I'm normally not a manga reader but I really did enjoy this story and thought it was sweet and intersesting! I do hope to read more volumes!

I love love the mangaka. I had the pleasure of reading a one-shot manga they'd released so I was already a fan of the art style. That being said, this manga had me kicking me feet. I love gap-moes and this is right up my alley. I cannot wait to read volume 2!

I think it’s slightly underwhelming that their “dark sides” are just them being like… real people? I hope this theme is either expanded on or explained more in future volumes. However, the characters are charming and the art style is beautiful. It also definitely had me laughing out loud multiple times.

It was a cute first chapter of a romance manga. I loved the art style and I am looking forward to reading more. Thank you for the early copy!

Really loved the art style and the Kare Kano comparison was spot on! However, the plot felt a bit rushed for my tastes (the female lead has already fallen in love and realized their feelings by the end of the first volume) and there's some issues with characters telling information that should be more shown (e.g. the male lead frequently references how "badass" and "cool" the female lead is, despite the reader only seeing her talk back to some boys in the first chapter). That being said, I'm still excited to see where the story might go from here!

A fresh and very nice manga to read!
Otogi and Toki are high school idols: kind, handsome, intelligent, perfect... At least, that's what they want those around them to believe. But the top of the world is very lonely, which sometimes causes cracks in the mask. I had a great time with them: I laughed a lot, the young woman is so sure of herself that some of her interactions seem completely crazy, the young man is readable and at the same time very mysterious.

I also loved the graphic style, especially the character designs which I found beautiful.

In short, I loved this first volume and I can't wait to discover the rest of this manga! ^^

I enjoyed this story. I was really intrigued by the cute, heartthrob outside but something else on the inside but I wanted more from Ikkuko. I wanted a tougher guy and obviously this is the first so I’m going to read the next one to see if his personality gets a little more edge to it. That scene with him grabbing Otogi and tilting her head back is going to live rent free in my mind. I would love to have Ikkuko’s POV. I loved the Cupid illustrations and the silliness of Otogi’s body seemingly ignoring her thoughts so find ways to hang out with Ikkuko. Looking forward to some great banter in vol 2!

I requested and received this book from NetGalley. My opinions are my own.

This is so much cuter than I thought I would be. I really like the way the author played with the dichotomy of people. Everyone has two sides. The side they show everyone and aside only those closest to them see. I love the art it's beautiful. The cover art was what originally drew me to this manga. The character designs are really eye-catching. It's just such a pretty manga. The blurb/description solidified my want to read the Manga. It's just vague enough that I was thinking of infinite poss bilities of what might actually happen in other story. And it was both more wholesome and more badass than I thought it would be. There's so much pining in this story. I wish we got a dual POV though. So I could know for certain it was mutual planning. But, I have a feeling (because of the genre, title, and context clues) that Ninomae and Otogi feel the same way for each other. I'm so excited for volume two.

The book is engaging from the get-go. I loved the fast pacing and the flow. The artwork is great and nice to read. But I am giving it 3 stars just because of the predictability.

Overall, it's a decent manga. While this volume doesn’t have anything that sets it apart, there is potential, and I am slightly curious to see if the next volume offers something more.

Thank you, NetGalley, for the advanced review copy.

Okay so there are a lot of things I didn’t enjoy about this but most of all I did not like that when Katsura is being assaulted by her teacher she simply writes it off as her being too beautiful like of course she would get assaulted she’s a beautiful 14 year old girl. And then ikkoku used that moment to get evidence sure but just completely doesn’t take the situation serious and that’s supposed to be our love interest??? That is an immediate no for me sorry. Other things I didn’t like were just how juvenile the story was and characters acted which might not be a flaw cause this might be more for younger people which is fine if you get rid of the above scene. Idk maybe I could’ve pushed through this and given a solid three stars but that scene I spoke about was done awfully

Thank you NetGalley and Kodansha Comics for the ARC! Class president Otogi is almost too perfect: beautiful, smart and kind, but underneath, she hides a secret. She's actually sharp-tongued and fierce. Toki, her beautiful male counterpart, is her ideal, but when she slips and shows her darker side, she fears Toki's reaction. But, what is she to think when Toki himself reveals a darker side to his perfect exterior? Is everything ruined or could this be love? A fun and quirky story of two people who aren't who they pretend to be, but have happily found someone that they can be their true self with. Perfect for fans of quirky, school romances.

This was so freaking sweet... KMT has been on my TBR ever since I first heard about it, and it totally lived up to my expectations!

Otogi and Toki are two class presidents with a secret side—one they can only indulge in with each other. They're both so endearing, and I can't wait to see the progression of their relationship.

I'm a sucker for a good Shojo manga... especially if it's a rom-com. It's rare that I get attached to two characters so quickly, but I'm really rooting for them!

Sending a big thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

3.5 Stars

Fall In Love, You False Angels 1 was a solid start to a shojo manga series however, I was a bit disappointed by the 'twists'. Otogi and Toki's twists I felt would be more drastic but they're both decent people and the twist just felt more like that they were not perfect people. Which is a high bar for anyone to try to match especially for two highschool students. I enjoyed the character design and there were some funny banter and I did like the little nickname scene at the end. I felt that was a sweet set-up but I think I just went in with a different expectation as to what these characters may have been like. That being said, I am interested in seeing where this series goes and am excited for the 2nd installment.

Again, my thanks to both Netgalley and Kodansha for lending me an e-ARC copy of this manga. This fact has not affected my review at all, which are my own thoughts.

And they are great thoughts, because I liked FIL,YFA more than I could have expected. We follow two perfect-looking teens: class president Otogi, and the class' other paragon, Toki. Except, neither of them is as sweet as they present to the world, and as slip of Otogi in front of Toki could ruin her reputation at school, until he slips the mask off too and reveals that they're more alike than expected at the other end of the spectrum.

This is a very introductory volume, presenting the characters to us, the world they live in, how they present with these sweet personalities and spreading kindness everywhere they go, until the inciting incident happens: Otogi reveals her personality to defend herself from some douchebags, risking her diplomatic relationship with Toki, until he does the same, reveals himself and helps Otogi get rid of the other guys. From then on, they (mainly Otogi) navigate their relationship quite on tiptoes.

As a romance manga, the main plot is the two characters getting together, and so there's not much else they do, except ally with each other to help the school's students, for they are still the people every other person goes to for help with their issues and school bullying and molesting. Even when it comes from a teacher. That's the case that they deal with in this manga. And I can't help but wonder if they're going to bone over helping every person in a five-miles radius, or if more things will happen? Also, I hope Otogi gets her moments to shine and be the one to get Toki out of a problem, or else she'll fall in the "damsel in distress" trope and I will loose all interest I could have ever had for this manga. Moreover, because Otogi is shown been capable of solving her own issues herself, and while I don't mind Toki being around and helping her if she asks, so the romance is developed as they spend time together, I want the opposite to happen too, or that they resolve things on equal levels. That way, the romance and any type of relationship they develop won't feel unbalanced.

That would be my only issue with the story so far, an issue that I hope changes in future volumes, of course. The characters are likeable, the world is well-defined and, in my opinion, the pace at which things are starting to unfold is slow but feeling natural, which is what I always look for in a romance, to take its time for the characters to get to know each other and develop those feelings organically.
Also, Otogi realizing she might be starting to develop a crush towards Toki so cute to witness, but also so funny!😂 I really like how the mangaka writes it all, capable of combining serious moments with comedic ones without making it awkward.

Finally, as with any manga, I want to comment the art, which, in the case of FIL,YFA falls into a semi-relistic style, well suited for the romance genre and the demography it is directed at. The detail of the characters design are the ones that stick more out of the page, defining them as well as differentiating them form each other, while making the world more background and, some times, less defined, though this tends to work in favor of the characters, highlighting them and putting them at the center of the spotlight.

Fall in Love, You False Angels is the start of a manga series that features a blossoming romance between two unlikely personalities with both cute and serious moments between the main pair and all the supportive cast of characters. I'm not one for reading into the romance genre, but this is one I'll recommend.

This story was quite charming. And funny.the main characters seem like two perfect people, but both have a hidden side.
Loved the premise and the character interactions. Can't wait to read more and see how their relationship grows!

Thank you Netgalley for allowing us to discover this title.

I'm very pleasantly surprised because I really liked this great manga. Obviously, there are hints of “Kaguya-sama: Love is war” but I also think there's a “Horimiya” vibe and the combo works superbly.

We don't fall into the clichés we thought we'd discover here when we started out, no, no! It's both very funny and serious at times. We can't wait to find out what happens next and see how our two “angels” live out their adventure. And the drawings are sublime, so what more could you ask for ... ah if I want to find out what happens next! haha! :)

This was a very cute start to a series. I loved how expressive the FMC is, and I'm enjoying the story so far. I'm curious about one of the side characters so far, and I have been loving the art and little sketches. However, I am hopeful in the second volume, we will learn more about his feelings when that comes out. Thank you, NetGalley and publishers, for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I was not expecting this dynamic xD
It was a fun, easy and quick read, I'm curious to see where it ends up, and I'll for sure keep following this series. Recommend it!

The two “angels” of the school turn out to be not so perfect and they begin bonding over their secret.

This story was so quick paced and cute I loved it. The art style was perfect I would not change a thing about it. I found the characters quite interesting and I can’t wait to see how their stories will end up. Otogi and Toki were a cute dynamic I can’t wait to see them grow. This book was really nice to read in my opinion because these days it’s pretty hard to find a simple school romance where not too much is going on and I feel like the artist and author did well at telling the story without adding too many extra things.
