Really cute subject!

Would be great for fans of Au no Haru or Miyamori. A very wholesome read with some undertones of mystery later on.

The cover for this manga drew me in right away. I really love the colour palette they used for the characters. The art style throughout the whole manga is really wonderful.

Although this might not be the most original plot for a manga, I thought it was cute and well done. I liked seeing the contrast between the main characters actual personalities and what they should everyone else.

I was a bit thrown off by starting it out with a chapter focusing on a teacher sexually assaulting students. I think it’s an important thing to depict and show how wrong it is, but I wasn’t expecting it two chapters into a over-wise pretty lighthearted manga.

I love shoujo manga and this was a very fun first volume! The character art is gorgeous and I've always enjoyed the student council trope. I can definitely see myself continuing this series when the next volume releases.

It was different. I don't really read this kind of manga. But I enjoyed it. Love how it shows how people can show a different side of themselves. I would read the next one.

I absolutely LOVED this volume. Both of our mcs are sweet kind class reps who have a secret identity they keep to themselves. I thought both characters were refreshing and loved that not only do they both have a “dark” side to themselves, but our FMC doesn’t care to speak her mind when she needs to! I’m excited to see how the series progresses and to see how their dynamic grows! I already pre-ordered the first two volumes and cannot wait to continue reading! I'm trying to decide if I want to rate this 3,5 or 4 stars.

First things first, the art is absolutely wonderful.
But I gotta be honest, the beginning of this manga didn't hook me. It felt quite stereotypical and a bit lame. I mean, our main characters have a "hidden side." This hidden side is they aren't always super kind. Our female lead can stand up for herself. OMG SHE'S A HORRIBLE PERSON.... yeah...

The first halve is them finding out the other has this hidden side (that's mostly just being a normal person). The second halve is actually pretty good. We get into the coffee store, where we learn about Ittoki, and we get some backstory. But more importantly, from this chapter onward, the interactions become really natural and fun. Not just between our leads, but also with the guy from the cafe, and the twins back at school in the final chapter.

The twins are the kind of typical identical but opposite personalities (or that's how it seemed from the beginning). Interestingly enough, Nene-kun going on about Ittoki made him seem very in love with him. I think having him actually be into Ittoki would be a really interesting thing, because you don't see it often in shoujo manga (except for yaoi/shonen-ai, which is aimed at girls, but has a different audience from regular shoujo manga). Obviously, I've only read the first issue, but if they do go that way, this could be very interesting.

The last two chapters really made me interesting in this series, where at first it felt very stereotypical shoujo manga. Obviously, I don't know if the series will lean into the aspects that make it interesting, or if it will fall back on the oh-so-familiar shoujo manga tropes, but I have high hopes.

I was really looking forward to this one, it had a lot of potential, but unfortunately it just didn't really work for me

Plot and background art are lacking. The character art is adequate. There isn't much of an ongoing story between chapters other than the characters hiding their "dark sides" from classmates. The problem is that their "dark sides"/flaws aren't compelling so it all falls apart. The leading lady Katsura's "dark side" is supposed to be that she's "badass" and a bit of a delinquent but that doesn't show up anywhere. I couldn't even figure out what the leading guy Ninomae's flaw was supposed to be...having an undercut hairstyle?

This Shōjo manga follows Otogi Katsura, the charming and admired president of her year, and Toki Ninomae, her seemingly perfect vice-president. While they both appear flawless, their pleasant exteriors conceal more complex and layered personalities that they wish to keep hidden from others. As their relationship unfolds, we get a glimpse of how their contrasting sides evolve in this high school romance.

One of the manga’s highlights is its art style. The characters are physically distinctive, which is impressive given the black-and-white format. The unique looks of each character make it easy to tell them apart, which is something I really appreciated. The tonal shading is beautifully done, adding a lot of depth to the scenes, and the backgrounds are detailed and immersive, bringing the world to life.

The concept of dual personalities is really intriguing, and it's interesting to see how the characters balance their outward appearances with their inner selves. However, as the story progresses, the theme of dual personalities starts to feel a bit overused, especially as it extends to other characters and their conflicts as well. While I expected more conflict or dramatic tension when these sides were revealed, the "dark side" of the characters ultimately came down to their ability to stand up for themselves, which felt a bit underwhelming. The quieter, more subtle approach has its charm, but I would have loved to see a more intense clash between their personalities. Despite this, the nuanced and gentle interactions between the main characters still bring a unique depth to their relationship, making the story enjoyable overall.

While the pacing could have been a bit faster, with some chapters feeling more like recaps, the sweetness of the developing romance between Katsura and Ninomae more than makes up for it. The contrast between their personalities adds a lot of warmth and depth to their interactions, making their relationship all the more endearing.

If you're new to Shōjo manga, this could be a good pick. It respects the basics of the genre, with its high school setting and gentle romance, but it doesn’t necessarily stand out in a way that will blow you away. Especially if you enjoy high school romance with beautiful artwork, this book is definitely worth checking out. While the plot might not be the most dramatic or intense, the contrasting personalities of the main characters and their developing relationship offer a sweet and enjoyable experience. If you're looking for something light and visually appealing, this is a great choice for a relaxing, easy read!

The ‘hidden’ sides to these characters isn’t the best - it’s just that they aren’t always nice, which I didn’t quite get? That may be an issue if I missed something though!

I friggin LOVED this manga. It was absolutely adorable. I giggled and swooned. The artistry is SO GOOD. I watch anime so I can just imagine some of the scenes and they are just hilarious.

Watching Otogi come to terms with being crazy about Toki was so sweet. And seeing how Toki can’t help but laugh and be himself around Otogi? The cutest.

Seriously, I kept showing the Hubs different scenes. This is going to be a manga that goes on my shelf because it’s just too cute not to. I can’t wait for more!!

I was very up and down with its one. There were parts I thought were just the most boring things ever, parts I thought were terrible, parts that I liked, and parts that had me considering a DNF.

The premis... Its just so not that serious. I just did not like the execution of the premise. It is so teenager in the bad way that I don't like anymore. Sometimes teeenagers completly fine and dandy, like this though NOPE.

I'm going to give this a firm not a recomendation.

Fall In Love, You False Angels, is a fun teen romance. The love interests are two students who have manufactured a flawless image to their parents, school and community. Pretending to be perfect can be exhausting, so when the facade is blown one afternoon, it is a relief to reveal their 'real' selves to each other.

The cover was the main reason I read this book BECAUSE LOOK AT THAT BEAUTY 🤌🏽 Probably one of the prettiest covers I have ever seen in the manga series.

Anyway, the storyline of this manga series reminded me of Kaguya-sama: Love is War, but Fall In Love, You False Angels, is more on the serious type of way execution, whereas Kaguya-sama is more on the comedic route.

The ML of this series is giving me yandere vibes feeling, but soft?

Love the FL as well. She's so fun to be with, and the friend.

The art is fantastic, very eyecatching! The characters and their hidden sides are great, Katsura in particular is very cute with her trying to hide her "dark" side and maintaining her perfect facade. I love seeing how confident she is, and it's great that Ikkoku likes both sides. The blooming romance is intriguing, and I'd definitely like to read more of them. I imagine translating this must have been challenging given that Katsura and Ikkoku speak differently when in their "dark" sides, but I think the translation managed to convey their speech. Good job to the translator!

Otogi is beautiful and kind, the perfect Madonna who everyone at school admires as the "heartthrob angel." But that's just a mask she wears to hide her true self: tough, over-it, and tough-as-nails. The only one who can stand beside her is the kind and prince-like Toki, perfect and smart just like her mask. But when he witnesses her slip and shows her true personality, instead of being scandalized, Toki reveals a hidden side of his own. Can Otogi keep up her facade and avoid falling for Toki? And what are Toki's true feelings and intentions?

It's a very cute and funny story. I love the idea of the two class angels actually being the opposite of everything expected of them just from how they look. It's a nice twist that pays off in some truly fun and tender moments with the potential to have a lot more.

The art is typical of the genre, which is perfect for the story because it shines whenever Toki and Otogi are at their cutest while also working perfectly to show off their emotions.

I'm invested in the characters and look forward to seeing what comes next.

the two main characters are these top notch students; they’re popular, everyone admires them and wants to date them but they both hold a secret “other side” to them that they don’t want anyone to see.

honestly i feel the “secret” here was a little stupid bc it’s just them not being total pushovers and getting angry at people doing rude things. the secret just may not have been displayed enough in this first volume. despite that, i gave this manga a 4 star because (1) it’s a well drawn manga with a pretty art style, (2) i can definitely see a lot of potential in this series & manga is hard to judge off the first volume alone, (3) the concept isn’t overdone yet. a lot of mangas follow similar plot points but i didn’t go into this manga seeing any other ones similar so i liked that.

i would love to see the characters built out more & more contrast between their normal selves and their “alter ego”

i will look forward to seeing where this series goes!

It’s super cute. I love the plot and story. I only wish it was a little longer. Ikkoku is really gonna make her work for it and I love that. I hope in vol 2 we get some heart strings pulled or she tries to make him jealous to see her.

I love the concept of a blossoming romance between two people that can be a safe space to be their true selves only around each other. I’m kind of hoping I see some protective jealousy in the future lol.
