I was left utterly disappointed by this book, especially after enjoying last years The Summer of Broken Rules so much. I found this to be a very dull read, ironic considering just how many different things these characters have going on. I feel like there was an attempt to tackle so much with these characters which just meant none of it worked. I'd rather have fewer plot points done well. I was most interested in Isa's overly ambitious parents and the preassure put on her but that was wrapped up far too easy at the end and felt overall like an unsatisfactory end. Speaking of satisfactory endings, I didn't feel like this book needed a sex scene. I am in no way opposed to sex scenes in YA books, how sex was handled in The Summer of Broken Rules was one of the reasons I liked that book, but here the scene felt so forced in last moment, there to check off a box than anything else.

Thank you to the publishers for giving me an ARC cope of this book. I really enjoyed the premise of the story- a top senior student taking a day off with her friends (very character like of her) to give them all a fun day before everyone heads off to different colleges. I also liked how it had different POV which helped me connect more to the characters. I didn’t think her brother James’ character was necessary and his whole story of trying to find where they had gone was a bit boring in comparison to their story, I wish we had just focussed more on the other three instead. However saying that, it was a very quick and easy read. It is definitely more of a younger adult/ teen book but had some cutesy moments between the characters with their love interests. Again thank you Netgalley and the publishers for the ARC.

I loved the Ferris Bueller-esque premise of this book, and I found it an easy read with a great sense of setting. I loved Walther's The Summer of Broken Rules, and I think that whilst While We're Young doesn't quite have the same feeling of emotional journey it is still a good, fun summer read.
Many thanks to the author, publisher and Netgalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for an unbiased review.

Honestly, i had to dnf this one early because the writing was just not doing it for me. It was really boring and nothing got me interested in the characters (who i felt were very bland) and the plot didn't sound as cool as it was in the blurb.

If you're a fan of Ferris Bueller's Day Off, this book is a must-read. It's a fast-paced, funny rom-com packed with everything I love-adventure, humor, and just the right amount of romance. Each character embodies a little bit of the iconic Ferris Bueller characters, making it a great modern take on the film classic.
The four POVs keep the story moving at a perfect pace, making it impossible to put down. I read it all in one sitting.
Following Grace, Everett and Isa's journey through
Philadelphia is such a fun experience- especially if you know the city. Seeing them hit all the famous tourist spots adds an extra layer of excitement.
Overall, While We're Young captures that carefree, once-in-a-lifetime kind of adventure, making it the perfect feel-good read!

Thank you to Netgalley for the arc! Finished this in one day, it was very quick and cute and an easy read! However, by the end of the book it got me thinking “that’s it?!” Because I find the ending very rushed and it doesn’t like really conclude anything? I still have so many unanswered questions about the book…
