An excellent reference book for anyone with an interest in WWII aircraft. Th e photographs are excellent, and not all are the usual run of the mill stroke photos on the internet. The Descriptions are also well produced giving an in-depth background to each aircraft type, its conception, development and change of role with time.
An excellent compendium.

This is an excellent book, providing many photographs and useful background information relating to Allied aircraft in WW2. Helpfully, it provides additional information on aircraft that often don’t feature in shorter guides to this subject. Some readers may feel that the addition of information reflecting changed views towards the acceptability of aspects of aerial warfare since 1939-45 is odd, particularly since the indiscriminate bombing that is criticised has featured in most significant conflicts since that time. However, it does reflect an important aspect of how views have changed over time. And, of course, nothing detracts from the courage of the airmen who flew such dangerous missions.
