Eighteen years ago Leigh Brody was in Durham, New Hampshire attending college, when she alibis her boyfriend in a murder. After he is released she never sees him again. Now she has adopted her ex best friend’s daughter and has been called to her old college for another murder. While investigating, a hurricane is heading towards them and they are stuck in one building. No power or no way to communicate with anyone, Leigh believes she spotted her ex. When another girl goes missing, Leigh must find her before it’s too late.
Pretty good but I forgot this author, in this series, only writes one point of view. Suspenseful. A teenager. A killer.

FBI agent Leigh Brody’s life was turned upside down when she was sent to investigate the murder of twenty-one-year-old Alice Dietz, whose body was found in the courtyard of Leigh’s alma mater. Eighteen years before, another girl's body was found in the same place, and Leigh had given a false alibi to the police to protect her boyfriend, who had been suspected of the murder. Was this a copycat murder?
Leigh hadn’t seen him in years and feared he had returned to the area. She is anxious to make up for her mistake many years ago and uncover the truth about the current murder. A hurricane suddenly overtakes the town, trapping her inside the college dormitory where the murder occurred. Telephone lines are down, cutting off all means of communication, and someone inside the dormitory is following her. Is he back, and is another life in danger?
An edge of the seat thriller that will keep you reading until the explosive and shocking ending.

I love it I finished it in one sitting I love it when a thriller book makes you think hard and you are still thinking about it while your phone is charging can't wait to read more turning the pages and a new twist comes up and puts your jaw on the floor

The Killer She Knew by Nichole Severn is an absolute thrill ride of a book from start to finish, with a massive locked room vibe and a murderer on the loose that makes for progressively more intense reading as the book progresses. Throw in a hurricane, relationship tensions, and a bunch of college aged students who feel trapped, and the story reads like a bomb about to explode.
Severn reveals the killer in well-planned plot twists, and keeps you guessing as to who exactly is the serial killer. Her main character, FBI agent Leigh Brody, is an expert in getting into the mind of a killer, but not above having the situation around her, past and present, cloud her judgement. As a result, she finds herself in situations that have the reader holding their breath in anticipation and anxiety.
The Killer She Knew is expertly woven and suspenseful. Thank you for the ARC of #TheKillerSheKnew to #NetGalley.

This was unputdownable. I read it through in one sitting into the early hours of the morning, it was such a good read that just dragged me deeper and deeper into the plot. The behavioural work by Leigh on why people kill, what patterns mean and therefore what it meant for the growing number of victims was so interesting. The info was given seamlessly as part of the plot. There are several twists that kept me on the edge of my seat and so ever vivid scenes in stormy weather and freezing water.

The Killer She Knew is a fast paced read that will have your buckling your seat belt and hodling your breath .
Although this is the third book in the series you can read it as a stand alone ( I did ) but trust me you will be rushing to read the first two books in the series.
A young woman's body is found at Leigh's alma mater and it is a repeat of one that happened years ago.
Leigh was instrumental and getting the accused killer of by giving her then boyfriend an albi.
He cant be back , can he?
Making matters worse a hurricane has come inland and the students are trapped , the power is out and bodies are piling up.
Twists and turns, action plus keeps the lights on to the final page.
I am a fan of Leigh Brody and Nichole Severn and I am off to read the first two books in the series.
I will be first in line for the next case that Leigh Brody is assigned.
Thanks to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the opportunity to read and review The Killer She Knew and for introducing me to the series.

This is a heart-pounding thriller that will keep you up at night! Leigh is an FBI criminologist with an adopted daughter, Ava who is 15. Leigh met her first love, Dean in college but he was arrested and she hasn't heard from him since then. Now she is on the scene of a flooded building where it's apparent the power was cut and there's at least one dead body. U.S. Marshall Max Ford is on the scene and as the flooding continues, Leigh is caught up in a crazy nightmare as she tries to determine what is really going on as it appears there is murder as well! It's a great cat-and-mouse game that vacillates in time between "now" and "then" as we watch Leigh figure out this devious plan and attempt to save Ava.
Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC!

Another intriguing escapade for Agent Leigh Brody! The more I learn about her, and her history, the more I like Leigh. In this third book of the series, she is called back to her Alma mater to assist with a case eerily familiar to one that took place while she was a student there. Multitasking is the name of the game as she has to deal with the current case, past memories and mistakes, the unsteadiness of her relationship with her newly adopted teenage daughter, not to mention a hurricane that is compromising the crime scene as well as the safety of everyone she is sequestered with in the building. The setting is fraught with danger and the plot takes a few twists and turns; although I ferreted out the guilty party early on, I still found the story to be engaging and entertaining. I look forward to seeing how Leigh juggles her career, her new role as a mom and hopefully romance lurks in her future.

Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for my copy of The Killer She Knew by Nichole Severn
This is the third book in the FBI Agent Leigh Brody series, but it does work well as a stand alone.
Leigh has been called back to her old college to investigate a murder, one that is eerily similar to the death of a young woman whilst she was there.
Could it be the same killer after 18 years?
A great story of cat and mouse.

I wish I had read the first books in the series before this as there was so much back story which was relevant to this plot. The author gradually reveals this, but I was a bit confused at times and, as the plot is fast paced, the slow reveal was a bit of a nuisance. It’s a terrific read in terms of action and thrills, all set within the context of a shut-down campus during a natural disaster.

I have read the first two books in the Leigh Brody FBI Mystery series and really liked them. The Killer She Knew is book 3 in the series, and I had a difficult time getting through this one. I'm not sure if it was Leigh ruminating about events that occurred 18 years ago or the character of Marshal Ford that bothered me the most. I didn't like the interactions with Leigh and Ford.
I did like to see more of Ava this time around, but she was quite a rebellious teenager.
Overall, there were some good parts and good twists and turns to the surprising ending. I look forward to more in this series.
I would still recommend this book even though it was not my favorite. I would recommend this author and this series.

Nichole Severn is back with her third Leigh Brody crime thriller. In The Killer She Knew, the FBI agent is summoned back to her New Hampshire alma mater to investigate the murder of a college student. The twist? The murder bears striking similarities to another on-campus murder, eighteen years earlier - one that Leigh has ties to and that has haunted her ever since. Leigh is determined to fix her past mistakes and uncover the truth, but of course it won't be easy. As a hurricane wreaks havoc and more bodies drop, a killer (or is it killers?) lurks, and Leigh is quickly running out of time. This was definitely a page-turning, pulse-pounding story, though I had my suspicions early on. Severn throws in red herrings and twists to keep the reader guessing (and second-guessing, third-guessing...). I do hope Severn continues with this series!

Has he resurfaced after all these years?
This is a stunning example of the perfectly written crime thriller. Exceptional writing and gripping from the start.
It's tense and involved with just the right pace and a wealth of criminology knowledge by the author.
An outstanding book to add to your tbr.

This was a one sitting read for me! I had read the previous books so I was looking forward to reading this one. It didn't disappoint. Trapped during a storm and trying to look after her daughter, while searching for a murderer kept Leigh busy. I had my suspicions over who I thought the killer was and I was actually right (I did question my opinion frequently). There were clues to point towards who it was (easy to say now I've finished it). I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book

Leigh Brody, committed to her job and to helping others, adopted the daughter of her best friend who is in prison.
Called out to a murder scene that may solve a murder that took place Eighteen years ago.
For once, Leigh's instincts let her down, hoodwinked by someone she trusted implicitly. We can't all be perfect all of the time.
This is a book that will send shivers down your spine, full of twists and shocks.
Emotional and heartrending, Leigh's first concern is for her daughter.
Thanks to Netgalley and Storm Publishing for the DRC.

FBI agent Leigh Brody travels back to her old university to a crime scene she knows all too well. The victim is left in the same manner as a crime committed years before. Is there a copycat killer or is the original killer back again? I am a fan of the Agent Leigh Brody series (this being the third book) but this was not for me. Usually action packed, I just couldn’t get over Leigh’s unprofessional actions in this story (taking a minor to a crime scene, having a love affair at a crime scene) and the author did a great job of making me dislike Ava (a character who made her debut in the previous book). I’ve never like the unruly rebellious teen trope (who is the parent/adult?) but I found Ava unbearable and waned to skip over any part that included her. There are quite a few suspects to leave you guessing, but I had an hunch about halfway through and it was right. It is a quick read and although it is third in the series, can be read as a standalone with a few references to the previous book.

If you love a good pulse-pounding thriller I HIGHLY recommend the Leigh Brody series by Nichole Severn.
This is the 3rd in the series and FBI agent Leigh Brody is back investigating a true nightmare. A young woman's body is found at Leigh's alma mater, and this isnt the first. Leigh is once again haunted by her past (Ms. Severn is an expert at making the thrills compound as little bits and pieces unravel)
Just when it doesn't feel atmospheric and tense enough- a hurricane hits and causes all communication to shut down. With yet another young woman missing, Leigh must rely on herself and her wits to prevent another death.
This was intense- even more so than the last in the series (The Vanishing Wife- also a 5 star read)
and I couldn't put it down. The isolation from the weather heightened my nerves and was a perfect setting for this thriller.
Due out in February of 2025, I thank NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the opportunity to read and review prior to publication.

The third installment of Nichole Severn's Leigh Brody FBI Series has Leigh returning to her alma mater to help solve a murder that is identical to one that occurred when Leigh was a student. And, it's not just Leigh traveling to New Hampshire, she has her newly adopted, 15-year-old daughter, Ava, in tow... and Ava would rather be anywhere else than with Leigh. Working along side US Marshall, Max Ford, Leigh immediately notices the smiliarities to the murder committed years ago - one that she provided the alibi for. She lied to police, stating she was with Dean, to eliminate him as a suspect - and then he disappeared from her life. Leigh is certain that Dean is back on campus and murdering co-eds. She works with her former mentor, only to find he's not all she remembered him to be, and he becomes another victim. The story is told with flashbacks to Leigh and Dean's relationships intersperced with the duo trying to solve the current murders. Oh, and did I mention that the university is under a shelter-in-place notification due to the hurricane bearing down on them - and they have no power. This is such a fabulous series - I look forward to each and every book. A huge thank you to Storm Publishing for an advanced reader of this book - the opinions expressed are my own.

What a good read! Fast-paced, lots of action, unexpected murders, then some expected, I guessed who the murderer was, Leigh should have guessed sooner. Her fight skills are impressive! I like the realistic fight scene; there is no way a woman is going to win going toe to toe with a man who is in peak condition; that is reality, and I appreciate it being well-written; Leigh doesn't come off as being whipped; she comes out as a fighter! I appreciate being able to read this Arc, I enjoyed it immensely and can't wait until the next episode. I highly recommend it. Thank you #Nicole Severn #TheKillerSheKnew #Netgalley
