The Baby Swap by Daniel Hurst is a twisted thriller that follows two mothers who give birth to a baby boy around the same time. The babies are switched after birth, and the past unfolds in a suspenseful twisted way. Although some of the twists seem a little farfetched, I enjoyed reading this domestic thriller.
Rating: 4/5 – Sharp, suspenseful, and hard to put down.

Oh wow. This book is amazing!! The storyline is very twisty and suspenseful, with tension really building.
I found the dual POV very interesting.
I’d classify this as a popcorn thriller which meant that I found it very easy to read and even though the subject matter is pretty dark, the story itself isn’t. Personally for me I like that.
And I loved the ending! Very satisfying.

Wow. Just wow. The Baby Swap was stressful as a mother to read. I had post partum anxiety and the thought of this happening is just terrifying! Anyways, I had never read a book by Hurst before but I do have to say I will definitely be getting whatever book he puts out from now on. This was a page-turner and one I'm not likely to forget.

Wow, wow and again wow! Daniel Hurst has delivered yet another head-spinning psychological thriller that left me continually wondering what would happen next. “The Baby swap” had me constantly on the edge of my seat wondering what could possibly happen next; and yet even after reading many of his books before, I still kept being surprised.
At times, the pace changed and dragged a little, but this was possibly, so readers could catch their breath for a moment! I think this is one of my favourites from him. With thanks to Bookouture and Netgalley for letting me read this story (which is now available for sale).

This is the first book I've read by this author and I did enjoy it. It kept my interest and was suspenseful enough to want me to keep going, I read it fairly quickly. The main characters were so annoying at times with the drama... but i love drama lol I would read other books by Daniel Hurst in the future.

The title seems to tell it all… however, that’s just the beginning of an any read that will keep you at the edge of your seat.
Daniel Hurst never fails to keep you guessing with satisfying endings. .The inbetween reading is the icing on the cake.
Thank you to the author and publisher for a more than enjoyable read.
Kudos to you, Mr. Hurst!

Daniel Hurst’s The Baby Swap is a gripping psychological thriller that plays on every parent’s worst nightmare—discovering that the child they’ve raised is not biologically theirs. With his signature fast-paced storytelling and tension-filled narrative, Hurst delivers a rollercoaster of emotions, moral dilemmas, and unexpected twists that will keep readers on edge until the very last page.
The novel follows two families who, after years of raising their children, learn that a shocking hospital error switched their babies at birth. As they navigate the emotional turmoil, legal battles, and ethical questions that arise, Hurst masterfully explores themes of identity, nature versus nurture, and the deep bonds of parenthood. The alternating perspectives give insight into each character’s struggles, making their pain, fear, and desperation feel all too real.
What makes The Baby Swap particularly compelling is its ability to balance suspense with deep emotional resonance. Hurst doesn’t just focus on the thriller aspects; he also delves into the psychological and relational impact of such a devastating discovery. His writing is sharp, and the short, punchy chapters make it nearly impossible to put the book down.
For fans of domestic thrillers like The Couple Next Door or The Push, The Baby Swap delivers a thought-provoking and unsettling tale that lingers long after the final twist. It’s a must-read for anyone who enjoys a fast-paced, emotionally charged thriller with shocking revelations at every turn.
Absolutely LOVE this book! 5 out of 5!!!

I really enjoyed The Baby Swap by Daniel Hurst. It’s a quick and captivating read with plenty of twists that kept me hooked. While some parts felt a bit far-fetched, the story overall was well-written and kept me guessing. If you’re looking for a gripping and entertaining thriller, this one is worth picking up!

This book was a gripping and fast-paced psychological thriller that kept me hooked from start to finish. The premise was both unsettling and fascinating, exploring the emotional and moral dilemmas of an unthinkable situation. Daniel Hurst’s writing kept the tension high, making it hard to put the book down. The twists and turns kept me guessing, and I enjoyed how the story unfolded.
Thank you again to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book. I look forward to reading more from this author!

Rating: 3 stars!
This wasnt my favorite Daniel Hurst book, who over the last year has become one of my favorite authors. The ending felt like it was rushed to try to put an end to the madness. At the 60% mark, I had a pretty good idea as to how the book had to end to get all the pieces into place. I did really enjoy all of the characters invidually.
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book dives into the not far off concern that people have about losing their baby and how they would get them back. It explores real fears in a psychologically gripping way!

Daniel is an author I watch out for. Loved this one. It was fast paced, so many twists and turns, and the ending totally surprised me. I can't recommend this enough.

Wow, a book in which both the main characters are portrayed as vindictive and ruthless. Even if you decided to align your sympathies with one they do not live up to your expectations. I tried to think of how I would write the ding as I got further into the story but never came up with the imagination of Daniel Hurst. Well done and I can't wait to read more by Daniel.
When revenge, temper, or indignation overtakes your good sense things will never work out for you. Both Jade and Avril are guilty of wanting to one-up the other. That culminates into events that can't be undone. The story is told by each character easily followed. With one chapter via Aveil’s husband. I do recommend this book even if you can't “like” the characters it's a story you can't put down. The ending is epic.
Thank you, NetGalley, and Bookouture for this great read. This is my honest opinion. I would buy it for a friend so we could discuss the characters and ending.

This book definitely gives you characters you want to hate vibes! This book was a super fast read and I found myself preoccupied by it enough that I wanted to go back and finish it basically in one day. The ending is a little out of this world but in a good way! I enjoyed this book and the crazy ride !

When I saw a chance to get to read another Daniel Hurst book, I jumped on that bandwagon. The title of this one jumped out at me. You always hear about baby swaps happening and it just freaks me out. I couldn’t wait to start it. This book had me jumping out of my skin and freaking out over what was going on. It was definitely a page turner that I could not put down. I will definitely continue to read Daniel Hurst thank you to NetGalley, Daniel Hurst, and Bookouture for the ARC!

First of all, thank you so much for the ARC.
Story mainly revolves around Avril and Jade two women who delivered babies in a hospital on the same day. One of them swaps the baby with another one.. Why? Read the book to know more about it.
Most of the time it's difficult to pick which character did the right thing.
I loved the book from first page itself. It's interesting and unputdownable. Full of twists. Also a quick read finished it off on weekend.

I didn’t enjoy this one . The story was all over the map . Too many characters and the story unfolded in such a choppy way .

I really really enjoyed this title.
I always enjoy a Daniel Hurst book!
Again Daniel has written a top notch story with twists and turns that you do not see coming.
If you are after a thriller that leaves you on the edge of your seat then this story is for you!
Thanks for the chance to read and review this title. I really enjoyed it.
5/5 stars as always for Daniel Hurst.

Baby Swap had an intriguing premise, and the first half pulled me in right away. The tension was high, the pacing was quick, and I was fully invested in where the story was going. But as the book progressed, it started to lose some of that intensity, and by the second half, it wasn’t as much of a page-turner as I had hoped.
Daniel Hurst does a great job building suspense early on, and I appreciated the way the story unfolded. However, I found myself wanting more twists or higher stakes to keep that momentum going. While the ending wrapped things up, it didn’t leave the lasting impact I was expecting.
Overall, Baby Swap is a decent read with a compelling setup, but the second half didn’t quite deliver the same punch as the beginning. If you enjoy domestic thrillers with an intriguing premise, it’s worth picking up.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ – A solid start, but the ending felt rushed.
