this psychological thriller was such a great read! the first couple of chapters were slow but they needed to be to really set the scene and understand where the characters were at, so you’re able to really immerse yourself into the story and the characters.

i read this in one sitting and could not put it down, and i genuinely had no idea the direction in which this story was heading, every twist and turn had me second guessing.

really enjoyed this, 10/10, would recommend

This book was entertaining enough!! It would have been 5 stars for me had the end not been a little lengthy. Overall plot was great except I figured it out a little sooner than I wanted to!

Secrets, Suspicion, and Small-Town Shenanigans ★★★★☆

Three Little Lies is a twisty, small-town thriller that kept me hooked from the start. It’s got all the good stuff—family secrets, suspicious neighbors, and a creeping sense that someone isn’t telling the whole truth. If you love mysteries that slowly unravel layer by layer, this one’s a solid pick.

The story follows Gina, whose life gets upended when her estranged mother suddenly reappears, bringing a past full of secrets with her. As Gina starts digging, she realizes that some lies are so deeply buried that uncovering them might not be worth the fallout. But, of course, she can’t stop herself. (Would there even be a book if she did?)

Danielle Stewart does a great job keeping the tension high, and the small-town setting is perfect—everyone knows each other, and no one is as innocent as they seem. The mystery unfolds at a great pace, and I found myself second-guessing nearly every character at some point. My one little gripe? The ending felt a tad rushed. After such a strong build-up, I wanted just a little more time to sit with the final reveals.

Overall, a really entertaining, well-written mystery with great suspense and emotional depth. Not a mind-blowing thriller, but definitely one I’d recommend if you love domestic suspense and family drama with a dark edge!

I really enjoyed Three Little Lies by Danielle Stewart. In the beginning, as Jo receives these ominous letters, I lean toward that as the main storyline/plot. I was curious to see what kind of secret she was keeping from her family and to be honest, I leaned toward something crazy or outrageous. When Everett is described in the book, I just started to feel like there was something off about him before he arrived home. Not necessarily a murderer or anything like that, but the lifestyle and the way Jo talks about him raise a red flag. As the story progresses, I think as parents, we can all tell that she has the best of intentions for her children, even if it may seem overbearing. I was not expecting the ending AT ALL, but I think that is what I enjoyed most about this book. Even with the traumatic events, there is some hope for healing.

I would recommend this book to my friends who enjoy a "who do it" story with some twist. I want to thank NetGalley, Danielle Stewart, and the publisher for the eARC!

Thank you to netgalley, the publisher and the author for the advance copy to read.

I really enjoyed this suspense novel. Three little lies follows a family as they let a foreign exchange student stay with them for 6 weeks. What starts out as a great idea doesn't end so well.

The story was well written, the pacing was great and the single POV really helped with the suspense of the story. The characters aren't particularly fleshed out but it didn't detract from the entertainment side of reading this.

At times it was predictable but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I would highly recommend this to anyone who likes a suspenseful story, centered around family, lies and betrayal.

4.5 stars.

I thought this was a decent read, though it didn’t really match the synopsis and I also couldn’t figure out what the 3 lies were when it seemed like the book was filled with lies. The story centers on Jo, an overprotective mom who agrees to take in a teenaged exchange student from England. All does not go as planned and when the student goes missing, there is a lot of attention on Jo and her family.

I didn’t find Jo to be that likable of a character but I at least could see where she was coming from in most cases. I thought the author did a good job of capturing how kids act, especially Megan who is at that young teenage stage where your mom is so embarrassing. When the villain and their motivations was revealed, I felt that I had to suspend my disbelief a bit, but it definitely provided a unique twist. The ending tied everything up nicely (maybe even a little too nicely) but I was glad I wasn’t left with lingering questions.

Overall, decent read even if I didn’t really end up reading what I expected to read. Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Engaging and easy read. This is one of those books that you can pick up and not put back down until you’re done with it.

I enjoyed the basis of the story. Loving wife and present mother (albeit with a secret). Absent father (also with a secret). And a short term foreign exchange student (perhaps holder of the biggest secret). The storyline is fairly predictable - I was able guess a major plot twists about 1/3 of the way through the story and another halfway through but I still enjoyed seeing how it all unfolded in the end.

The character development was great. Although I didn’t particularly care for the personality of the main character, Jo, the author did a great job of setting the scene for where she’s at in her life and who she is as a person. We continue to see deeper and deeper pieces of her personality as the story progresses. Megan was the quintessential bratty pre-teen that we see move through the phases of thinking she knows it all and her mom is so annoying to learning that everything her mom does is because she cares about her deeply. And finally Eden - the author did a great job capturing the essence of a teenager. She goes through it all from acting as a nurturing “older sister” figure to the sneaking around and manipulation of Jo.

Although this book didn’t have my mind blown at the twists, it was a believable and captivating story. I would definitely pick up another book by this author.

A gripping psychological thriller. It's full of suspense and mystery, with lots of unexpected twists and turns that keep readers on the edge of their seats. Everything starts out innocently, an anxious mother with strict rules for her kids' safety. A father who is more absent than present wuth3his family and then a seemingly innocent teenager, they host as a foreign student exchange program. After that, it's one curveball after another, and everyone is hiding some dark secrets. Intense and fast-paced progression with enough emotional connection. The climax is good. Recommended for psychological thriller readers. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the eARC.

I am floored by this masterpiece. Going into this, I did not expect to be reeled in that fast. I will gladly read anything written by Danielle Stewart after this.

This was a freaky story about a family bringing in an exchange student. One thing leads to another… and a kidnapping occurs. You think you know what’s going to happen… and then BAM. Complete opposite direction.

I recommend this to anyone who loves Freida McFadden and Riley Sager. 4.5/5!!!

I enjoyed this book - I thought the antagonist's motivations were interesting and I definitely didn't see it coming. However, the protagonist becomes less sympathetic as the story progresses and although her husband isn't much of a stand-up guy either, the way the narrative blames him for everything feels unjustified. I also think the plot with Jo's past wasn't handled well, but it does influence my interpretation of how she reacted to the antagonist.

I’d like to thank Bookouture and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘Three Little Lies’ written by Danielle Stewart in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Jo and Everett Hargrove are asked if their family will host a girl from England for six weeks. There are some minor bumps along the way but the girl, seventeen-year-old Eden, gets on well with their children Megan twelve and seven-year-old Ashton although she isn’t always the best example for Megan. Jo is over-protective of her children but she has good reason to be, then Eden goes missing and Jo’s mother Ivy arrives from England to wait until she’s found.

Although the initial description of ‘Three Little Lies’ didn’t quite match what was written, it’s an intriguing story of interesting characters and how secrets and lies can destroy relationships. Three-quarters of the way through I guessed where the story was heading but there was so much drama, suspense and twists that it didn’t spoil my enjoyment of this well-written domestic thriller and I was just glad to be proved right. I was completely engaged with the story from page one as the tension steadily builds until the final chapters are reached and the truth revealed. I recommend this novel for anyone who enjoys a twisty thriller.

I really enjoyed this, and it took several turns that I didn’t expect! It was a page turning, easy to read and engaging book, with just a few niggly bits that didn’t quite work. Overall a great read, and I would definitely recommend it to other thriller fans!

Danielle Stewart's Three Little Lies delivers an exploration of betrayal, as a mother's carefully constructed world shatters under the weight of her husband's deceit. The tension rises with each secret and carefully constructed lie, creating an atmosphere of distrust.

I was consumed by the story's pace and the growing sense of dread. It was a true page-turner. I found myself not wanting to put the book down to see how the story would unravel.

This is a must-read for anyone who enjoys domestic suspense with complex characters and a plot that keeps you guessing until the very end.

This was an incredibly addictive and fast paced thriller, you could easily devour it in an afternoon. It follows a family and their experiences after inviting an exchange student into their home. Whilst parts of it did feel slightly farfetched and frustrating, the flow and storyline was really gripping and had me saying "just one more chapter", a brilliant read

I was very excited when I started reading this book, because it simply sounded like it would be a great story. After reading for not too long I got worried, because this book has the number one theme I cannot stand reading - overprotecting mother stories. I find them to be something I can't handle at all because they are repetitive, and quite frankly boring. I was quite worried this would be the main thing about this book, but luckily I was proved wrong. I did find the worried mother stage being too long, but after the story took a turn, I started enjoying the story to the fullest. My favourite character in this book is for some reason the daughter in the family, a clever 12-year-old girl.

Thanks NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review. This is my first book by Danielle Stewart and I am so impressed by her writing style especially her ability to hook the reader in in just the first chapter. I can honestly say I was obsessed with the story from the first few pages.

The story follows Jo, Everett, Megan and Ashton - a seemingly "perfect" family. They are wealthy, the children attend a prestigious private school and they live in a nice suburban neighborhood. But of course, the family isn't all that meets the eye. Bring in Eden, an exchange student staying with Jo and her family for 6 weeks and things start going awry.

The majority of the story is told through Jo's perspective, an overbearing, overprotective helicopter mom. Danielle does a great job of showcasing Jo's character's need to be in control and how that desire and need for control may be her demise. I liked that as the story progressed we see chapters from different characters perspectives which offered insight into why they were acting a certain way in previous chapters. The characters story arcs were amazing and characters all had depth and grew as the story unfolded. The twists and turns kept coming throughout the entire book and kept you guessing and wanting to know more.

Absolutely add this thriller to your TBR! I'll be reading more of Danielle Stewart in the near future after that amazing novel!
