In the latest novel in the Love Hotel series, readers follow guest relations manager Jasmine as she looks for a relationship and a promotion. However, relationships between staff members are totally forbidden, so she cannot act on her attraction to sous-chef Alejandro. When they are both sent out to the hotel’s new branch in Jamaica, both Alejandro and Jasmine have to last two entire weeks on a beautiful island preparing a perfect romantic experience without starting anything. Perfectly tropey, spicy, and full of brilliant details, readers will love this intense and steamy new release in this hilariously charming series. Jasmine and Alejandro alternate narrating each chapter, which gives readers the chance to see their relationship develop on both sides, while the many tropes will draw readers into the story and their relationship. With its perfect blend of tropical adventures, forbidden romances with intense chemistry, and complex and entertaining characters, Olivia Spring has done a fantastic job in expanding this great series. With the great cast of characters, brilliant tropes, and beautiful setting, Spring has really brought this novel to life with her incredible dialogue, descriptions, and world-building, and readers will love how detailed and vibrant this funny and romantic new novel is.

In this story we are back at the love hotel in Spain for the second instalment of this series. We meet Jasmine and Alejandro and it’s clear they are attracted to one another, but it’s a work policy not to get involved with colleagues. They are both sent to Jamaica to help set up a new love hotel but can they also resist each other?

I actually need to read more books with the age gap trope considering there’s nine years between myself and my fiance! I also reading enjoy forced proximity which this book is filled with. I adored the setting of both Spain and Jamaica! They both sound so beautiful and I could just imagine it all reading this book.

Olivia’s narrative is free flowing and easy to read which I loved. It’s also one of my favourite book covers I’ve seen it’s beautiful and so eye catching.

I honestly cant wait to read more of Olivia’s books. If you want a story full of he falls first, one bed, destination setting with some spice too then this book is for you 🥰

I really enjoyed this quick read. The characters and banter was beautifully written and can I just say that I absolutely squealed over the ending?

This book was captivating - right from the beginning (I mean really though, the starting chapter? The opening scene? It was absolutely epic and had me rolling with laughter. Then the absolutely delicious tension between Alejandro and Jasmine just made me squeal. It was delicious in how forbidden it was, and having both characters point of views made the experience even better.

The settings of this book were absolutely top notch - Spain and Jamaica both are places that I love and the vivid descriptions of places in Jamaica were written so vividly and beautifully - the dancing that was described was also really well done as I could picture it perfectly.

The entire romance was just so incredibly beautiful and believable; the slow burn felt real and just all of their reasons for trying to resist were very believable and wonderful. I truly look forward to more books by Olivia Spring as she is a fantastic author! Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for this e-arc in exchange for my honest opinion!

I have been looking forward to this book since reading the first Love Hotel story and it did not disappoint.

It wasn’t just the temperature in Jamaica that was hot in this book, the chemistry between Jasmine and Alejandra was burning off of the pages!

I loved the day trips in Jamaica and hearing about the tourist attractions and let’s not forget about some of the connections between them whilst sightseeing.

I cannot wait for Sammie’s story in the Italian Love Hotel.

ARC Review: What Happens in Paradise by Olivia Spring

I picked up What Happens in Paradise without having read the previous book, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying Jasmine and Alejandro’s story. With an irresistible setting and a workplace romance filled with tension, this book had all the right ingredients for an engaging read!

🌟 What I Loved
- The Stunning Settings – Spain and Jamaica provided the perfect backdrop, making this a great escape read.
- Slow-Burn Tension – Jasmine and Alejandro’s chemistry builds up in a way that kept me invested.
- Tropes That Work – Forbidden romance and only one bed? A classic combination that adds to the intrigue.
- Strong Leads – Jasmine is independent and ambitious, while Alejandro is charming and considerate—an MMC worth swooning over.
- Quick & Engaging Read – Short chapters kept the pacing brisk, making it an easy book to fly through.

🤔 What didn’t quite work for me
- Some of the flirtatious exchanges felt a little too spelled out, which made them less natural.
- A bit rushed toward the end –- the buildup was well-paced, but I would have loved a bit more depth before the resolution.
- While the romantic tension was great, some steamy moments felt a little too much for my preference.

🎭 Final Thoughts
Overall, What Happens in Paradise is a fun, fast-paced workplace romance with sizzling tension and a gorgeous setting. While certain elements didn’t fully land for me, I still had a good time reading it and am now curious to check out Olivia Spring’s other books!

✨ Thank you, Boldwood Books and NetGalley, for the ARC! This review reflects my honest thoughts.

I loved this book almost as much as I did the first one. Following their story after being able to slightly see it take form in the first book was so fun! I cannot wait for the next book in this series! This author is know on my auto buy list and I plan to read her backlist as well!

Sit back and enjoy the fun, suspense and excitement of romance in the workplace, mixed with beautiful beach settings!
The main character Jasmine loves her job, the hotel industry is her passion, besides being an excellent matchmaker! Romance and work are never a good combination, opening a new branch of the hotel will hopefully take Jasmine’s mind off her own love life, or lack of one!
This fast paced story takes us to Jamaica where Jasmine fights an impossible romance with the hotel’s chef.
The chemistry falls off the pages, creating the suspense and expectation of a holiday romance, the characters are all charming and real. This book is a great holiday read, heartwarming and full of surprises and unexpected moments!

Thanks to the publisher, NetGalley and the author for the opportunity to read and review this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I totally fell in love with Jasmine's and Alejando's story. I had to laugh out loud so many times and let me tell you about the locations. I wanna see them all now😍 I also loved Bob and I hope to see him and some of the characters again. I love Olivia's writing so much - I just flew through this book. The story was uplifting and I was swooning along with the other characters. Alejandro is also a great brother, cook and everything else. I also loved how supportive he is of Jasmine. This book can totally be read as a standalone.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC.

This book was such a good follow up to The One That Got Away! I actually preferred this one, the chemistry between Jasmine and Alejandro was perfection. Gorgeous love coordinator and a hot chef in a tropical paradise? Yes please! This is a forbidden/workplace romance, he falls first, one beddddd tropes! It did feel like there was a lot of buidl up and setting the scene and then the ending was a little more fast paced.

To say I am excited for Sammies bok is an understatment!

Id like to thank NetGalley, Olivia Spring and Boldwood Books for this ARC!

Jasmine and Alejandro are coworkers with huge crushes on each other and workplace romance is forbidden. Jasmine is fighting her feelings, especially since she's 11 years older than Alejandro. Alejandro tries to hide his feelings, but after going on a work trip to Jamaica together, they can't help falling for each other. They are in a romantic place and it just brings them closer. Jasmine tries to leave their romance in Jamaica, but it is impossible, they're too far gone. They get caught and fired from their jobs but fight for their jobs and each other. I enjoyed this, though I enjoyed book 1 more. At least Bob was a good time.

Olivia Spring’s What Happens in Paradise is a trope-tastic contemporary romance that sizzles!

Hotel guest relations manager Jasmine is not called The Love Alchemist for nothing. Working at the Spanish Love Hotel is a dream come true for Jasmine and although she makes the perfect match for her guests time and time again, she is strictly forbidden from finding her own Mr Right among her fellow members of staff. Jasmine has never had a problem with this – until she claps eyes on drop dead gorgeous sous-chef Alejandro, who has awakened feelings deep within her that have been hidden for ages!

Although the attraction between them is mutual, Jasmine and Alejandro know that they cannot act upon their attraction for one another. Keeping each other at bay was possible at the Spanish Love Hotel, but it becomes increasingly harder to stay professional when they are both sent to Jamaica on a work trip. Forced together under the red-hot Jamaican sun, resisting temptation quickly proves impossible. A secret fling quickly ensues, but with their work trip coming to an end, Jasmine and Alejandro realise that the last thing they want is for their relationship to come to an end.

Will they choose their jobs over their hearts’ desire? Or will they find the strength and courage to fight for a future together?

A sun-kissed romantic tale that makes for the perfect escape during the cold months of the year, Olivia Spring’s What Happens in Paradise is a fun, flirty and feel-good read with a smart and sassy heroine and a swoon-worthy hero readers will fall for. The ideal pick-me-up for readers looking for a romance that will sweep them away, What Happens in Paradise by Olivia Spring delights, entertains and captivates.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and the publishing house for the opportunity to read a complimentary copy of this ARC in return for a review, based upon my honest opinion.

This was such a fun book! The love hotel sounds like a wonderful place to vacation. Jasmine loves her job at the love hotel and is hoping for a big promotion, when Jasmine is asked to go to the Jamaica location to check things out, she is excited, but when she finds out that Alejandro, the chef is coming with her. She is suddenly very nervous. Jasmine has the hots for Alejandro, but he’s younger and she thinks she has no shot with him plus, they work together and workplace romances are taboo at her workplace. She literally just gave a talk to the staff about it.

Of course, once they get to Jamaica, Jasmine and Alejandro quickly find that they want nothing more than to spend every moment together. They’re hoping that what happens in paradise stays in paradise, but will it? This was an enjoyable book to read. I really enjoyed the storyline; and this was such a lovely lighthearted, fun spicy romance..

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of this novel.

What Happens in Paradise is book #2 in the love hotel series but my first time reading this series and from this author. This book can be read without reading the first one as it is an interconnected standalone.

This was a quick read but a fast paced spicy age gap (FMC older), work place forbidden romance in beautiful tropical locales. Being someone reading this in winter in a snowy climate it made me want to book a flight to the islands off Spain and\or Jamaica where majority of this novel takes place.

The slow burn, tension was wonderful. Also where are guys like Alejandro??!!!??? Need him in my life. Can’t wait to read more from Olivia Spring.

What Happens In Paradise by Olivia Strong is a delightful romantic comedy that's set against the backdrop of a luxurious Spanish hotel and the sun-soaked beaches of Jamaica between"Love Alchemist" (another name for guest relations manager) Jasmine and Alejandro, her charming and handsome sous chef co-worker. Despite their mutual attraction, Jasmine and Alejandro face a significant obstacle: the hotel's strict policy forbidding inter-staff relationships.

But when they find themselves traveling to Jamaica together on a work trip, the forced proximity and the tropical setting make it increasingly difficult to resist their feelings. Now they're faced with a major problem: will they risk their careers for a chance at love?

I would have given this a higher rating except that so many of the sentences. were. too. short. It felt like I was reading a high school essay at times. But overall, the combination of the setting and some fun side characters like their Jamaican driver Bob makes this romance the ideal escape for romance lovers.

An age gap romance, the story of Jasmine and Alejandro. They work together and each have their own reasons for not dating, but will two weeks away confidante things? I loved the setting and how it was told from both points of view.

What Happens in Paradise by Olivia Spring was a light, fun read with an engaging romance and a gorgeous island setting. The story follows Zara, a career-driven woman who finds herself unexpectedly single and takes a much-needed trip to a tropical paradise. What was meant to be a solo getaway quickly turns into something more when she meets Noah, a charming and mysterious stranger. Their chemistry is instant, but with secrets lingering between them, Zara has to decide if she’s willing to take a chance on love again.

I enjoyed the blend of romance, self-discovery, and escapism. The setting was beautifully described, making me feel like I was right there on the beach. Zara’s journey was relatable, and while some parts were predictable, it didn’t take away from the enjoyment. The tension between Zara and Noah kept things interesting, and I appreciated the balance of emotional depth with lighthearted moments.

Overall, it was a great escapist read—perfect for when you want a feel-good romance with a dreamy setting.

This was my first book by this author which means I didn't read the first in this series but i still loved it!! I love a forbidden romance and the tension leading up to the spice was so worth it. I loved the fake dating twist this story had and the whole "love hotel" concept.
