First off, the writing flows effortlessly; it felt as if someone was narrating the story in my mind and I could visualize the scenes as they happened. Sarah Bonner’s excellent storytelling shines through in every chapter.
As for the mystery - a plot twist midway through caught me completely off guard. Sure, I expected a murder or at least a kidnapping, but what actually transpired was far more sinister - and at the most unexpected moment (or was it?).
I absolutely loved the writing and the characters. Quirky, saucy, and determined to get what they want - each character left a lasting impression.
My only complaint is that the story ends a bit abruptly. I wish the final chapters had more space for a shocking and satisfying denouement.

I don't what it is about this author's writing style but I like it! Intesting twist at the end....I wasn't sure who was going to be the killer....

This book had a great plot with intriguing characters. I’ll definitely be looking out for more from this author.

I really enjoyed Bonner's previous book and this is along the same ideas. I read a review where they called it a "popcorn thriller" and I agree - it is fun, fast, enjoyable read.
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the arc.

It's just as unique as How to Slay at Work! I loved How to Slay on Holiday. This time we are off on a blended family holiday planned by Chloe, who wants to knock off her husband. She has her reasons for wanting to do so -- but doesn't realize that there are quite a few others who would also like to see him dead. Things don't go entirely as planned. This dark comedy, thriller has great characters and you can completely imagine the scenes in your head as if you were watching a TV show. Highly recommended!

After the devilish delight I found in of How to Slay at Work, I hope this never ends. A brand new, bloody tale of female rage, murder and revenge wrapped up in a witty, pretty bow.
Our three narrators take us through a chaotic, twisty journey from different perspectives - giving us a new look at things we thought we'd figured out and making everyone a potential threat.
Chloe is going to kill her husband. And I loved her anyway. The way she tapped into that deep-seated frustration that all women have felt, the anger — and of course, how much airports are like the eighth circle of hell. Of course, as we learn there’s much more history between them, plenty of other reasons she wants him dead that we learn through her own thoughts and she thinks back to the years gone by, smoothly moving between memories and the present in an easy, conversational tone before switching to another member of the holiday party. There's Tori, who knows Chloe is going to kill her brother but wants to know why - and Grace, a concierge who isn't unfamiliar with dead bodies.
The story starts out with luxury, opulence, privilege— a picturesque summer. Then the notes start, people ask questions, and tension slowly starts to build. The countdown to the hitmans arrival always hanging over our heads through every page. The cast of characters; entitled, unlikable and all suspicious made everyone a potential threat, their ties to a dark underworld of crime, drugs, extortion and trafficking coming to the surface and tarnishing the facade of the perfect family we first see.
It twists out of hand in the most chaotic of ways, everyone with an agenda, thirst for revenge and their own ulterior motives just waiting to get the upper hand and make their play. Down to the very last line, I kept thinking I knew exactly what was next but again, Bonner manages to catch me by surprise.

Twisty and funny in equal measure, this is a thrilling mystery centred around women regaining their strength. I was hooked from the start and loved the insight into different character's heads. The ending felt a little bit rushed, but I did not see that final chapter coming! Sarah Bonner is fast a favourite author.
I received a copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

This was such a fun, action packed and thrilling quick read. Two powerful families get together on a vacation in Greece. Chloe has planned everything from meal menus to designated rooms for each family. She has also been planning to kill her husband Scott. This vacation is the perfect alibi. Things start to go horribly wrong when Scott is murdered a week early. Everyone in the Vila is a potential suspect. Who killed Scott? How was he murdered? Great read.
Thank you Netgalley for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

I'm a massive fan of these feminist dark thrillers. This one is next level good. Love the dynamic of both shady families and add to that being on holiday and the all the plots afoot - well you have the recipe for a really good, and utterly humorous holiday read. Sarah Bonner is fab!

How to Slay on Holiday is a funny and semi-dark thriller about a woman planning the murder of her husband, I really enjoyed it, and this was a fun, easy read. The plot was just twisty enough to keep you on your toes, without being overly suspenseful, which kept the pace of the storyline engaging!

How To Slay On Holiday by Sarah Bonner is a darkly comedic thriller that serves up suspense with a side of wicked humor. Chloe has meticulously planned her husband Scott’s murder, but to pull it off, she must first maintain the perfect alibi during a lavish family getaway in Mykonos. What should be a serene vacation soon becomes a pressure cooker of family tensions, with Chloe’s carefully constructed façade starting to crack. As suspicions grow and rivalries flare, Chloe realizes her murderous intentions might spiral out of control. Bonner expertly blends thrills, sharp wit, and intrigue in this fast-paced, twist-filled tale. Perfect for readers who enjoy dark humor and morally complex characters.

This was a funny but dark thriller about a woman planning the murder of her husband. It was twisty enough to keep you on your toes, but not overly suspenseful. It was lighthearted, but dark at the same time. It was almost like butcher and blackbird or lights out, but without the smut. I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to checking out her backlist.

Thank you to Netgalley for allowing me to read this book in return for an honest review. I really enjoyed this twisty thriller that gripped me from the beginning. An interesting blend of dark humour and domestic drama. The mix of characters was brilliantly written and I really enjoyed getting to know them. The ending was excellent and I certainly had no idea what was going to happen. A really enjoyable story that I will recommend.

The intro is quite catching. You’re an spectator of Chloe Wilson’s perfect extended family planned vacation to Mykonos. But is there such a thing as perfect? Chloe is snarky, sarcastic, and she’s been planning to get rid of her husband for months; studying the fine arts of how to get away with murder, ’cause why get a divorce when you can get revenge?
After that, Tori enters, the friendly sister-in-law, because these family layers are not as they may seem to the external observer. More than one murder may be in the works.
Then, there is Grace, the concierge of the luxury villa where the action is happening. But who really is who on this vacation?
That being said, the thrill slows down when you’re about 30% into the book, and the pace starts to drag. It picks up again around the middle, although the plot starts to become a bit messy and more complex than it should be.
The author is funny, and there is potential in the scenario. A good book to read sunbathing by the pool.

How to Slay on Holiday- Sarah Bonner
Even the dedication to this book is wonderfully dark and twisty.
Chloe hates her husband. And in her defence he, and his family, do not come across as the most likeable bunch right from the start.
Chloe has had enough and has set a plan in motion to kill her husband.
Her plan is slowly drip fed to us chapter by chapter as we get to know her story and their story and the real reason she wants him dead.
I was intrigued right from the start with this one. Soooo much I wanted to, needed to know. There's a hint of dark humour woven throughout that I loved.
I love Tori as a character, smart, observant underestimated and devious. It's in Tori's sections that we get real insights into the various characters and the back stories are fleshed out a bit more.
The twists and turns throughout the book kept me guessing. When you think you have it figured out, you haven't. Will she get away with murder or will it all blow up in her face?
Flew through this book in a day. A brilliant way to spend a storm day. So many plot twists and turns. Well written with oodles of suspense and intrigue and an ending I didn't see coming.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was another fun read by Bonner. She does great female leads that you love/hate and make you laugh but annoy you in equal measures. In this one you have Chloe, Tori and Grace who give their POV on different days.
With two drug lord families joined by marriage enjoying a family holiday to show a loved up husband and wife before she has him bumped off it's definitely not a believable storyline but great fun and I enjoyed their crazy world. I felt like the ending was a bit rushed and not quite as good as the rest, hence the four stars, but still an fast, funny, dark read.

Darkly Humorous..
Extravagant holiday means an alibi for murder most foul in this pacy and darkly humorous romp. Chloe has been busy making plans - to murder her husband Scott. Best laid plans frequently go awry, however, and chaos may well ensue as the extended family holiday in a luxury Greek villa that Chloe has spent much time planning gets underway. Can her real intent remain hidden? And what of those extra annoyances that might get in her way? Fun and frothy with much dark humour underlining some more serious issues.

DO NOT START THIS UNTIL YOU CLEAR YOUR SCHEDULES AS YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PUT IT DOWN!!!!… I absolutely LOVED…

I really struggled to rate this book as I’ve got such mixed opinions.
If I was rating based on the pace and whether it had me gripped then I would’ve definitely given 4+ stars. It had me hooked from the moment I picked it up! It was fast paced, easy to get into and super short chapters which is always a win. Sarah Bonner’s writing is fab.
However, there were moments that felt a little repetitive and unnecessary. The twist was good but the ending felt rushed and as though it was missing a chapter or two to clear things up.
Overall I’d say it’s worth a read & is a great holiday book. If I could give an extra half a star, I would!

Very average thriller that probably would make a nice holiday read for some, considering the title. The absurdity of the world portrayed in "How to Slay on Holiday" was a little too much for me, although probably it might have been done on purpose. However, there is a thin line between purposeful absurd and simple insensitivity to certain subjects matters. If this was a purposeful exaggeration it simply wasn't executed well, considering it's still unclear to me.
I would even fantasise that, despite a silly title, the author wanted to include some seriousness in the plot, such as spousal abuse and the warpiness of memory around traumatic events.
Crime novels by design are formulaic and truly it doesn't mean much that I correctly pointed the "who" i "whodunnit" almost immediately. But to slay at formulaic genres requires a bit more literary finesse.
