Just wrapped up "No Saint" by Donna Alam and honestly? I'm sitting here with pretty mixed feelings. You know that feeling when a book has so much potential but doesn't quite hit the mark? Yeah, that's this one.

So here's the deal - we've got this wedding planner who's basically forced to play pretend bride to save her business (relatable career crisis, anyone?). The twist? She ends up fake-married to Fin DeWitt, who happens to be the guy she had a steamy encounter thing with a few months back. Talk about awkward! Their chemistry is fire though, and I found myself actually laughing out loud at their back-and-forth. The side characters are pretty cool too - they add to the story without trying to steal the show.

Fin's your classic rich-boy-with-a-heart-of-gold (which, let's be honest, I'm usually a sucker for), while Mila's juggling her struggling business and caring for her grandmother. Sweet setup, right? But here's where it lost me - we're basically stuck in the same place for most of the book, and even for a slow burn, it starts to feel like watching paint dry. And don't get me started on Mila's "all rich guys are evil" thing - girl, we get it, but maybe give the guy a chance?

The spicy scenes? Chef's kiss! Worth fanning yourself over. And there are these really sweet moments that had me going "Aww." But sometimes I had to flip back a few pages because I couldn't tell who was saying what - a bit of a mood killer, you know?

Three stars from me. It's like a decent cup of coffee–gets the job done, and has some good moments, but isn't quite memorable enough to rave about. Perfect for when you want a quick romance fix with some spicy scenes thrown in.

I just finished No Saint by Donna Alam, and I had so much fun reading it! The story follows a wedding planner who, to save her business and support her grandmother, agrees to fake being a bride to throw off the press. Enter Fin DeWitt—the best man, a guy she had an unforgettable night with years ago, and now someone she has to pretend to be married to. Of course, things don’t go as planned, and the line between their fake relationship and real feelings gets seriously blurry.

One of the things I enjoyed most about this book was the chemistry between the main characters. Fin is ridiculously charming, and their dynamic kept me hooked. That being said, some of the banter felt a bit cringe at times—like it was trying too hard to be witty—but overall, the romance still worked. I also appreciated that the story had more depth than just the fake marriage trope, with some heartfelt moments and personal struggles that made the characters feel real.

If I had to nitpick, I’d say some parts of the story felt a bit drawn out, but honestly, the humor and romance made up for it. The combination of a swoon-worthy hero, playful tension, and just the right amount of drama made this a really enjoyable read.

Thanks #NetGalley for an ARC of #NoSaint in exchange for my honest review.

This is the second book in the “My Kind of Hero” series and it was nice to be back with the friendship group. I hadn’t particularly warmed to Fin in the first book, but he really is a sweetheart under all the bravado and perceived “playboy” persona.

The beginning / how they got together was a little tricky to get on board with, but there was lots of tension and spice throughout so I quickly got over that! Overall a fun and easy read.

This is the 2nd book of the series, but it could be read as a standalone. Fin and Mila had met previously but when both of them are at the wedding of their friends/clients, things take an unexpected turn. Mila's life is currently life-ing. The opportunity presented to her helps her situation. But she wasn't expecting Fin. And Fin! *swoon* He's drawn to Mila.
And he has to pretend nothing. He just needs to change Mila's mind. I couldn't read this book fast enough. I didn't want this book to be over. Don't let this book pass you by!

I was fortunate enough to get access to an e-ARC of this. I gave 4 stars because it’s very good and it gave everything I look for in a romance. The story was good and made sense. The main characters were extremely likable and I cared about what they were doing and their banter was great.

This wasn’t a 5 star read for me because I found the middle to be a bit slower paced and I would have liked it to move a bit quicker. Despite my impatience, the story continued to keep my interest, and I was back to thoroughly enjoying it when they linked back up with the side characters. The ending is pretty quickly paced, hitting the beats in the story that I was looking for in the middle.

If you are looking for a nice contemporary romance, this is a good choice. I personally consider it to be a cozy romance because the stakes are relatively low, and it is so nice to see a couple like each other with what I consider to be minimal bumps in the relationship.

Not for me.

I really tried to love this one— I really tried, but it was a struggle to get to the finish.
Fin and Mila as a couple wasn’t throwing off the vibes and chemistry I seek in my reads.

Mila was likely my least favourite thing in the book and certainly would be in my top ten disliked FMC’s. She’s irritating and determined to blame too much on Fin the MMC.

The book wasn’t all bad, and the writing was well done and the plot easy to follow… sadly the characters and lack of chemistry was a let down for me.
Just didn’t do it for me and was nearly a DNF at about half way, which isn’t usually an issue when reading Donna Alam.

Though, in saying that— what doesn’t work for me might be someone else’s bible.

Not Donna’s best work in my opinion.

I received an ARC for this title in the hopes of my leaving an honest and voluntary review— which I have just supplied, using an opinion that is solely my own.

When I began reading this book, I had high expectations due to my familiarity with Donna Alam's exceptional writing, and I was not disappointed in the least. The narrative took me on an emotional journey as the couple faced various internal and external challenges.

The dual point of view is my preferred writing style, as it provides deeper insight into the main characters' emotions. From the outset, it was clear that Fin cared deeply for Mila, which created a sense of curiosity and anticipation; this ultimately culminated in a heartwarming conclusion.

Mila was a relatable character navigating the complexities of everyday life. Having experienced significant heartache, she struggled with self-trust, as well as in her relationship with Fin. It was heartening to witness Fin's efforts to build her confidence and encourage her, even to the point of letting her go if necessary.

The chemistry between Fin and Mila was captivating. I found myself completely invested in their connection and rooting for Fin to win Mila's heart.

The balance of romance and intimacy was well-executed, with several themes explored, although there were also some closed-door scenes.

My only critique pertains to the title, which I felt did not resonate well with the overall story.

The epilogue provided a delightful conclusion to the narrative!

It was a good book. A fake marriage to real marriage trope.

It was hot and exciting, but I think it felt a bit flat. Or maybe I am too exposed to the dark world romance too much, that's why I felt like that.

But I enjoyed it until the very end.

Samantha and Stan had been friends forever and the attraction between them was strong. Except she was Lucas's cousin and he was Stan's best friend. The sparks between them were hot! She is living with a guy and it's a deadend between them. She gets harassed at her job and gets fired when the guy says she hit him. When she comes home, Stan hires her and continue to jab at each other. It's quite comical. They finally admit their attraction and act on it. They also keep getting almost caught In the act.
This story was well worth reading. You'll enjoy it.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Evie and Oliver are getting married, but they want to do it in secret.

What better way than to ask their best fried Fin and the wedding planner, Mila, to step in and pretend to get married for them?

Only problem is the two already know each other and sparks are soon flying.

I love how Alam writes the banter between these two characters, it was witty throughout.

I loved hearing from Rosa and wish there was more from her, although her illness was tough to hear about.

This novel was written from the character point of view of both the main characters and it was great to see the feelings and emotions that came out of these two characters.

This novel is part of a series but can be read as a standalone.

"No Saint" by Donna Alam is a charming romance that follows Mila and Fin, offering an intriguing narrative about unexpected connections. The story centers around a unique premise where Mila finds herself entangled with Fin DeWitt, a charming and sophisticated man who once comforted her during her worst day.
The novel's strength lies in the witty banter and chemistry between Mila and Fin. Their relationship develops with a mix of tension and attraction that keeps the pages turning. While the plot doesn't break entirely new ground, it provides an engaging read with moments of genuine connection and heat.
The characters bring depth to the standard romance tropes, with Fin portrayed as a sophisticated "Mr. Sin-in-a-Suit" who adds intrigue to the storyline. Mila's character offers a compelling counterpoint, creating a dynamic that feels both playful and passionate.
Despite its appealing elements, the book doesn't quite reach the level of an unputdownable read. It remains a solid, enjoyable romance that will satisfy fans of the genre looking for a light yet satisfying escape.

Mila and Fin's relationship is filled with tension. Their lifestyles are worlds apart—he's wealthy beyond his dreams, surrounded by admirers and a dedicated staff, while she struggles to make ends meet. She fears becoming just another conquest.

Mila's past heartbreak has her building walls, while Fin tries to break them down. Their connection is electric, filled with witty banter and undeniable chemistry. They can't keep their hands off each other.

At times, the dialogue can be overwhelming, making it hard to follow who's speaking. Nonetheless, the character development is engaging. I was pulled in by their laughter and frustration, and found myself rooting for them. I particularly wanted Mila to see how wonderful Fin was and how much he cared for her.
This story is perfect for those who enjoy steamy scenes filled with passion, but also appreciate moments of tenderness and love.

Having loved the first book in this series, No Romeo, I was really looking forward to the story of Fin and Mila in No Saint, and it did not disappoint. Donna Alam’s distinctive style of writing - a wonderful combination of seduction and hilarious banter - was en pointe. The way Fin’s and Mila’s story unfurled slowly - mostly without big outside drama - and the insight into their internal angst was lovely. I enjoyed having a story that so well portrayed people’s insecurities and anxieties and how the love of a good person allows them to overcome these obstacles. Donna writes good strong female characters, feisty and independent, and Mila was the epitome of these traits, and loved because of them not despite them. Of course there was lots of delicious spice too. These two couldn’t keep their hands off each other. A great read. Thank you to Donna, Montlake and NetGalley for the chance to read and review this book.

This book had me clinging to my kindle from the very beginning to the very end!

Not only did this book make me fall in love, it also broke my heart and then mended it. And there is nothing 1 love more than a story that can give me emotional whiplash.

I couldn't have asked for a better story, but paired with the author's amazing writing style… I was in heaven. The author had me falling in love while laughing and crying. The amount of emotion I was feeling while reading this book is surreal!

The characters were all very intricate and complex which made it easier to fall in love with them.

Fin seriously has my heart. The man would stop at nothing to show Mila how much he loved her! I will admit, at first I couldn’t understand why he seemed to instantly love her, but then I realized I didn't really care to dig too deep into it.at the end of the day, we all just want a man to prove how much we mean to them and Fin does not disappoint. I love that we get to see multiple sides of him. He is more than just a millionaire playboy.

Mila was a mess but I loved her for it! Her life may have been falling apart, but she kept trucking on. For this, I truly felt like she was more relatable.

Because of Mila's past, she was reluctant to pursue a relationship with Fin. Honestly, if I was in her shoes, I would feel the same way. Her hesitance was totally justified.

There was a tiny bit of mystery to this story.it was obvious someone or something was hindering her career but who or what? This wasn't a major part of the story but it was a nice little tidbit that kept me hanging on. I will say. I did not see that reveal coming.

Also, the banter between the main characters was unmatched! There was times they had me laughing so hard.

The ending was glorious! Mila finding her voice was everything I think we all needed.

Overall, I loved this book. Not only were the vibes right, but I didn't have any problems with this book. Hands down, I would read again.

I recommend to anyone looking for a millionaire romance. Especially if you are looking for an age gap.

I received a copy of this to read for free from NetGalley.

This really really really wasn’t my cup of tea. I figured out that from the first page alone but dragged myself through the rest of it regardless. The conversations give me the ick and the fmc is annoying. I give it 2 stars for the idea of the plot being interesting but this is a NOPE from me.

Loved this spicy book which includes finding self love and accepting who you are. Truly heartwarming but also wanted to pound the characters to speak out!!

While I enjoyed this book, I felt it a little disjointed at the beginning, getting the setting down and the whole wedding planner stand in as a bride. As the story evolved, the story did flow better. Myla and Fin did seem to fit together and as the story flowed, it was apparent Fin had no intention of an annulment. Overall a good read.

This was a fun and spicy romance. When Mila is hired to plan a high society wedding in Indonesia, what she doesn’t count on is the groom’s bestie being someone she hooked up with previously. Neither of them expect what happens next, an outrageously funny fake wedding with far reaching consequences!
I would have given this book a different title but I definitely enjoyed the vibes in this one.
