Three Little Lies by Danielle Stewart is an intense and gripping psychological thriller that will have readers on the edge of their seats from start to finish. The story revolves around a woman caught in the web of her husband’s lies, and how these lies slowly unravel their seemingly perfect life. What starts as a romantic date night with her husband quickly turns into a nightmare as one lie after another sends their marriage spiraling into chaos.

The first lie sets the stage for the unraveling of their relationship. The second lie is even more damaging, leaving the protagonist wondering if she can ever forgive him. But when a third, much darker lie surfaces—one that threatens their entire family—her world is shattered. As police lights flash and blood is discovered in their garage, the protagonist is faced with the horrifying reality that her husband may have committed a crime. In a shocking twist, she finds herself torn between her loyalty to her family and the terrifying truth about the man she married.

Stewart expertly builds tension and suspense, keeping readers guessing with each page. The twists are unpredictable and the stakes couldn’t be higher, making for a thrilling ride that doesn’t let up. The emotional complexity of the protagonist’s struggle, particularly as she grapples with the conflict between protecting her family and facing the horrifying truth, adds depth to the story.

Three Little Lies takes a seemingly ordinary scenario - a family hosting a foreign exchange student - and spins it into an unsettling thriller that keeps you second-guessing every interaction. Jo never planned on taking in a student, but when she’s cornered by a persuasive fellow mom, she reluctantly agrees. Eden, a 17-year-old girl from England, seems eager and charming, but something about her doesn’t quite add up. As small, inexplicable incidents start piling up, Jo begins to wonder: did she just invite danger into her home?

This book does an excellent job of building suspense. Told from both Jo and Eden’s perspectives, it plays with perception and trust, making you question who is telling the truth and what they might be hiding. The writing is fast-paced, keeping the tension high without unnecessary filler.

That said, there were a few aspects that didn’t fully land for me. The portrayal of law enforcement felt exaggerated at times, and certain plot elements - like the mysterious notes - seemed underdeveloped, as if they were meant to be more significant but didn’t quite tie into the larger narrative. Also, Jo’s decision-making could be frustrating; she’s painted as intelligent, yet some of her choices contradict that image, making it harder to connect with her.

Despite these minor gripes, Three Little Lies delivers a gripping and original premise with plenty of twists to keep readers engaged. If you enjoy domestic thrillers with a creeping sense of unease, this one is definitely worth picking up.

Thank you NetGalley for an early copy of this book. When Jo agrees to take in an exchange student, Eden, for 6 weeks, she doesn’t know what she is truly signing up for. As more issues arise, things become tense in the house. When Eden goes missing and blood is found in the garage, Jo doesn’t know who to trust. Great story with a twist I didn’t see coming!

Done reading!!! What a ride! I was surprised by how captivating the story was, it had my heart pounding

It is a story about a family who took in a foreign exchange student from England, with the hopes that this high performing student would have a positive influence on the children particularly the daughter, instead it led to the unveiling of secrets that threatens to read the family apart.

The story was very captivating with many take away lessons for me especially about being an extremely anxious helicopter mom who worries about everything and is bent on being in control of everything concerning her children and family.

It is an 8/10 and Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced copy of this book.

This is a wonderful edge of your seat type of thriller. And it was just what I needed. I highly recommend.

Thank you Netgalley and Danielle Stewart for an arc in exchange for honest review.

This was a doozy. Jo is a helicopter mom with two children and a workaholic husband. When she’s presented with the opportunity to host an exchange student for six weeks, she’s thrilled, hoping it will bring her closer to her preteen daughter, with whom she’s recently had issues. Little does Jo know, the exchange student will be more than she bargained for when she suddenly disappears.

I was intrigued by the premise and felt drawn into the book right away. However, over time, it started to feel like a chore to pick up and became repetitive. The twists at the end were decent, and I did enjoy the ending for the FMCs, but overall, it didn’t fully deliver for me.

Wow, Three Little Lies was a fantastic read- there was something about it that had me glued to the book till I finished it. I love the way Danielle Stewart wrote the story, I thought I had the storyline sussed from the beginning but was proven completely wrong.

Jo is a stay at home mum to her teenage daughter Megan and son Aston. She’s spent her adult life making the most perfect family home life whilst protecting her son from his life threatening allergies and dealing with her daughter’s incessant jabs along with a husband who works away a lot. When a call for help comes from a school mum who volunteers for an exchange program, Jo takes on an exchange student from the U.K.

From the day Eden arrives, Jo has her work cut out and even more when Eden goes missing and her husband gets arrested. There was so much drama and suspense in one book, I struggled to put it down. The ending took the biggest turn which I really wasn’t expecting.

This book started off interesting but then dragged on, only for the second half to feel rushed with too much happening at once. It’s a well-written and enjoyable domestic thriller, but for some reason, it didn’t wow me - making it just an okay read.

Wow! This book pulled me in straight away and it definitely didn’t go where I thought it would! I loved the twists and turns throughout, it was dark and also sad and without any spoilers I absolutely loved the ending! This one ticked all the boxes for me. First time reading this author and I’ll definitely be on the lookout for more of her books!

Is this book reinventing the thriller genre? Nope. But did I devour it like my favorite guilty pleasure? Absolutely! Sometimes, a well-executed thriller is exactly what you need—and this one delivers.

Meet Jo: a stay-at-home, helicopter mom just trying to keep up with her tween daughter, Megan, and protect her young son, Ashton, who has severe food allergies. Meanwhile, her husband, Everette, is a classic workaholic—home just enough to be the "fun parent," leaving Jo stuck as the bad cop. And to make things worse? He seems to enjoy it. Yikes.

Desperate for some backup (or at least a break from being the villain), Jo signs up for an exchange student program. Enter Eden—a girl no one wants to host because of her severe food allergies. But hey, Jo already runs a practically double-kitchen setup, so why not? She’s hopeful that Eden’s arrival will help restore some balance in their home. Spoiler: Eden has *very* different plans.

This book is packed with unlikable characters, deliciously messy drama, and jaw-dropping twists. Some early reveals I saw coming, but those later plot turns? Total blindsides (in the best way). The red herrings kept me guessing, and by the end, I was fully invested! Also, the last bit actually had me teary eyed a bit.

Fast-paced, addictive, and packed with tension, this was such a fun ride. Highly recommend!

Thank you, NetGalley and Bookouture, for this ARC!

What a journey! This book truly kept me on my toes through out the whole story. I listened to the book, but had to finish it so read some of it because I couldn’t get enough. I loved the drama and the suspense. You truly never knew what was going to happen, and even at the end you will still be in shock because you would have never thought what was actually about to happen!

Three Little Lies is a tense and emotionally charged domestic thriller that grabs you from the start. The premise, built around three lies that unravel a family, is both compelling and unpredictable. The first lie, revealed during a romantic date night, sets the stage for a rollercoaster of emotions as the protagonist, Grace, begins to realize that her marriage might be in deeper trouble than she ever imagined. I was immediately hooked by her raw and relatable sense of betrayal and uncertainty.

The second lie is where things really start to spiral, and I found myself fully invested in Grace's internal conflict. She wonders if she can forgive her husband, but the tension is palpable as she also faces the fear of what he might have done. When the third lie emerges, it escalates into a thrilling, edge-of-your-seat situation where the stakes are suddenly life and death. The twist that unfolds in the garage, with blood and police lights flashing, was truly chilling and kept me turning pages.

What works so well in Three Little Lies is the combination of suspense and emotional depth. The characters are well-developed, especially Grace, whose determination to protect her children and her family makes her a strong, albeit conflicted, protagonist. However, I did feel that some parts of the story dragged on a bit, particularly with the repetitive moments of doubt and internal monologue. While they added to Grace's emotional turmoil, at times they slowed the pacing just a little.

Overall, this is an engrossing, fast-paced thriller with a lot of heart. The twists are well-executed, and the final reveal was both satisfying and surprising. It’s a solid read for fans of domestic thrillers who enjoy a mix of psychological tension and family drama. Definitely a book worth picking up if you're looking for a story that keeps you guessing until the very end.

Jo is a wonderful mother who cares deeply for her two children. Her husband travels the world for his job so it’s up to Jo to keep the home running and the family functioning.

When a fellow school mom asks for Jo’s help in hosting a student through an exchange program, Jo accepts after little convincing.

But things start to go wrong pretty quickly when 17 year old Eden joins Jo’s family. Things such as Eden talking 12 year old Meg into getting her ears pierced without asking for Jo’s permission.

However, the worst is yet to come when Eden is found missing when she should have been babysitting her host siblings. The police immediately arrest Jo’s husband and the lies and secrets begin to emerge.

I really enjoyed this book and the underlying frustration many women feel when it comes to raising your children. Trying to protect them from the world can be perceived as obsessive and controlling; others thinking you’re not protective enough call you negligent. It’s a very difficult tight rope to walk in today’s climate.

I also found this super engaging and kept wanting to read more! I’m super excited to read other books from Danielle Stewart!

Thank you NetGalley, Danielle Stewart, and Bookouture for the opportunity to read this in exchange for a review. Thoughts and opinions are my own.

They have the perfect home – Everett has a good job, Jo is a stay home mom to young children – Megan and Ashton (love this name). They take in a foreign exchange student, Eden. But inside every seemingly perfect home is always secrets and lies. So when Jo and Everett have a date night and leave the kids in the care of Eden, their evening is cut short when Megan calls saying Eden has gone missing. And when Jo and Everett return home, the police are already there ready to arrest Everett.

Ah, this was so good. I love a psychological thriller that hooks me from the first page. I read this in one sitting!

well, i didn’t see that one coming! what a wild ride Jo takes us on. each month, she receives a mysterious letter that says something like, i know what you did. but what did she do? as the harassment escalates, we’re left questioning her past and how it all connects. while i’m not sure how this element ties into the bigger picture, it does help us understand Jo’s mindset. at its core, this is a classic tale of an affair gone wrong—but with plenty of twists along the way.

What a thrilling read! I had no idea where the story was headed, but the unique and gripping premise kept me hooked. The author took me on a wild journey alongside the main character—I wasn’t sure if I liked her at first, but I definitely admired her. The plot twist caught me completely off guard, though Jo’s secret reveal felt a bit anticlimactic. Still, the overall plot was well-executed and kept me engaged!
