This was absolutely delightful and an excellent kickoff for the series! I loved how the characters' dynamics evolved, with their connection becoming sweeter as they shared their hidden sides with one another. I can’t wait for the next volume — this is going to be amazing!

I'm absolutely in love with these characters! From the character design to their differing school and real life personalities. The whole theme of this series being about finding the person or people that you can truly be yourself around means a lot to me. Maybe that's why it hits so hard for me, but it's really fantastic. I want to read the entirety of the series right now. If it stays as good as it is right now, I'm definitely going to want to buy the series in physical. 5/5 Stars

We have Katsura, the class president, a super sweet girl and they say that when she looks at you, you'll be charmed by her beauty; and likewise, seemingly out of heaven, the class vice president Ninomae. They are, in short, perfect and radiate an aura of sweetness and respectfulness.
Until an event on the train makes Katsura bring out his explosive side and Ninomae loves it and his tough side also comes out and this makes Ninomae fall MORE in love with him, now they are partners in crime and only act like this when they are alone together.

And this secret will make them become closer and maybe, feelings will blossom from this situation.

The truth is you don't know how much I enjoyed it, it was a super simple story, quick to read and above all very entertaining, it kept me hooked from beginning to end.
The art is beautiful and I think the story has a lot of potential, I'll be on the lookout for the next volumes because I enjoyed it so much!

A charming beginning to what I am hopeful will be a really sweet and lovely shojo series. The different side that no one knows about doesn't really seem like that big of a deal, but I can understand it when you spend so much time and effort into creating this persona for the world to see so I am excited to watch our main characters relationship develop.

The side characters were also cute.

I really enjoyed the romance in this. It’s a bit silly and a lot cute. It plays out the whole butterflies in the stomach, overthinking, wanting to be near them but not wanting to put them off thing, which was super sweet.

I did tire a bit of how beautiful both characters were meant to be. They’re the most beautiful in their school. She’s known as their “Madonna”. It was said so many times the novelty wore off very quickly.

But I did like that it’s not their looks that draw these characters to one another. It’s the sides they don’t let anyone else see.

It was a fun, quick read, but I’m not sure I’ll continue the series.

First of will say I enjoyed reading this story, as it was a bit different than the normal shoujo series. The art was beautiful and liked the color scheme of the first two pages after the index.

Katsura is the first year president and most believe she is an angel; however, what they don't know she has a different side to her. Well that is until one day Katsura is being hit on by some guys when she is waiting for the train with Ninomae (first year vice president). Katsura's other side comes out and to her surprise she learns about Ninomae's other side too. This surprises her, especially since she was observing him for a week; but finds herself liking this side of him too.

The series so far is progressing and flows well. It is not a one time thing where we see their other sides, which is nice in my opinion and not just one of those details that is lost as the story goes on. We also slowly learn more about the characters and see the two's relationship build. Love Ninomae's childhood friend, just jumps right in to show her Ninomae's younger self and almost blurting out something that would make Ninommae embarrassed (which I'm gonna guess it was along the lines that she was not his girlfriend "yet"). Overall I really enjoyed it- was a quick read. I can't wait to read more of this series!

*The closest series it reminded me of is probably Switch Girl! So if you like series where the character has a switch in personalities around certain individuals this would be one to check out.

My teeth are ACHING from how sweet this is. It’s such a great start to the series and I will absolutely be reading the next volumes.

The mmcs are such a refreshing take on the popular “sweet” characters that are common in these types of mangas. Watching the Fmc’s crush develop was adorable and realistic.

I have had my eyes on this manga for a while now and I am so excited that I was able to read it early~ 

In this one we meet two characters, our MC Katsura who is class president, who is all sugar and sweet and everything nice, she is the pure girl and the most popular in the school. But what no one else knows is that she is actually the opposite when she is outside of school/when she is sure no one else is there. She is all spice. And doesn't mind giving someone a very spicy telling of her mind! I really loved the juxtaposition of this and I am kinda hoping that she will show this side not just to Ninomae but also to others, I am all about honesty after all and I am sure that people will still love her. 

Next to Katsura we also have a boy named Ninomae. He is the vice president and also looks like a perfect angel with his long locks and sweet smiles. But he also has a secret side and that long hair? Well that hides a lot more than you may expect from such a sweet angel. I loved that he also had another side and I think that side just fits so much better with him than the soft/sweet side he shows in public. Just like with Katsura I hope that he, one day, can show both sides without thinking. 

So we now have two characters who are total opposites to how they act in public and I just loved it. But what I loved more? Is these two figuring each other's secrets and getting closer and closer, having fun together, trying to keep up their public sides when their secret sides want to get out, and we see them fall in love. Katsura was already very swoony about Ninomae and even had a nickname for him Ikkoku. We see her constantly swoony and cupids arrows flying about. I am seriously shipping these two and I hope that in the next volume they are able to confess, or at least Katsura to Ikkoku! We get an orientation camp next time (given the last panel) and we all know that camp is a perfect spot for these confessions~ 

The art was just gorgeous! I love every bit of it, especially the facial expressions were just A-plus. 

All in all, a very swoony and fun manga and I can't wait to see how it continues~ I would recommend it to all looking for a fun/funny but also sweet manga.

I wish it didn't swear as much but other than that it was a great, fast paced read. I thought the story was well paced and intriguing.

"Fall in Love with False Angels" is a captivating comic! The artwork is stunning, and the story is both intriguing and emotionally resonant. I was completely drawn into the characters' world and found myself invested in their journey. A truly beautiful and well-crafted comic.

What a cute first volume! I love how both characters have a hidden side to them. I can’t wait to see how their story unfolds as the main characters begin to share more of their true selves with each other. The art in this volume is great as well.

Ah, I need more 😩 it reads so quickly, and I’ve loved the interactions between Toki and Otogi 💗. That duality between how they act in public and how they are in private is just amazing ✨.

I needed volume 2 yesterday because that ending needs answers, hahaha. Her standing there with the arrow, admitting she’s in love with him 🥹.

This manga is a cute little fluffy story with really well-done art (the beautiful hair on these two characters makes me jealous!). Otogi and Toki are the school president and vice-president respectively, and the apex of all goody-two-shoes. Both are renowned for being beautiful and “angels”: kind, good, giving and sweet. However, Otogi’s angelic face is covering a real teenage girl interior, and she spends her days hiding all her actual feelings: snark, frustration, irritation, etc, which she shows only to one friend outside of school.
One afternoon Otogi is being harassed by a group of boys and … defends herself. Apparently the act of sticking up for yourself equates to showing your inner evil side? Perhaps this is a cultural difference that I’m just not aware of. However, Toki witnesses Otogi’s “inner badass” emerging momentarily and shows his own inner “bad” side, followed by his declaration that he and Otogi will be partners from now on to let their inner freaks fly (so to speak).
While Otogi is completely sidetracked by what she perceives as Toki’s “inner bad guy” it seemed to me that both of their secret inner natures weren’t really bad/evil/dark so much as defending themselves and others from abuse and harassment. I was a little surprised by this because I was expecting the secret sides to be a little more… dark. Maybe the storyline will develop the secret natures more as time goes on. For now they seem almost super-hero-adjacent.
Anyways.
The story was a little light but this is only volume one, so I’m sure it will get more involved from here. I really liked the coffee shop scene. Toki and Gen-ni were so sweet together and the flashbacks to little kid Toki were adorable. (Question: is having an undercut haircut rebellious or scandalous in Japan? I wasn’t sure why Otogi was so shocked by it or so adamant that Toki cover it up in school. I actually preferred that look to the long-hair Fabio look but ymmv.)
Finally I really liked the section that the author includes at the end on the various Japanese honorifics and ways to develop nicknames. Maybe readers who read a LOT of manga already know all these things but I found them very helpful and they boosted my enjoyment of the story.
I look forward to seeing where False Angels goes from here.

As someone who is relatively new to the manga scene, I don’t have much to compare this to, so I can’t comment on how this stands up against other books from the romance genre. What I CAN say, however, is that I thoroughly enjoyed myself reading this, I did wind up laughing out loud more than once, and it is really, REALLY cute.

Our protagonists Otogi and Toki are, at face value, well-mannered class presidents with whom everyone is head over heels in love. On their own, however, they can let their masks drop – with each other, they don’t need to be perfect. I’m not sure I’d call it their ‘dark’ side, because it really is just them having a bit of banter and engaging in sarcastic and blunt conversation, but it’s sweet that they can be themselves with each other.

The entire volume is from Otogi’s point of view, and all the illustrations of her losing her absolute mind as she realises she’s falling in love are hilarious. Special mention to the frame right after she accidentally sends a message, I was wheezing at the way it was drawn. I would, however, have liked to see a little bit more of the attraction from Toki – like, he’s so obviously into her, but it’d be nice to see a moment of him having a Cupid’s Arrow moment. Loved the coffee shop section though, absolutely amazing, no notes.

Oh! I also really enjoyed the translation notes at the end! If you’re new to manga (like me), it’s a super interesting insight into the Japanese language and how certain parts of the culture come across. Would 100% pick up volume two, as I get the vibe that this is a series that will get better and better as it goes on!

This was super cute and I would definitely want to continue this story. Two main characters are the idols of their year/school and act the like they are perfect, kind, smart, helpful, etc. In reality they are normal kids that are rough around the edges and hide all of their personality traits that don't fit the "perfect" image they have cultivated. However, once they learn each others secret, they start to get closer as their "true" selves. Told from the FMC POV.

Fall In Love, You False Angels is shoujo, but there's a twist too and because of that it felt refreshing on at last some level. Otogi is a beautiful girl loved by everyone, like an angel. In reality she is somewhat nasty, pessimistic and sharp-tongued - it's supposedly her hidden persona. Because of a slip, Toki, the heart-throb boy, learns about her nature. Instead of declaring it to the world, he reveals to be the same kind of person and now they are partners in crime and of course Otogi starts to fall in love immediately. The idea was interesting, but their real natures are a let-down, too mild for my liking. Uzuki doesn't use the delicious situation enough to create something outstanding.

The art is OK, nothing spectacular. The facial expressions are interesting at times, but the insta love effect with all the blushing eats enjoyment. The series ins't bad, it's just not that different, which is a bummer. Stronger characters would've done wonders. I wish shoujo would be bolder in many ways, like it was many years ago.

The first year's student council president & vice-president are both two-faced & they hide their true self hidden from others at school.

The art is so pretty!! There's no spice so you can read it without any worries. The chemistry between the two of them is so good & I seriously loved it!!

It got a really interesting plot & you will find some hilarious scenes in between too. Just the perfect blend for a romcom.

I've read bits of this manga in the past, but it's nice to refresh my memories before the English physical copies are released next month! The art style is easily one of my favorites and the overall story is a fun and quick read that will buildup as we get more volumes. School romance shoujo mangas are always an entertaining and comforting choice for me so I obviously ate this one up as well. This first volume may feel uneventful, but it's more of an introduction to the characters.
Once again, thank you Kodansha for picking this series up for the intl audience and translating it. ପ(๑•ᴗ•๑)ଓ ♡ I look forward to volume 2
Fall in love, You False Angels is actually quite popular in jp and has 1 million copies in circulation despite being a newer series with an anime in the works for it as well.

I loved seeing how comfortable the two of them were around each other. Plus the artwork is so gorgeous! I’m excited to see where the story goes from here.

I was wary of the comparison to Kaguya-sama: Love Is War in the description of this book, as those are BIG shoes to fill. But it absolutely does the job. This book was a very fun read, and the characters had me swooning. The art style is also very beautiful and detailed, but doesn't shy away from getting a little silly at times- exactly what I want from my romantic comedy manga. I will absolutely be reading this manga as more comes out, and I'm excited to see how the relationship between the main characters will further develop.
