. Confusion, chaos, dead doppelgangers, MIA cosmic entities, and a chance to be the hero that keeps us all alive.
While I tend to avoid books that advertise they are part 1 of a series, I decided to take a chance because it was also tagged as both SciFi and Humor, which is my personal catnip subgenre. What I love about this genre is the witty word play and nerdy references, which, sadly, this book lacked. The humor in this case was more along the lines of a sit-com where the characters are fumbling around, completely unprepared for their circumstances and making a mess of things, but in a funny way. See, I told you, this should be a TV show.
