Thank you to Netglley for allowing me a sneak peak into this book
I know it took me a while to get stared but once I did it was hard to put down

His Other Life by Anna E. Collins is a shocking and intriguing story.
I was really invested in the characters and that made it a real page turner for me.

First, I want to thank Anna E. Collins, Bookouture and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.
Anna E. Collins combines the past with the present to bring her readers this beautifully written read. You may need your tissues on hand if you are a cryer at emotional reads like I am.
I liked the taboo aspect of the book where the Dental Hygienist reached out to her patient to see how he was doing after the appointment. I know that was so wrong on so many levels…but it was the one storyline I liked. Oh and I commended her to be brave enough to call him!
I liked how the book went back in time and we got to see written letters from Maverick to Cass.

His Other Life by Anna E. Collins is an engaging, emotionally charged story that keeps the reader hooked as it explores love, betrayal, and the pursuit of truth. The mystery around Jonah’s untimely death and the discovery of his secret life, had me intrigued from the start.
However, I felt the pacing was a bit uneven, with a large chunk of the book focusing on backstory and filler content before diving into the meat of the plot. This made the book feel longer than it needed to be. While the build-up helped set the emotional stage, it did sometimes feel like the story was dragging before reaching the key revelations promised in the blurb.
That said, once the plot started to unfold, I found it to be well thought through and believable. The twist was something I guessed early on, but that didn’t take away from the satisfaction of seeing it play out. The layers of Jonah’s secrets were intricately woven into the narrative, and I found myself invested in uncovering the truth.
As for the characters, I have to admit that they weren’t the most likable at first, especially the protagonist, who struggles with her emotions and memories. But as the story progressed, I began to understand them more, and by the end, they had grown on me. The emotional depth and personal growth of the characters gave the story a satisfying conclusion, even if the journey to get there was a bit slower than I would have liked.
In the end, His Other Life is a great three-star read. While I felt it could have been more concise, the well-crafted plot and satisfying ending made it worth the read. The book left me with a sense of closure and an appreciation for the journey, even though it took a bit longer than expected to get there.

2⭐️ Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for an advanced copy of His Other Life.
Isla has had a hard time moving on from her husband’s death two years ago. She feels responsible since she was driving but she has no memory of that night. She meets an elderly man while delivering for meals on wheels who wants to help her regain her memories so they take a road trip to the scene of the crash. She also has a lingering question as to why a woman named Gemma left a message for her husband the night he died.
This book had a big build up to absolutely nothing. I also guessed the twist pretty early on. The author was trying to tell too many stories at one time. The plot ended up being pretty far fetched. I was not a fan.

Isla’s husband was killed two years ago after an accident, however Isla is still struggling to remember exactly what happened. She decides to try and rediscover that day and as she sets her sights on regaining her memories, she discovers his secrets.
This ended up not being at all what I expected, however it was still a compelling read. I expected something a bit more twisty and fast paced but this was quite slow, especially at the start. I also found it fairly predictable. Saying that, the premise and Isla’s journey were interesting and I enjoyed discovering the characters, especially Isla and her connection with her friend Mav. This was a good drama but just a bit slow for me at the time of reading. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this copy in return for an honest review.

I was given this book by NetGalley for an honest review-
Two years ago her husband was killed in a car accident. She woke up in the hospital not remembering and heartbroken. She decides to return to the accident and see if she can remember. At the motel they had stayed the owner returns his jacket. She reaches in the pockets and there is note saying Call Gemma—- who is she? Did he have an affair? Grab this book for the answers!

I didn’t think much of Josh and the deeper I got into the book I didn’t change my opinion.
I was impatient a lot with Isla because I think she enjoyed wallowing and not moving beyond what occurred. Yes, she suffered a loss but one can’t just stop loving which is what she did.
I liked Mav the best. I has guessed the secret of his story fairly early on.
I thought Isla was very unfair to one character yet surprisingly accepting toward another whom had betrayed her. I couldn’t understand that dynamic.
The ending is good because everything was out in the open.

This book was a real surprise. Isla is trying to piece together her life following the death of her husband. Unfortunately for Isla there are gaps in her memory.
In all tine when friends have fallen away Isla comes across a group of people that become her friends and help her in her search for the truth.
This book is full of surprises and is a story is Isla piecing together a new normal and begin to be able to see a future.

Isla's husband was killed in a crash more than two years ago and Isla still wrestles with trying to figure out exactly what happened. She remembers being in the car with him at the time of the crash but not what actually happened, and its haunts her to the point of grinding her life to a halt. Thoughts of the accident consume her to the point that she's on the verge of loosing her job, her parents are at their wits end and she just needs resolution.
In her daily life which now consists of delivering Meals on Wheels, she meets Maverick, a spy veteran, who agrees to help her get to the truth. Despite being 90, he exude vitality that has Isla encouraged in a way she hasn't before. He helps her think that maybe by them going on a trip and recreating her past, it will help her move into the future. Slowly they begin to pice together her past even though she's afraid of what it might mean.
Isla dives deeper into her history and it bring flashbacks of scenes of her life with her husband Jonah leading up to the accident. They meet and befriend. Louise, who helps unlock more clues to the story, but we soon discover that Louise may offer more than just clues-she may be part of the story.
This was an emotional and touching read that is sure to resonate with old and young alike. If you've ever questioned who you are in the vast world, youll find yourself relating to each of these characters at different times.
Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for this eArc in exchange for my review.

I was interested from the beginning of this book. The concept was one I'm sure we can all relate to. If you go through something tragic and after all that start releasing there is far more to it and so much secret and lies surrounding what you thought you had.
This is what happens to our main character. And in order to move on she seeks answers from the last memories she has of the ore accident time.
But all turns on his head when she is passed her late husbands jacket and a key to his past. A key to his lies. And so now she has to find out exactly what happened and who exactly he was.
The time flits back and forth. Slowly revealing to us both the background and then the answers to the mystery which was very cleverly and smoothly done.

This starts with Isla still picking up the broken pieces of her life two years on from the car accident that killed her husband. An accident where she was driving but has no memory of. She is having a hard time, moved back in with her mom and barely leaves the house. She decides to get her life back on track starting with a trip to the place where her husband died and Collins takes us on Isla's journey as she begins to remember more of that night.
Originally, I was more interested in Maverick's motives and the possible stalker than Isla. We know from the book title that Jonah did have another life and get introduced to it pretty early through some back and forth between the past with Jonah and Gemma and the present with Isla. It takes until halfway through to get to that 'Call Gemma' note where it gets more interesting, the beginning of the book is a little slow and mundane life stuff.
But an enjoyable read with a few minor surprises and closure at the end. I wouldn't really call it heartbreaking. Sure it was sad that there was an accident but it is more about getting answers, closure and becoming herself again than the past. The description makes it seem more like a mystery while the book is more general fiction.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the copy for review.

Isla can't remember anything about the accident that took her husband's life. They were on a romantic anniversary trip.... and then he was gone. Now, a few year later, she's headed back to the hotel they stayed at to try to jog her memory. Unfortunately, when she gets there, she's handed her husband's coat and a note in the pocket says 'Call Gemma'. Who is Gemma? Why was he supposed to call her? With more questions than answers, Isla is even more intent on recovering her memories.
Ultimately, I liked this book, but I will say I think the description is a bit misleading. The way the little blurb is written it sounds like the story starts with Isla returning to the hotel and finding the note, so I ended up feeling like it was very slow when 30 or 40 percent of the way in she was just starting to leave for her trip. So it took a little adjusting genre wise since I thought we were jumping into an affair story and it took half the book to get there. In any case, once she got to the hotel the story moved a long a lot more quickly and I blew through the back half of the book and ended up really enjoying it. All of the characters are flawed but likeable and the storyline stays pretty believable, though I do think the women were painted as a bit too tolerant and forgiving.
Overall I recommend this one for fans of Jodi Picoult fans or anyone who enjoys an alternating perspectives family-based story.

Aww this is a beautiful emotional read. Full of amazing characters. Really easy to read. Sad but lovely.

The story opens with Isla, having lost her husband in a tragic car accident. She was driving and blames herself for his death. Only she can’t remember what happened. The beginning of the story starts out a little slow but then picks up speed around 20-30% of the way in. I was hooked from the very beginning and had to know what happened. Some of the twists were a little predictable but there was one I didn’t see coming. I really enjoyed this book and give it 4 stars. Thank you NetGalley for the advanced copy.

Isla and Gemma are connected by Jonah-but how? Isla had never heard of Gemma until she found a note in her dead husband's jacket. This moves back and forth in time to tell the story. It's a little different from the trope you might be expecting. It's well paced and. nicely written. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. No spoilers.

Honestly, I'm a bit lukewarm about this book, the first I've read from Anna Collins. Reading the description and comments/reviews previously I expected it to be more gripping, fast paced and thrilling. For me, this book was about relationships and the challenges we have a human beings. Yes, there was an unexplained death, yes, there was an affair and.... but really, the book unpacked how imperfect we are as humans. I liked most of the characters - Marv in particular, Rowan could benefit from further development but he was really a minor character. I wasn't surprised by any of the turns in the book - I expected to be - and was slightly disappointed about how everything concluded in a nice little package with a bow on it. That said, it was an enjoyable but slightly "beige" read that kept me engaged enough to complete. I appreciated the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review. Big thanks to Anna E. Collins, Bookouture and NetGalley.

A psychological thriller that you will want to readin one day. It was heartbreaking, gave me goosebumps as I read. A roller coaster of feelings.

A good level of suspense, tension and mystery and I thought the atmosphere ran really well through the book. The twists kept me guessing

I was invested in what was going on and thought it worked well overall in this universe. The characters were everything that I was looking for and enjoyed the overall concept of this. It was suspenseful and thought the twists worked well overall. Anna E. Collins has a great way of writing this type of book and can't wait for more.
