I really enjoyed this book. Sarah Long is a new author for me. I loved the setting and the story held my interest. With thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

ah back with the gang and very glad to be here! this is a follow on from the book one. the first published in 2019 follows a group of retirees who aren't happy with just crumbling along so set off and buy themselves and their gaggle of friends a chateau in France. and it works. with a few spillages and leaks in between of course.
this book is a follow on but im 100% certain those who haven't read the first book would be fine in reading this one. it could def be a standalone.
we have new characters and new dynamics to witness in this one. we have the quirks and the laughs of course. we have all the great characters and the scenes are brilliant and witty and perfectly put.
im not sure how i would feel to move in with people i know. but they do each have a place of their own in this chateaux no way on top of each other so it very much works. its more like when you see those property shows where a couple has the chance of living in a slice of a castle.

This was a new author for me. And I didn’t realise this was the second in the series either but it could be read as a standalone. However one thing I will say is that there is just so many characters so sometimes it’s hard to keep track of everyone and everything going on. A nice read

A really great story based on retirees clubbing together to purchase a run down chateau. It was beautifully written which was funny at times especially when the previous owner of the chateau came to visit. Great characters and it was good to read their back stories. Fascinating to follow the interactions with friends and others who came to stay at the chateau.

This new book follows on from A Year in the Chateau, picking up the story a few years later. While there are many characters to keep track of, it’s worth persisting as the story unfolds beautifully. With its gentle pace and heartwarming themes, this novel offers a comforting and enjoyable read, perfect for those who love uplifting, character-driven stories.

This was a busy read . A second in a series but can read alone. You follow a group of mature English people who brought a Chateau to retire in. They open it as a B and B. Relations are wobbly. Babies are born. Lovely food descriptions . A pleasant Saturday afternoon read. A very neat ending which I liked .
