Well this was much more bonkers last time round (https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/6415482349). Here, this Book Three reins in the wackiness, and gives us a slightly straight drama instead, where our dinosaur hero and his human friends have to work out what is going on at the town museum. Turns out it revolves around a mummy exhibit, and so a spurious deadline is put on things and much drama and hot chocolate (and many disguises) have to be employed as a result. It was alright, but I think it actually needed the weirder elements of before – where they'd been under control they added to the fun, which we're not getting in the same amounts as last time. Three and a bit stars.

This is loads of fun! Aliens, monsters, Egyptians, secrets and museums. Rex and his friends have to help a friend in need… all the while Rex is the new security guard at the museum. Loads of fun and the illustrations just make me so happy!

I didn't notice that this is the third one in a series and dived right in. It is perfectly fine to read it on its own without reading the first two ones before. It is absolutely hilarious, beautifully illustrated and full of endearing characters. I found Rex absolutely adorable.
