I absolutely loved the first two books in this series, and I absolutely loved The Charlie Method.
I think in a world where sports romances are becoming a really saturated market, it’s hard to find something done uniquely and done really well, and I think Elle Kennedy absolutely smashed this. Will & Beckett are both so well written and full of depth and detail, and I love the way their relationship with Charlotte/Charlie is developed throughout. I don’t think any part of the story seemed unbelievable, and I love that they let Charlie come to terms with her feelings in her own time.
Which leads me on to the spice (!!!). Elle writes spice so well, and this is no different, but also SO different. Writing a standard monogamous relationship is easy - writing a throuple? Wowie!!!
I’m absolutely in love with all of the characters, and I loved the side stories and side characters. Dante is a personal fave!
Can’t wait for what Elle does next - 5 stars!

Phew.... when the book got announced I was contemplating whether or not I was going to read it, as I had never read an MFM book before, and I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy the book as much as I did the others. But I ended up deciding that I wanted to read it. To say that I was happy and excited when I got the notification that my request was approved is an understatement. I fully jumped from the couch and screamed the neighbourhood down, sorry not sorry.
Even though I did not know what to expect from this book, it was such a good, first time experience! Their story was so well written. I didn't get confused with the 3 POVS nor the plot, and we got an amazing insight into their lives. I already loved Will and Beckett in the previous books, but I fear I'm now obsessed with them?? Will was the sweetest, charming golden retriever (with a freaky side, of course), while Beckett was a bit more complicated with a fair amount of secrets... As for Charlie, I loved how her story wasn't sidelined and that there was more to her than meets the eye! In with this badass chick who does what she wants (or who she wants lol) and out with the old-fashioned "you're only allowed to love someone a certain way". Like a certain Katherine Pierce from The vampire diaries said: "It's okay to love them both, I did." And I stand by that.
Not only did I love the main characters, but it was so exciting to see that my OG family is still getting involved! From Blake, to Hollis, to the DAD CHAT!!!!! (pls continue those, I absolutely laughed and cried). I cannot wait to see this universe getting expanded, fingers crossed for more OG appearances!🤞
Thank you, Elle Kennedy, NetGalley and Little brown book group for the ARC!

I'm a big fan of Elle Kennedy's various hockey series so I was so excited to get to The Charlie Method - and it did not disappoint!!
Following Charlie, Will and Beck, this is the first of her hockey series to have three main characters so it was really interesting seeing all three POV and getting to know each character. I loved how different they all were and how we got to know and love them throughout their story. I was especially intrigued after being introduced to Will and Beck in The Graham Effect and seeing more hints of their relationship in The Dixon Rule. I especially loved getting to know Charlie - her story and family was so interesting and I got very invested in her as a character! She was a great, strong female lead and I loved her dynamic with the two boys as well.
I did find that as there were three POVs, we perhaps didn't get as much from side characters as we normally would in an Elle Kennedy book, which is what I really love about them - the banter and hilarious parts that often come from those side character interactions - but it did still have a lot of the funny and cutesy that I love in her hockey books. I loved the spice - lots of great scenes if you're a fan of those!! - and especially loved the uniqueness between Charlie, Will and Beck - I really appreciate the love between them rather than it just being about their spicy scenes.
I did find a few things at the end seemed a bit rushed and too perfectly closed but it felt right to end in the way it did.
As always, I love Elle Kennedy's books and just can't wait for the next one!! Would highly recommend for my hockey lovers, especially if you've enjoyed the previous books in the interconnected series!

To say I've been waiting impatiently for this book for A YEAR would be the understatement of the year. I had such high hopes for this book and was super intrigued by it being a MFM! Not my usual fare, but I trusted Elle to do it justice.
That being said, I was a teeny tiny bit disappointed in this one. I think the risk you run when you have 3 characters with top billing, you always run the risk of someone not getting the character development they need or the plot suffering from having too many characters. I absolutely LOVED Will and Beckett and honestly looked forward to their relationship the most. You can feel their connection and how much love and trust they have for each other. This is NOT a swords cross kind of book though. There is no MM.
I really did like Charlie as a FMC! I felt like she had oldest daughter syndrome with the perfectionism, though she was the youngest. But that could be attributed to her being adopted. I wasn't a huge fan of the adoption/trying to find her bio family storyline. I felt like the more compelling storyline was Will's dynamic with his politician father and the expectations that came from the family. I also felt like Charlie had much more of a connection with one of the MMCs than the other one. It didn't feel equal, so the need to be with both of them and falling in love with both of them didn't ring as true to me.
That being said, OMG is this book HOTTTT. 4 chilies EASILY. All their hookups were hot and spicy. And I was OBSESSED with Mike Hollis as a coach! He had me DYING, truly LOL'ing. Logan and Grace's daughter Blake is a side character and I loved our introduction to her. I can't wait for her book!!
THE DAD CHAT. I LIVED for this! John Logan has my heart. LOVE HIM. We get glimpses of the OGs from Off Campus in the Dad Chat. This book was full of cameos and mentions from previous characters in the Off Campus/Briar U/Campus Diaries series that was great for fans of the series.
Overall, I liked this one. It wasn't my favourite of the Campus Diaries series but I inhaled it in a day all the same. I had a hard time rating this one because I really did enjoy it but I had a few issues with the character development and storylines at times. It's definitely worth the read, especially if you're a Briar universe/Elle Kennedy fan.

phewww, this was hot. And at times emotional. I've never read a book, let alone a spicy one, where the main female gets with two males at the same time throughout the entire book.
The spice is spicinggg. The dirty talk is hot af 🤭 And there is actually a plot to these interconnected standalone books, its not just purely spice.
I did think this would end differently but was pleasantly surprised.
I'm never normally one for spicy romance books but I've read the other two and Girl Abroad prior to this and I just fall in love with Elle's books. They're like 500 pages and yet I can devour them in a day or two!!

Summary
Overall rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 3.5/5 (rounded up)
Spicy rating: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ 3.5/5
Fluff rating: 💖💖💖 3.5/5
This was super enjoyable to read for the most part and I think if you’ve loved the authors other works you’ll definitely enjoy this one. It’s just not been my favourite of the series. I adored The Dixon Rule and this one despite having so much potential just didn’t quite hit the same.
Most of this book was a solid 4⭐️ read but towards the end things felt a little rushed and characters motivations became a bit more inconsistent and confusing which is what knocked it down a little for me.
I loved the inclusion of our previous couples from this series and from possible set ups for the next series (fingers crossed for Blake & Isaac) not to mention my honest to god fave part of this book… Dad Chat! Hilarious. Kennedy does have a really humours storytelling and balances it well with the plot which makes her books really enjoyable and heartwarming to read.
There could’ve been a bit more development of side character relationships which I think would’ve then made our MCs more relatable and the reader more invested in certain outcomes. There were some heavier emotional elements and introspective character development that were well handled and some that could’ve done with more page time and exploration. The dynamic between the MCs was really good though especially in the first half!
I love a why choose/ poly story but I think compared to some of the other available books in this genre it felt a little flat. The spice was spicing and the dynamics were good but it really felt like there was something missing. A lot of the external reactions to their relationship felt glossed over which is a shame because it really could’ve helped you understand the depth of those relationship more with how they responded to those interactions and experiences.
Overall yes I still enjoyed it, it’s sweet and fully with good humour and that classic Kennedy spice but I don’t think it compared to the previous 2 books in this series.

This was such a fun read but it did make me cry! I continue to love the Campus Diaries series and this didn’t disappoint. Charlie, Will and Beckett are all completely different—that’s what makes them work. I loved seeing how this played out. The chemistry between all three of them is so good and I loved every minute. While this is a really fun book, it also has its emotional moments and it did make me cry at one point. I really enjoyed it and can’t wait to read more in this series. I’ll never get tired of it! I love these characters with my whole heart after loving this world for 10 years in 2025.

it wasn't bad but i wasn't great. i think it's time for to stop reading elle Kennedy, I don't get on with her books anymore

Elle Kennedy strikes again, she’s left me wanting more. This was my first MFM so I don’t have much to compare it to but I love how Elle managed to capture the insecurities and the unsureness of this specific trope. The decisions that were made are all apart of the process and I think she represents them so well.
I loved the characters so much, we already had a preview of the new dynamic between Beckett and William but it just grew tenfold in this book. The ever charming Will who continues to prove what a gentleman he is all the while being a ‘freak in the sheets’. And then there’s Beckett, our complicated Aussie who has secrets upon secrets. (Man is delicious).
Then we meet Charlotte (Charlie) who comes across as uptight until you actually know her. And when you do finally get to know her you see you are far from the truth. She is also the holder of many secrets, and has so many struggles throughout this book and the new predicament she has found herself in. The question is does she get all the answers she needs? Probably one of my favourite female characters by Elle so far actually.
I really hope Elle Kennedy continues this series, there’s so many openings for more to come in this series. Also LOVE seeing a specific new coach introduced! I need more of him.
Thank you Netgalley and Little brown book group for this arc.

3.5 stars. I was SO excited for this because i Love elle kennedy so so much but it’s my least fave in the series so far. I still really enjoyed it, literally read it in a day and i loved everything to do with will, beckett and charlie being together. the scenes with the three of them were the best, genuinely loved all three characters so much. everything else however I didn't care for at all. there was so much parent drama and the fan fic? I didn’t like that and also the ending was crazy.

I’ve been really struggling with Elle’s newer books and I hate to say it. While I went in with high expectations after enjoying the first two books in this series, this one completely missed the mark.
The characterisation felt quite chaotic. The idea of Charlie/Charlotte being two distinct personas had potential, but it felt more like a half-baked gimmick than a meaningful exploration of identity.
The romance was quite and I felt myself bored for a lot of the story. There was no chemistry, tension, or build-up. It relied on clichéd inner monologues like, “I don’t do feelings, but she’s super hot,” instead of showing us a genuine connection. I was especially disappointed since M/F/M romances have endless potential to explore unique dynamics, but this one was uninspiring, unfortunately.
The fan fiction segment was really confusing to me and I found the chapters quite off putting.
The attempt to add depth with Charlotte being an adopted Korean American was uncomfortable to read. The portrayal leaned too heavily on stereotypes and lacked the nuance or insight needed to address interracial adoption meaningfully. While it didn’t seem malicious, it came across as shallow and ill-informed, which left a sour taste.
I did however really enjoy the spice, as I always do with Elle’s books. She never fails to do spicy scenes well, but the rest of the book fell quite short for me!

Charlotte Kingston is determined to keep up her flawless image, no matter what it takes. As an adoptee in a family where everyone seems to have their lives perfectly mapped out, she feels immense pressure to measure up. Her go-to outlets for stress relief? Pushing limits at the racetrack or swiping through dating apps for casual, no-strings-attached connections. Her latest match, however, shakes things up: two mystery men who seem to know exactly how to spark her interest. What starts as hesitant, flirty conversations soon escalates into undeniable tension—and eventually, a face-to-face meeting. Imagine her surprise when her mysterious matches turn out to be none other than her classmates, Briar U hockey players Will Larsen and Beckett Dunne. But their shared attraction only deepens once they meet in person, pulling the trio into something far more meaningful than they ever expected.
Going into this book, I was a total newbie to MFM romances and had no idea what to expect, but I trusted Elle Kennedy to deliver—and she absolutely did. Despite the story featuring three protagonists, it masterfully dives into each character’s backstory, offering insight into the emotional hurdles they face in their unconventional relationship. Charlotte, Will, and Beckett are all richly developed characters, which kept their individual arcs engaging while their relationship evolved at an electric pace. The initial build-up, as Charlotte pieces together her mystery men’s identities, is fast-paced and addictive, while their explosive chemistry and immediate connection maintain the momentum long after the big reveal.
One of the most refreshing aspects? The trio’s relationship is surprisingly drama-free, with all three partners offering each other unwavering support and genuine affection. While the story doesn’t shy away from external conflicts and side drama, it’s their relationship dynamic that truly shines. Will and Beckett are sweet, thoughtful, and utterly devoted to Charlotte, while she brings warmth, encouragement, and emotional depth to the connection. Together, they form an irresistible trio that balances tender moments with plenty of heat, making for both a heartwarming and incredibly steamy read.
If you’re on the fence about MFM romances, this is the perfect gateway story. With compelling characters, sizzling chemistry, and a sweet yet spicy dynamic, it’s a book that will surprise and delight. Charlotte, Will, and Beckett might just make you a fan of the genre!

I do think this is officially my last Elle Kennedy book. Part of it is because I don't love her writing style but I almost always have serious criticisms, The Charlie Method included.
The characterisation was completely all over the place. The idea of Charlie/Charlotte being two different people in her mind is interesting in concept but I'm not convinced that Kennedy has the skill to pull it off.
The romance itself was so boring, watching paint dry on a wall would have been more thrilling. There was a lot of telling but not showing in the romance - "oh I dont do feelings, but she's super hot and I'm really drawn to her"... like, okay? It's dull. There was no heat jumping off the page, no tension, no nothing. The reason I'm always excited to see M/F/M romances is because when you add a third person to the dynamic there's infinite potential for the relationships but this one didn't work at all.
Kennedy attempts to add depth to the story with the fact that Charlotte is an adopted Korean American. As someone who isn't a person of colour and isn't adopted, I'm happy to be corrected, but the conversation lacked nuance and sometimes felt borderline inappropriate. It relied too heavily on stereotypes without saying anything interesting or meaningful about inter-race adoption. I think the inclusion was handled maybe not with bad intentions but certainly in poor taste and without the necessary experience to back it up.
I did go into this with high expectations as I enjoyed the other two books in this series but I fear that this completely missed the mark. 1.5 stars.
Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the e-arc.

Sweet Jesus. Pour me a glass of milk for that spice. So Three really is the magic number. Book three. Three POVs. And so on…
We really get our Will and Beckett book, Cover to cover.
The plot is completely unique. A modern day romance, a love letter to twenty first century relationships.
This story also deals with important feelingly of belonging and self discovery.

I am obsessed with the Briar U universe. I have reread every book multiple times, and I was so looking forward to Will’s book. But sadly I didn’t enjoy this one.
MFM is a love / hate trope and sadly, I am in the hate category. I had hoped that based on the earlier books in the series, that it would be a bit of messing around between Will, Beck and Charlie, but ultimately it would end up with Charlie choosing one of them. I didn’t enjoy the dynamic of two boyfriends…
This was definitely Elle’s spiciest book that I’ve read, and I found it took over from the plot at times.
I’m so sad that I didn’t enjoy this one 😭
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The Charlie Method is the highly anticipated third book in the Campus Diaries series by Elle Kennedy.
I absolutely adored this entertaining MFM romance between Will, Beckett and Charlotte. I really liked the relationship dynamics and how they progressed throughout the story. Charlotte (aka Charlie) was a beautifully intricate character and I found myself become incredibly invested in her life. I thought that the adoption element of her life was handled with care and realistic of the struggles one might face.
Overall, The Charlie Method was yet another incredible book by Elle Kennedy and I cannot wait to read more from this series.

I absolutely love Elle Kennedy and this spin off series is perfect if you love her “world” of books and are looking to pick up new characters and storylines. I love that because most of her books the characters feel like friends so it’s nice to see new stories develops based around that!
