Just finished an amazing mystery book, and wow, I couldn’t put it down! Twists, suspense, and a story that keeps you guessing until the very end—highly recommend it!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It strikes a perfect balance between nonstop suspense and compelling family drama, keeping me hooked from start to finish. The way the dynamics between the characters unfold adds much depth to the story.
Three Little Lies by Danielle Stewart, when Joe is talked into taking in a foreign exchange student from England. She hopes it will help with her in 12 year old Megan’s relationship. Joe is a helicopter mom and worries about everything but when Eden joins the family at first. It seems like a dream come true. Joe will do anything to keep her children safe, unfortunately it dawns on her that Eden may not feel the same. To make matters worse, Joe and husband Everett are having issues and it seems he has been hiding something from her, but before they can discuss it, Eden goes missing and soon after Everett is arrested, but is everything as it seems or is there something much more sinister that hasn’t come out yet. when it comes to being a good mother, Joe goes above and beyond, but is all this an act? I found this book truly entertaining, and although I had read a story similar to this, I found this one to be different enough that I really enjoyed it. This was a great thriller and one I definitely recommend to others. I have read multiple books by this author, and she never seems to disappoint.#NetGalley, #Bookouture, #DanielleStewart, #ThreeLittleLies,
I enjoyed the book. It moved along pretty quickly and I enjoyed the characters. I wouldn’t say the plot is super original but I still enjoyed it!
This book was fun but something fell short for me. The writing seemed to drag on in places where I felt it could be more concise. The plot was fun, the twists were more predictable than shocking. There was nothing disturbing or dark. Something you sometimes need to be a physiological thriller. But it’s a fast read and not bad.
Wow, wow, wow! I loved this thriller. A new author for me but I am already searching for another book of theirs to read! This is fast paced, edgy, believable, and totally unguessable! Could not put it down! Had me liking then hating characters and questioning their every move…if you haven’t read it- read it! And then get your friends to read it! 5 stars from me!!

Book Summary (No Spoilers):
Jo lives a seemingly perfect life - a perfect husband working in tech and bringing in a hefty income, two children attending the most prestigious private school in the county, a big house, designer clothing, and powerful acquaintances. What could possibly go wrong and ruin her picture perfect life? The life she has worked towards since she was a teenager? Well, maybe it could be her lying husband. Or perhaps her rebellious 12 year old. Potentially even her son who has a deadly allergy for nearly every type of food. Truth is, Jo is always anxious about her perfect life going up in flames to the point she is labeled “controlling” and “overbearing”. Until one day she lets down her guard and her worst fears come to light.
My Thoughts and Review (Spoiler Warning):
This book was absolutely captivating. I couldn’t stop turning the pages to figure out what came next. As a huge fan of Freida McFadden and her psychological thrillers, I felt right at home with Three Little Lies. The character development was exquisite and the dialogue was easy to follow. I found some of the book quite predictable (I guessed nearly right away that Eden was Everett’s daughter and that Ashton didn’t actually have severe allergies) but this could be because I can relate heavily to Megan’s character. I grew up with a mother similar to Jo - anxiety ridden, smothering, and borderline psychologically abusive - so I expected the plot to end up how it did. With that being said, I don’t think the end was enough for Jo in that she should have been more punished for putting her own kids through abuse. It seemed as if she cared more about Eden and that Megan and Ashton were forgotten in the last few chapters, which I thought was slightly odd. So the reason I took off a star was I thought Jo’s ending should have been different, however, I understand the MC needing a “happy ending”. I also don’t think the book summary on net galley or Goodreads is very accurate - is there a reason the foreign exchange concept in the book is overlooked? It’s not a spoiler I don’t think, but I kept it out of my version of the summary just in case. The summaries that have been given are things that happen halfway through the book and the exchange student bit is more accurately what the story is about. I also found the reason Jo’s parents are “dead because of her” explanation wasn’t worth the bated breath and suspense. Overall, wonderful book and unique plot line. Would absolutely recommend to my mystery and thriller-loving readers and will be reading Danielle Stewart’s other novels in the future!

Stewart’s writing is engaging and emotive, vividly bringing the characters and their struggles to life. Each character is well-developed, with their own backstories and motivations that add depth to the unfolding drama.
The pacing is well-balanced, with just the right amount of suspense to keep readers guessing. The twists and turns in the plot are both surprising and satisfying, leading to an ending that ties together the threads beautifully.
a fun but kind of basic thriller - I enjoyed the writing and pace of the novel, but definitely felt it had the classic thriller twists I could predict. Overall did enjoy!
Jo, an overprotective and neurotic mother, is making the best of her life in suburbia. Her days are filled with taking care of her kids and playing house wife to her tech boss husband. When approached by a fellow parent at her children's elite school to host an exchange student, jo agrees, and eden enters her life. Then, a few weeks into the program, eden disappears, and Jo's life unravels as secrets and lies are exposed until everything comes to a head.
At first, I did not enjoy this book. Jo was so overprotective and controlling of her children to the point that I found it off putting. Her husband Everett's nonchalant way of not being involved in the parenting of their children was also incredibly frustrating. I didn't enjoy the book until Eden went missing, and the truth of who she is and how she was tied to the family came about. I wasn't expecting the twists, and I loved the ending.
I enjoyed the premise of this book, but the twist was a little predictable and I felt like the book got a little slow towards the end. I still really enjoyed it and would recommend to other thriller lovers.
Book Review: Three Little Lies
Wow—this book had me hooked from the very first page! Three Little Lies is a masterfully crafted psychological thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat and guessing right up until the jaw-dropping final twist.
The story plunges you into the unraveling life of a woman whose seemingly perfect world shatters after her husband’s startling confession. What begins as a tense domestic drama quickly spirals into a web of secrets, betrayal, and danger that had me turning pages late into the night.
I loved how the author perfectly captured the tension of a marriage in turmoil while layering in so many unexpected twists. Just when I thought I had things figured out, the plot veered in a completely new direction, keeping me second-guessing everyone’s motives and actions.
The pacing is relentless, and the stakes are incredibly high, especially when the story takes a dark turn involving the family’s home and their children. It’s one of those books where you find yourself holding your breath, wondering how far someone will go to protect the people they love—or the secrets they’ve kept.
If you’re a fan of thrillers with unreliable narrators, shocking reveals, and a constant sense of unease, this one is a must-read. It’s gripping, chilling, and deeply emotional, with a final twist that will leave you reeling. Three Little Lies is an unforgettable rollercoaster of suspense, and I absolutely loved every moment of it!
I loved this book!! There were so many twists that I didn't see coming. Would highly recommend this and I will definitely be checking out more from this author. Thanks you to NetGalley for the ARC.
Danielle Stewart challenges the idea of perfection in Three Little Lies with a Freida McFadden style story about a woman named Jo, and an exchange student Eden who throws Jo’s family’s perfect world into chaos.
This book is a great selection for those new to thriller or for fans of The Housemaid.
This book hit all my feelings. There was such an honest portrayel of mental health issues amongst the characters and the relationship between Megan and Eden was heartwarming at the end. I loved the characters were all raw instead of these polished everything is perfect characters.
I found myself really disliking Eden, but she brought it back and honestly that girl's story made me shed a tear or two and some happy tears at the end.
I don't have any critisicm for this book. It kept me hooked the whole way through.
Absolutely loved this book. It was very well written and the ending was a surprise. The characters were easy to relate to and get immersed into the story.
The story centers around Jo, an anxious, overprotective, stay-at-home mother whose husband Everett travels for work and is often absent. Jo’s two children, Megan and Ashton have their own set of problems. Ashton has severe food allergies and Megan, a preteen always butting heads with her mother.
When the opportunity to host an exchange student from England presents itself, Jo jumps on the idea to take Eden into her home in hopes to amend the relationship with her daughter. Quickly after Eden’s arrival, the dynamic within the home shifts. Little did Jo realize how taking Eden in would completely destroy her family in unimaginable ways.
One romantic date that that is supposed to fix the relationship and family issues turns into a missing persons scandal and all the lies and deceit that follow.
I was drawn into this book from the first chapter. The character development was written very well. There were a few twists that I did not expect and the ending was so beautiful.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookoutore for the Advanced Reader Copy!
Three Little Lies is billed as one happy family and two deadly secrets. Jo and Everett’s romantic date night was meant to fox their relationship. Until Everett says he needs to tell Jo something and in that moment she knows her marriage is in deep trouble. The third lie got him in trouble. The second lie ruined their marriage and the third lie could get someone killed. A gripping psychological thriller with a jaw dropping twist that will have you hooked. Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and the author for the chance to review.
I loved this book!!! There was never a “down time” where I felt “bored”. The twists kept coming and I was always guessing (wrong) on what was going on. I have not read a psychological thriller with this plot line before which was amazing since I often find them so similar. I would recommend this book!
I was definitely intrigued by the concept of this story, and the story ended up being pretty impactful, with a lot of great themes like anxiety and family secrets.
I wouldn’t say the twist was super shocking but it was somewhat surprising!!. I did enjoy how everything came together in the end.
Also, side note, there is this big mystery around something the FMC did in the past, but once it came out it was actually a bit of a letdown - I expected something much more intense and impactful.
I do feel the story was pretty well written and it was entertaining enough but I think I was just hoping for a bit more.
