This was such a good read! Luca and Kylie had instant chemistry and the plot kept me entertained throughout the story. The spice was perfect and I loved the fake romance to real feelings trope.

CEO/Sugar Baby

I went into this book with high hopes for a fun spicy romp and while the spice absolutely delivered I found it harder to buy into the story than expected.

I don’t mind instalust but it felt a little forced with Luca wanting her the second he saw her from afar and Kylie’s personality left little to be desired.

It’s still a good read and I’ll probably read the rest of the series but it wasn’t an instant hit for me this time.

Thank you, Victory Editing and NetGalley, for an advanced copy of this book.
The book delivers on its blurb and is about a girl who decides to become a sugar baby and a man who owns the service. I liked the cover very much, and the blurb made me excited. However, I seem to be too old for this book.

I found a lot of things that didn’t work for me and struggled to connect with the characters. I did enjoy the promise of the book, but the pacing felt both fast and slow at the same time. The hero fell for the heroine just by seeing her on the street and then proceeded to discuss with his friends that she was obviously “wife material.” I didn’t buy it. The heroine decided to become a sugar baby to pay off her parents’ mortgage. As a parent myself, if my children did something like that, I’d die of mortification. This was primarily the reason I couldn’t continue reading past the 20% mark.

Overall, the writing was good, but the book wasn’t for me. I do think younger readers would enjoy it.

I rate this book 5 stars. I was a really easy and fast read. I never felt bored while reading. I loved the main characters and their relationship. Also the side characters were an added bonus on this book.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for giving me an arc copy of this book.

This is a really good book; I liked the dynamic between Luca and Kylie; their chemistry was great! I found the pacing a bit off, like some parts of the book were rushed through and others dragged out but overall a good book with a HEA and no cheating, 3.5 stars!

Read this in one sitting - this new author has a GREAT future ahead of them.
It’s instalove, with a hero falling first, but it’s done in a sweet way.
The only feedback I’d give to this author is to slow burn the connection between the leads a little more (insta-lust isn’t my preference unfortunately) and the hero could have been a little more fleshed out more. But other than this feedback, I can’t wait to see future releases from this author.

“Kylie Davis’ life has been filled with turmoil recently, so she seeks out an opportunity to help her family out financially. The plan is simple—make fast cash, save her parents’ home, and walk away.

But nothing is simple with Sweet Connections and Luca Morelli. A chance encounter between the Kylie and Luca, leads to the beginning of a business arrangement that quickly spirals into so much more than either bargained for.

Sweet Deception is a steamy, high-stakes romance about love, sacrifice, and the fine line between trust and betrayal”

My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3 / 5)
The spice is spicy 🌶️ , but the story line fell a little short for me. It’s a good smut read, but if you’re looking for more “depth” this one may not be it. I felt like it was missing something to make it “memorable” and for me to recommend to everyone. With that being said - I’m interested in future books with Gio and Rafael!

✨ This is an ARC review and Sweet Deception will be released on Kindle Unlimited on January 17th, 2024!!

Thank you NetGalley and Monroe Beckett for the opportunity to review this book 🤍

Monroe Beckett’s Sweet Deception is an enchanting romance that surprises readers with its depth and emotional intensity. With a compelling storyline and richly developed characters, this book is impossible to put down once you start. From the first page to the last, it delivers everything a romance reader could hope for: a heartfelt connection, swoon-worthy moments, and a dash of realism that makes the story truly resonate.

One of the standout elements is the dynamic between the protagonists. The “guy falls first” trope is executed beautifully here, creating a love story that feels both tender and passionate. The male lead’s unwavering focus and adoration for the heroine add a layer of charm and intensity to the romance, making it impossible not to root for their relationship. His acceptance of her circumstances without judgment showcases a refreshing depth of character, while her hesitancy, shaped by her upbringing and her father’s role as a cop, adds a realistic and relatable conflict.

Beckett’s writing brings the characters’ emotions to life, drawing readers into their world and making their journey feel authentic. The attention to detail in the character’s motivations and backgrounds enriches the story, making it more than just a romance—it’s a tale of trust, growth, and overcoming fears.

Sweet Deception is a captivating and well-crafted love story that keeps you hooked from beginning to end. Monroe Beckett delivers a romance that is as heartwarming as it is relatable, making this a must-read for fans of emotionally charged and deeply satisfying love stories.

I throughly enjoyed this book. The relationship development between Kylie and Luca was great it wasn't too over the top instalove but not too much alpha male. The side characters through the story helped bring the story together that I want to read their stories. The premise and plot of the story of Kylie signing up to be a sugar baby and the owner of said agency decides to have her for himself was a different take I haven't read before. There was no third act breakup which I loved and no real miscommunication, which is always a microtrope I can struggle with. Overall this was a great read!

Kylie is in a desperate time, and that calls for desperate measures. Luckily, her roommate has the perfect solution! It all seems so easy, what could possibly go wrong?

I truly loved the development of Kylie throughout this book. It was also extremely astonishing the amount of plot twists i experienced! i was thoroughly expected the usual steamy billionaire romance kinda vibe and was so pleasantly surprised at how much more this had to offer. The spice was SPICING and i was so thoroughly hooked at the same time. It really was an incredible read.

This was a decent read! The description did describe what the book was going to be about and it didn't over-project the content of the book.

I liked the relationship between Kylie and Luca. They had good chemistry and a good relationship. I usually don't enjoy instalove, so that is on me, but it was still done well.

I think the biggest reason for me not enjoying this book was something else - it wasn't the book because this book is pretty good. I just came out of reading a suspenseful romance book and maybe I should have waited to read this because my mind was still on the book that I had read previously. If I had given it some time, then I think I would have fully enjoyed it.

Thank you to Monroe Beckett, Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op, and NetGalley for this arc! 💕

I wanted to love it and there were a lot of things I did like. But, honestly this was a little rough. The sentences didn't flow easily in some places and unless I misread the whole thing for Luca, the attraction started with a glance which just seemed weird. I would have liked for them to meet before he jumped in. I liked the female main character and the idea of the plot. His personality comes off really strong in a way I can't put my finger on, and maybe I was expecting more on the lines of mafia romance. The blurb made it sound more romantic with steam and spice. The male just wasn't working for me. Every chapter written in her POV I loved. Like if it had been a little more believable on his part I'd have marked it higher. So I'll go 3.5 but close to a 4 because it was entertaining.

Stop it. Why am I so in love with everyone in this book. And I can picture it beat for beat playing in my head like a movie. I'm obsessed with this book and can't wait to look for more books by this author.
