WOW!! What a ride! This book grabs your attention from page one! If you love super unexpected twists then you MUST READ The Nanny Share! This book quite literally had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. It's so nice to read a book that keeps you hooked til the very end!

Oooo I loved this one!!
So gripping, I could NOT put this book down. Possibly my favourite read of 2025.
The twist was incredible, literally would never have guessed it. Absolutely brilliant. Cannot wait to read more from this author.

This is my second book by this author, and while I didn’t like this story as much as “Meet the Parents”, I still think it was a good thriller. This book is the story of one day in Blackwood, an exclusive gated community outside of Los Angeles - and what a day it was!
That morning, Carrie and her husband Daniel wake to find their daughter Emma gone. On the same street, Alison and her husband Ryan arise to find their daughter Nealie gone. The two four-year-olds are missing, and both sets of parents call their nanny, Julie. The families used to be close, but recent events have kept them apart, including the kids. Julie is the one who still sees both of the girls, but she doesn’t know where they are either.
Once the police get involved, the story picks up with chapters from the points of view of the parents, Julie and her boyfriend Theo, Kate, the main detective on the case, and a mystery person who is getting texts from the presumed kidnapper. Why are they ignoring the texts and not telling the police about the ransom demands? What happened to break these friendships up? Where are the girls, and why were they taken from their beds in the middle of the night (conveniently when the neighborhood’s CCTV went down)?
You will get answers to all of these questions, with a lot of surprises along the way. Every character has a secret they are hiding from one or more people, and as the secrets come out, everyone grows more frantic. The mothers are losing their minds, the fathers are both letting their anger take over, and Julie is scared something bad will happen to the girls she has watched for so long. She’s also scared that her secrets will come out too…
This had some good twists throughout, and it was quite entertaining. I wouldn’t have minded a bit more darkness and suspense; the book was relatively light for the subject matter and I didn’t care much for any of the characters, but that’s my only minor complaint. This one is a very quick read, and a very interesting story as well. Four stars!
(Thank you to Bookouture for inviting me on this book’s tour. “The Nanny Share” is slated to be released on February 21, 2025.)

I devored this book!
So brilliant, twisting and moving, I was hooked from the start.
A must in your 2025 TBR

This was addictive, read in one morning. When two girls go missing from a posh suburban area, questions get asked. The lies you uncover during this story is crazy, a lot was kept from each other. It’s a page turner with twists you won’t see coming. The characters are all fitting with the plot and it was very well written. 5 star read.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for a copy.

What a fascinating, fast-paced thriller!
When two sweet 4-year-olds, Emma and Nealie go missing from Blackwood, an exclusive gated community, tenacious Detective Kate Martin is determined to unravel the secrets of everyone involved, to find what has happened to the two missing girls…
I felt absorbed into this story from the very beginning and was regularly on the edge of my seat waiting for the next surprise or unexpected twist, especially with the many cat-and-mouse elements, and the regular chapter cliffhangers.
“This is the type of secret to follow you to your grave. Hell, it’s the type of secret to drive you to an early one”
Throughout this entire story I was trying to understand the motivations and secrets of each character, and Emily Shiner is certainly skilled at keeping readers guessing right to the end!
As this story is told from multiple perspectives, I initially found it tricky to remember who each character was and their relationships to each other, although this was not an ongoing concern.
There are certainly some darker elements within this story, so will not be suitable for all readers, but for those who enjoy a gripping psychological thriller, this is a winner!
With thanks for Bookouture, Emily Shiner and NetGalley for this e-ARC, for review consideration with an honest review.

The Nanny Share by Emily Shiner, when two4-year-olds go missing on the same morning. It seems the only thing they currently had in common was the fact they shared a nanny Julie, but as more than one of the adults tries to figure out what happened to the children secrets are uncovered starting out when Detective Aletha Bradshaw, shows up to investigate because she is one of the women that Ryan, Neely’s dad had been sleeping with recently. Kate, Nealy‘s mom knows this but is more interested in finding her daughter and is one of the adults looking for evidence as to where she is. Many questions will be raised, but it’s the answers that are going to shock all of them. The only problem is every time a deep dark secret is uncovered. The children seem to still allude them so when everyone is crossed off the list who is left and where are the girls and will they get there in time? I love a good thriller/mystery where I think it is one person or persons for most of the book only to learn no it was someone else the whole time and that was this book. I was totally shocked. Well, not shocked because I started getting included into the fact that maybe this person but it also seems like it could’ve went the other way as well. This was a great book. I’m only giving it three stars however because they had lots of eye rolling moments, especially with idiotic Julie. I still am going to read this author’s books, however because they bring me great joy and despite not enjoying this one as much as others it’s still a twisty ride. #NetGalley, #Bookouture, #TheNannyShare, #EmilyShiner,

I really enjoyed it! It took a few chapters to get intrigued but once invested, I had to know what secrets everyone was guarding and where the missing, little girls were. Multiple POVs, many characters to keep straight - one of them being a tenacious detective- and so many twists. The Nanny Share doesn’t disappoint.
Thank You to NetGalley, Bookouture, and Emily Shiner for the opportunity to read and enjoy this ARC.

My first ARC review!
The start of this book was really interesting and made me curious about what was going on. But around the 40%-70% mark, it got kind of boring because there were too many chapters from different characters, so it felt a bit dragged out. Maybe multiple POVs just aren’t my thing. The ending was unexpected, and overall, it was a fun read!

This was my first Emily Shiner read and it certainly won't be my last. Fast paced, multiple points of view with an in-depth characters. I really was surprised by this one. storyline is gripping and thrilling. Great details and great plotting make this your new addictive, suspenseful read of the year.

Two four-year-olds who live in the same neighborhood in Blackwood, Emma and Nealie, go missing. Their parents used to be best friends, but since have parted ways for some quite intense and dramatic reasons. The girls share a nanny, Julie, who may or may not play a role in this. Both families have some wild secrets, some of which coincide with each other’s secrets.
The book was slow at first. The story was told from multiple POVs (at least four) which I usually love, but this was honestly a challenge for me to keep track of who was who while also trying to find out who could be guilty. Maybe that was because none of the characters were likable, and the only people I cared about were the two missing girls. I did love the shock value of the ending and never would have guessed the twists, but it definitely was convoluted and a bit rushed.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARC!

Thank you NetGalley and Emily Shiner for this ARC. I enjoyed reading this book. To me, everybody was a suspect! I could not stop reading.
Emily Shiner is becoming one of my new favorite authors.

Emily Shiner’s The Nanny Share is packed with secrets that keep you guessing right up until the very end!
It’s every parent’s worst nightmare: two preschool-aged girls disappear without a trace in the middle of the night from a prestigious gated community. How could this happen? One thing connecting these girls is their shared nanny—who we quickly discover is no saint.
As the story unfolds, it dives deep into the messy lives of their parents and everyone surrounding the investigation. The slow unraveling of everyone’s secrets, combined with clues that might explain the girls’ disappearance, keeps the tension high and makes this one impossible to put down.
Interesting points: tangled family dynamics, flawed characters, secrets, police investigation, kidnapping, multiple POV
I’d recommend this to anyone who loves a good thriller!

This book was good in concept, but would definitely benefit from another round of editing. Some parts seemed hastily written

Thank you to Bookouture for the ARC!
I love Emily Shiner’s books so I was very excited to check this one out! The tension in the prologue alone had me waiting for the other shoe to drop - you could just sense that something bad was going to happen! Told from multiple points of view, many of these characters were suspicious as two little girls went missing. Though the families are friends, the most common link is their nanny. She seemed sweet at first, genuinely enjoying her time with the kids. But I was side-eyeing quite a few of the characters (looking at you Ryan!) This was a wild ride and a quick read, with the fast pace keeping me glued to the pages.
“The Nanny Share” releases February 21, 2025. This review will be shared to my instagram blog (@books_by_the_bottle) shortly :)

The whole book is set across one anxiety ridden, questionable day! From the very start of the book, Shiner sets the scene brilliantly, drawing you in and getting you thinking straight away (which I love!!). The opening grips you instantly, laying the groundwork for the suspense and twists that follow. I thought I was beginning to piece everything together, with parts of the plot finally falling into place. However, even more puzzle pieces emerge, completely shifting my perspective and thoughts, keeping me guessing until the very end!
The characters in the book are well crafted, each with their own secrets and complexities. As the story unfolds, you find yourself constantly reassessing who to trust, as layers of their personalities are revealed. The dynamic between the characters adds depth to the suspense, making the twists even more impactful!
One of the only reasons I never gave it five stars is due to their being quite a few characters involved which sometimes overwhelms me. For example trying to remember what character said what or what character did that - however this did not affect the book in anyway, it’s just the way my brain works sometimes 🤭

Emily Shiner’s “The Nanny Share” is a very good psychological thriller with a gripping premise and dark twists.
Two families have their lives shattered when their four year old daughters Emma and Nealie go missing. The two families live in the exclusive, gated Blackwood neighbourhood with a near perfect lifestyle but that is shattered when their daughters go missing. Right at the centre of the mystery is the girls nanny who suspiciously cares for both Emma and Nealie. It is not long before the police want to look closer at her and the nanny’s dark past threatens to come to light.
This is a fascinating read, full of suspense, damaged friendships, broken marriages, and mounting obsession. Lots of suspicion but who can be trusted, lies and secrets surround the characters and what will happen when the truth is revealed?
This is a very good thriller, well plotted and intriguing characters. Well written and perfectly paced throughout.
I would like to thank both Netgalley and Bookouture for supplying a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

While the book started a little slowly, I loved it once everything picked up and I started understanding the storyline. I am horrible at paying attention to chapter titles so I was lost for a while. The storyline played out in an excellent manner and gave me that definite jaw dropping moment at the end!
Emily Shiner is one of my absolute favorite authors, anytime I get the opportunity to recommend her, I’m on it! The other thing I adore about her is her presence on social media, she is so grateful anytime someone mentions her or one of her books. I love her willingness to make any feedback valuable and actionable. She is an author I will read for many years to come!

The mystery in this novel unraveled slowly under the weight of the enormous secrets everyone involved kept throughout. I read to discover the ending, which was not quite as satisfying as I expected given the twists and turns of the story.
