Where do I start....

The pay gap between men and women....because I found out TODAY my white male counterpart makes significantly more.

The lack of diverse leadership in senior and director level roles.

The respectability politics that only serve to suppress those with opinions.

The lack of opportunities/promotions to those who work 3 times as hard for half the respect.

All this to safe, books like this are important because they challenge and educate. Work should be a place where everyone is given respect and equal chances.

I genuinely wish this book was required for all in leadership and recruiting roles.

It gets harder for employees to differentiate themselves and highlight their unique characteristics in climates where businesses seem to want all the same ‘creativity’, soft skills and specialised knowledge. It also gets more difficult to understand what employers want and how they assess your talent.
On the other side of this is the employers, recruiters, leaders, P&C.
This book is mainly for that side, though as someone on mostly the first side of this game, I benefited from the approaches, perspectives and questions in this well-written book.
