Super cute and great instructions. Guides you through, step-by-step, in a very detailed way, explaining how to draw all these wonderful characters yourself.

My only critique would be that you only learn how to draw these specific characters. I was expecting more of a toolbox to mix and match your own creations using this specific style. Also, the steps are the same for a lot of the characters. It gets a bit repetitive after you've tried drawing a few. Maybe a few pages at the start detailing these instructions would have been better than filling pages with the same over and over again.

As someone who isn’t a very good artist I found this book and the instruction guide to be quite helpful. It was fun to sketch the characters in the book

Unfortunately my download didn't work, but this looks super cute and I would consider getting it for myself.

I absolutely adored this Art Class book!

The characters are adorable, and the step-by-step instructions are detailed and precise. I appreciate how the book encourages using forms and shapes as the foundation for drawings instead of just focusing on outlines.
This book is a fantastic introduction for anyone interested in developing their illustration skills. It's also a great stepping stone for designing and illustrating unique and fun fantasy characters.

Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for the eARC of this title.

An utterly adorable book to assist with making chibi, anime style fantasy characters. I would suggest that this book is better for inspiration for high beginner or intermediate artists rather than a beginner's book on how to draw. While each character has a step by step instruction on how to draw them, it is in the one pose with one outfit. The introduction does touch on altering how a character stands, and changing facial expression, outfit, and accessories, it is very high level and doesn't go into deep explanation. The book is very encouraging, and has quite a variety of characters to choose from. The character key at the beginning makes finding the character you wish to practice drawing quick and easy. I would say this book is good to use if you are looking to try a new style or have a step by step instruction for specific characters, but may be frustrating for those new to drawing. I read this digital ebook through NetGalley.

Very Cute! I have enjoyed using this book in my daily art doodles - it's been a fab addition to the ideas bank! :)

This reminds me of those 90s how to draw X guides! That is essentially what it is but cuter.

The art is all chibi style and there's an extensive list of characters Naomi shows us how to draw. A lot of the body components are interchangeable with outfit and character styles. There's no reason you couldn't have a frog necromancer, for example.

I love that there's also a skeleton how to, all the fantasy dnd bases are covered. The addition of familiars at the end makes it special, rather than just focusing on a specific thing (humanoid chibi characters) Naomi has given you a wealth of inspiration to get running with.

This book would make a great gift for your DM, or whoever your party character sheet doodler is. Artsy anime fans would probably enjoy this. And children learning to draw as well. This is the type of book that you might benefit more from a physical copy to reference, rather than an ebook.

I really enjoyed this art book by Naomi Lord! After a brief introduction to anime, drawing basics, and drawing tools, Naomi takes readers on a step-by-step journey to learn how to draw 51 adorable anime characters from different settings, like the enchanted city and wild hamlet. She includes a section on bonus character familiars (pets), like a horse, griffin, snake, and dragon.

The drawings are very cute, progress in difficulty at each section, and Naomi offers options for both digital and traditional art. This is a great resource for anyone looking to draw adorable anime characters in a variety of settings.

Thank you to Quarto Publishing Group - Rock Point and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a free arc in exchange for an honest review.

This book brought back a lot of nostalgia for me! I remember being 4 and picking up “how to draw chibi” books and pouring over them with religious fervor. I wish this book had been around back then, because the instructions are so clear and easy to follow! I also like the way Naomi Lord does guidelines for anatomy, because I think it would teach new artists useful skills they could use to develop their own artstyle!

I highly recommend this book for anyone getting into art, or looking to try out a new art style. This would also be a great gift for younger artists!

I appreciated the table of contents in the beginning and the different sections highlighting each theme. The art style and all the character designs were beautiful. It was fun following along the steps.

Great step by step pictures for drawing adorable characters. I wish it would elaborate a bit more on coloring but otherwise the book is exactly as described

This is a super cute art book that will help you draw some adorable fantasy characters! Not only are the drawings fun and whimsical, but the lore and storytelling behind the characters add magic and depth. A lot of thought went into put into making the book exciting and fantastical!

Something else that I enjoyed about this art book was that it was divided into different sections: Enchanted City, Ancient Forest, Moonlit Mountains, Wild Hamlet, & Familiars! Each section feels like its own little world, making it easy to draw inspiration from the settings and characters.

As both a fantasy enthusiast and someone who loves drawing, I think this is a fantastic resource for beginners and experienced artists alike. It’s accessible, fun, and full of creative ideas for anyone looking to bring their cute fantasy characters to life!

Thanks again NetGalley for the ARC!

I'm not an artist and I only have a mild interest in drawing yet I found Naomi Lord's artwork so delightful that I had to give it a shot.
This book has easy to follow, useful information for any beginning.
Definitely recommend anyone interested in honing their skills pick up Cute Fantasy Art Class.

All of these characters are amazing but as a whole the Wild Hamlet group is the best!

This is the type of book my oldest would love, and I would definitely pick up a copy for her once it is released. She can follow along and create some fun and cute fantasy art.

I requested and received this book from NetGalley. My thoughts are my own.

This is a very cute and informative art book. My favorite section was the "Bonus Character Familiars" section. I've not seen many books that offer detailed steps for both character and animal drawings. Overall very enjoyable and informative!

This was so fun to go through, although I can draw anime, it was nice to use this to refresh my skills. It even helped me draw animals as I’m not very good at that. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to refresh their anime/manga drawing skills.

If you're looking for a super cute how-to-draw book, this is a fantastic choice! It doesn't just teach you how to draw adorable fantasy characters—it also dives into drawing whimsical fantasy animals. Perfect for beginners or anyone who wants to improve their drawing skills, this book stands out with its clear instructions and well-laid-out diagrams.

The art style is irresistibly charming, making it enjoyable not only for aspiring artists but also for those who simply want to try a fresh drawing style. Whether you're new to art or a seasoned artist exploring new techniques, this book is a delightful addition to your collection!

This is an adorable book, with a beautiful drawing style. It's a guide to drawing magical creatures in chibi style. It's evident that the artist knows what she is talking about.

The book's layout is beautiful, clean but not boring, with small details that elevate it.

Also, I liked the introduction with general drawing advice and recommendations, I would love some information about proportions since the "chibi style" has its own particularities. But overall it was nice overview of basics concepts.

That being said, I don't think the book is beginner-friendly as it implies in the introduction (and it might be on me for expecting it to be simpler). The tutorials are not very clear wording wise. You can follow the images, but they are pretty small to be able to identify every detail (not an issue in digital edition since you can zoom, but I'm wondering how it's going to work on print).

I think for people with some drawing experience this book will offer a lot of opportunities to create magical creatures.
And for those who like chibi style and magical creatures, it is a nice book to look at but not very easy to implement.

The characters featured in the book are so adorable and the step-by-step guide is great and easy to follow. I cannot draw at all and all my students know that. I tried drawing the Light Elf in the book. My outcome is of course not quite the best but it is a lot better than what I could have done without the help of the book. Some reviewers on Goodreads mention it being difficult to remove or cover the outlines. It actually is not difficult at all. Just use a pencil to do the draft outlines and ink the actual ones.
