This series is so fun, I am a fan of sport romances of any sport and any tone.
.
This is the second book in the series and as it happened to me when I read the first, it was magnetic, it came out of the mold so much that I needed to know what was happening next.
.
It was totally unpredictable as to how we were going to get there. Dex is an American football player, and since his best friend got together with the love of his life, Dex feels like he needs to find his own.
.
and nothing better than the filling a profile of the app that his best friend's girlfriend invented. With all his data and photos loaded he is ready to find her.
.
But nothing would have prepared him for the woman who jumped into his message calling him out or seeing her in person the next day while trying to escape a horrible date.
.
But what he wasn’t expecting was wanting to keep the conversation with her, especially because she is a single mother and her only rule is, no kids.
.
These two have an incredible chemistry and also a number of setbacks that really when I saw what was about to happen I was surprised at what really happened next.
.
How they ended up together is hard to say but I did enjoy every part of their story. It's the kind of book that takes you out of a reading slump and leaves you with a smile.

Thanks to Sara Ney and Montlake for giving me a copy of this beautiful book in exchange for my honest and voluntary opinion

Not my favorite from Sara. It did have some of the funny lines we’ve come to love from her, but the main characters had multiple points where they were doing too much to the point of unlikeable.

This was a fun, cute book but didn’t blow my socks off. Perfect for an easy read at the end of a busy day but ultimately forgettable

I really wanted to love this one. Sara Ney is one of my favorite authors, and the book started off strong, but unfortunately, it quickly went downhill for me.
The biggest issue? I just didn’t believe in the romance. Dex was a literal man-child—immature, clueless, and frustrating to the point that it was hard to root for him. Meanwhile, Margot was far too forgiving, brushing off things that should have been dealbreakers. Their connection never felt genuine or earned, which made it difficult to invest in their HEA.
The one bright spot? Wyatt. She was the most compelling character by far, and honestly, she’s the only reason my rating isn’t lower.
Overall, this book was a miss for me, but I know Sara Ney can deliver fantastic stories, so I’ll still be picking up her next one.

This book follows Margot a single mother who joins a dating app and meets Dex, a famous football player. At first he’s not sure if he wants to date a woman with a kid but they meet anyways. His publicist thinks it’d be great for his image to date a single mother.
The first like 40% was great and then moment he decided to lie about his intentions knowing what she wanted from this relationship I fell out of interest. Started off so strong and felt like I just wait for him to come back around and be a better person but it never came. I really liked the FMC and her daughter Wyatt. Most of the time it felt like the ten year old was the most mature.

I received an ARC from Netgalley for my unbiased review. Thank you so much for the arc, I appreciate it.
What I enjoyed about the book:
- I found the book's premise interesting, especially given the rise of online dating apps.
- The author took the time to flesh out the relationship between Margot and her daughter Wyatt. I loved their dynamic and at times found it amusing how Wyatt was like a mini Margot with an attitude
- The inclusion of Wyatt into the dates was entertaining especially because that helped to develop the relationship between Wyatt, Margot, and Dex as a family however I think more of this dynamic needed to be explored before what happened in the epilogue to occur
What I didn’t enjoy:
- I know Dex is a football player and meant to be childish but at times I would find him so immature that sometimes in my mind he was a child that needed to be babied. He is a grown man with common sense though he may be a bit dim. He doesn’t need his hand to be held, he knows what he needs to do and yet he just doesn’t
- Margot forgave way too easily to the point where I thought it was quite out of character for the woman who at the start of the book tried to accuse and confront him of being a catfish
- Margot annoyed me when she just ran with the assumption that Dex’s profile was fake
- Dex’s friendships should have been more fleshed out. At least his relationship with his best friend just kind of turns back up in the epilogue
- Margot’s parents were quite 2-dimensional in my opinion and were badly written
- With Margot’s backstory being that she accidentally conceived Wyatt from a one-night stand and is a single mother, I am very disappointed that there was no mention of condoms anywhere in the sex scenes. There could have been a little encouragement of safe sex with the incorporation of condoms, other protection being used or even a short quick chat about previous sexual history or testing for STDs but nope.

I was really looking forward to Sara Ney's new book because I absolutely loved her college/sports romance books. That makes me even more disappointed with her latest book “Biggest Player”. It started out so well, but about halfway through it just went downhill. I loved the premise of this book, a footballer seeks a girlfriend but ends up falling for a single mum.
Dex was just awful childish and a little dim when you know what I mean. His character just fell a little bit flat for me…I just didn't like him. I could not understand his actions.
Unfortunately, I didn’t particularly like Margot either. She fell a little too easy for Dex for my liking. I wanted Margot to challenge him more. She was sassy and snarky but too forgiving in my opinion.
Regrettably, their relationship could not convince me at all it was too instalovy.
The story was in my opinion rushed and they shouldn't have said I love you to each other so soon. I’m sorry I can't recommend Biggest Player but if you want to read something by Sara Ney, then I can recommend the How to Date a Douchebag and the Trophy Boyfriend Series.
I received an advance reader copy (ARC) of The Biggest Player from NetGally in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I really liked the concept.
A single mom and a NFL player meet on a dating app.
And the first like 40% was really fun and it’s a rom com so it had its funny one liners.
She’s 29. He’s 25.
Dex tho: Man is kind of a tool.
He’s even called a giant man child in the book.
Margot: she kind of annoyed me as time went on
Wyatt: Margot’s 10 year old daughter. I loved her. She was witty. And also more of an adult then the adults 🤷🏼♀️
Just wasn’t for me.

I haven’t read a Sara Ney romance in a while and picked this one up because I am a sucker for single mom romances and when you add in a sexy quarterback, you have my undivided attention. Sara did not disappoint. Her signature style of writing lovable yet hilarious characters came shining through with both D’ex and Margot. I couldn’t get enough of their banter. It was everything I enjoy reading. There were times I wanted to reach into my kindle and smack a certain football player in the head but in the end, he was irresistible. Margot was a strong woman who knew her own mind and I liked that about her. Together they made this the amazing read that it is. I’m giving BIGGEST PLAYER the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval, TBR and Enjoy!

The story between Dex and Margot was hilarious from start to finish. Both characters had witty and sarcastic banter that moved the plot along well. Margot's single mom story was pretty clear on why she wasn't into playing around with dating, you understood her need for stability in a relationship especially because her parents set a great example of that for her. I do feel like Dex's background could of been explored a little more and showed him being a little more vulnerable because of his childhood trauma, that story wasn't shown deeply to Margot. He was just a cocky f**k-boi to her it seemed like. The spice was well done and not overly done in my opinion. Wyatt was hilariously written and as a mom of a nearly 10 year old, the mannerisms and dialogue were very well written.

Giving this book 4 stars because I really do appreciate when a "meet- cute" starts off with texting!
If the author can keep my attention with the texting and banter, yay!
And that is what this book did!
Dex, although sometimes a bit cringe-y , was really cute especially when he tried to be useful in Margot's kitchen.
Margot had a good head on her shoulders but I do wish she gave him a bit more of a hard time.
Definitely recommend if you love a whole lot of text exchanges in a book😊
Many thanks to Netgalley, Author Sara Ney and publisher for the opportunity to read and share my thoughts .

I'm glad I read the first book before starting this arc. I liked Dex in the first one, and I liked him even more in this one. This was fun with some great banter. I loved Wyatt, so cute!
Thank you so much for the ARC!

This is book two in the Not Yours series, and let’s just say Dex and Margot’s story started off hilarious. It begins with Margot calling Dex out, thinking he’s catfishing women with his pictures—when in reality, he made the dating profile as himself.
Football star Dex is looking for a real relationship because he’s tired of staged PR romances. You can really tell he’s a bit naïve when it comes to serious relationships, and taking his agent’s dating advice only proves that further.
The chemistry between Dex and Margot is filled with witty banter, and I loved Margot’s snarky comments. She’s a strong, independent woman who knows what she wants and doesn’t put up with nonsense. I always enjoy when a strong woman falls in love because she has to truly open up and let someone in.
Wyatt, Margot’s 10-year-old daughter, helped bring this story to life. Her interactions with the adults were fantastic—her outspoken and quirky personality made her such a fun character. Dex initially had no interest in dating a woman with a child, but as he got to know Wyatt, everything changed.
If you’re looking for a sports romcom with a single mom and banter for days, make sure to grab this book!
Thank you, NetGalley and Montlake Publishing, for the eARC.

I loved the cute interaction between Dex and Wyatt at the beginning. I enjoyed how this friendship between Margot and Dex started, it was authentic. Their texts were hilarious. And then Dex went and ruined it for me. The way he went about starting a “real” relationship with Margot soured my mood with the whole story. Mind you, he was falling for her which backfired on him! I could already picture the downfall and demise in this relationship. That took away from me with this book and I became uninterested. I found Dex to be immature and focused on his image, completely self-absorbed. I just couldn’t get over it. I really loved Margot and Wyatt though and they could have done so much better than Dex.

I loved this book! And I’m beyond grateful I got to read it in advance. It’s safe to say I annotated the s**t out of it and had the best time!
It was fast paced from the beginning, and I was glued to my Kindle, I literally couldn’t put it down.
It was hilarious, and the amount of times I had to stop reading to just laugh for a good minute- and scream. Excited screaming, giggling, squeaking. All of it. And a lot of it.
Wyatt is a legend, give that kid an Oscar.
Sure the plot is nothing brand new, but it was super well done! Dex isn’t your typical perfect book boyfriend imo. I shook my head at his words or actions a little too often, he needs a few lessons in “how to not be an absolute idiot” but in his defence; I think he really tried his best, this poor - maybe a little life dumb - mountain of a man. But that’s what Margot is here for right? haha
The two matched so well, from the first time they've met, to their HEA. I would absolutely love to see more of them!
I didn’t know I could love football romances that much - I’m definitely a hockey girl through and through - but HOLY, I need more haha (Omw to grab the first book in the series RN) And I actually loved the reverse (little) age gap! Again, I never thought that’s something I’d say, yet here I am- I ate it up haha.

This isn't my first Sara Ney book. I read the "Not Your Biggest Fan" last year and I liked it a little bit more than I liked this one.
I felt like Margot fell a little too easy for Dex and he cracked a lot of jokes that felt a little unnecessary or not helpful to the story line. I wanted to like it more but Dex made it hard for me to like it more.
Thank you NetGalley and Montlake Publishing for the eARC!

This is a very quick romcom. Margot is a single mom looking through some dating app that involve swiping. Left or right. I think we all got the gist of that. Dex is a famous football player. I was also doing the same thing. She doesn't think he's real, so he she tells him off. For using someone's photo, but surprisingly, it really is him- they interact for a bit to cite through messages, but leave it at that. I'm through a mishap at a restaurant. They end up meeting in person, courtesy of Margots daughter they end up going on a date and he's into her. She's into him, but somehow they end up fake dating only. She doesn't know the x boyfriend/ baby daddy throws a little bit of complication in there also - lots of different tropes here but I felt like it never got into I felt like it was just a very silly fun, quick ROM com. It was okay, not that I reminded it. Good beach, read full read, but I wish it had a little more depth
Thank you, net alley for the arc.In exchange for an honest review

While this isn't my first Sara Ney book, I would have to say it probably was my least favorite one of hers. The premise is cute with a single mom and hot football player meeting and trying to stay just friends. The way they first meet in person is hilarious and I Ioved that her daughter was involved.
I just felt like the story was rushed, that there should have been more substance before they just jump into saying I love you to each other, It's definitely has the spice and hot guy you want in a romance book, though I don't think I would read it again or recommend it to a friend either.

This was my first book by Sara Ney and im a bit disappointed that iv been sitting out on this author!
This book was a fluffy romcom with sports romance and single mom being the two main tropes.
This story has the most relatable yet unique meet cute that I’ve read in a while and I really enjoyed the start of their love story.
I did find the plot of the story somewhat lacking which is why I gave it a lower rating. But it was still a really fun cute read.
I really enjoyed the strong female main character, but the male main character fell a little flat at times for me. Due to that a few of the spice scenes felt like they didn’t have enough chemistry and didn’t have a place strong place within the story.
The banter in this book is seriously perfection, and the cheesy lines passed back-and-forth between the male main character, and the female main character had me giggling.

This was a cute single mom rom com. I did feel like it was too similarly written to book one in the series. Maybe I shouldn't have read them back to back. I like the texting back and forth parts. Overall I enjoyed it, but wouldn't pick this one up again.
