I'm always excited to read a new Daniel Hurst book and this was no exception! I admit that I didn't even read the premise and jumped right into it. I thought I knew where the story is going - baby swapping, and the aftermath, and for a while the story was the usual as expected. Not taking away from the good pacing and writing style that I enjoy from the author.. However I was definitely not expecting a couple of twists in the last few chapters - they definitely threw me for a loop in a good way! I couldn't wait to find out more and I enjoyed the satisfying ending of the story.

Definitely recommend!

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

"The Baby Swap" by Daniel Hurst was a quick, mildly suspenseful read.

The story revolves around Jade and Avril, two women whose complicated history casts a dark shadow. When Jade realizes that her maternity roommate is the very woman she feels wronged her in the past, she quickly seizes the opportunity to exact her revenge.

While the premise of the story is intriguing, the character development and plotting that could have elevated the story falls somewhat short, lacking the depth necessary to keep me fully engaged.

Despite these shortcomings, "The Baby Swap" was an enjoyable read that offered just enough tension for a brief escape.

Thank you to Daniel Hurst, Bookouture, and NetGalley for providing me the advanced reader’s copy to read and review.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Wow!! I may have a book hangover after this one (in a good way). Daniel Hurst is once again a genious!!

The Baby Swap starts out with suspense right from the jump in the Prologue & didnt stop until the Epilogue (& oh what an Epilogue).

I wanted to root against the villian but honestly, who even is the villian?

This book had me flipping pages so fast & couldnt put it down.

This book is set with multiple POV's & was so gripping with so many twists & turns that you don't see coming.

I would highly recommend this book as a 5⭐️ read.

Well done Daniel Hurst for continuing to create these thrillers that keep us on our toes.

Once again, thank you @NetGalley! & Bookouture for the opportunity to read this advanced copy.

Daniel Hurst is a master of the psychological thriller. I loved this story and could not put it down. There was at least 3 twists in this book that I did not see coming and I’m usually good at predicting the twist! 5*

I received an ARC of this book, and this is my honest, unbiased review. I loved the premise. I really felt for Jade and the way Avril treated her. Even after Avril "won" and had the upper hand, she didn’t stop there, which set the whole revenge plot into motion. The story had me on the edge of my seat, and I read it all in one sitting. The final twist caught me off guard, and the ending was unexpected.

Throughout the book, I thought it might have been possible for them to switch their baby back, avoiding prison altogether. However, I understand there wouldn’t be much of a story if it were that easy, though this point wasn’t addressed.

All in all, it was a decent read. 4 stars.

𝐇𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐈 𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐲𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟?

When you pick up a Daniel Hurst thriller, you know you're in for a good time. However, you may not realize that many of his books are not just 'popcorn thrillers' but have plots that feature a moral dilemma presented in an entertaining way.

Avril and Jade are two very different women. Avril works a demanding job in the cosmetics industry and is married to Bobby, who dotes on her. Jade was blacklisted from her dream job market and doesn't have a partner, just the occasional one-night stand, but these women have one thing in common...they've both just given birth.

What would make one woman even think of, much less actually pulling off, a baby swap? Well, reader, you're going to find that these women have a little more in common than I led you to believe. Wild, fun, and filled with unexpected twists, THE BABY SWAP is expected to release on February 19, 2025. Thank you to Bookouture for the early copy.

The plot is one that hasn't been done before! It's extremely exciting! Imagine swapping your new born baby with another one. That is exactly what she does. I like how developed the characters are and how things are revealed at a even pace. The plot was so thrilling that I could not turn away from the book.

Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for this ARC. When Avril finally goes into labor with her baby, her family dream finally comes true, and what Avril wants is what Avril gets; successful career, great husband and beautiful house. Jade a woman barely scrapping by is in the next bed giving birth to her own baby. Why is one of the women switching the babies? As we delve in the history of these women, how far will they go for revenge? Total fast paced book with many twists along the way.

This book is fast paced without feeling rushed! It has strong writing and unpredictable plot. While I found a few moments where certain events didn’t feel entirely realistic, I still enjoyed this book and would recommend it! It’s such an easy read that will suck you right in. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I don't know how Daniel does is, given the amount of new novels he releases, but this is another crcking thriller, fast paced and had me wanting to keep reading. A swapped baby and a plan for revenge, I really didn't know where this one was going. But wow! Can't wait for the next one now!

Daniel Hurst takes us on another wild ride involving two women, 2 babies and the game of revenge. What links each woman will go to get revenge on the other was crazy! Such a well written book with an ending I did not predict, this book will stay with me for a while!

Did I spend a lot of time screaming at my kindle while reading this book? Yes, yes I did.
Did I want to jump into the book and throttle the characters? Also yes.
Did I see the twist coming? Absolutely not!
Daniel Hurst has done it again!

What a crazy ride! Daniel Hurst is on top form with “The Baby Swap”, which starts on the post natal ward with one new mum secretly swapping her newborn for another!

Successful career woman, Avril, has everything. A high flying job, a great marriage, a beautiful home and now, a new baby. Jade, on the other hand, is single, struggling and has no idea how she will cope with her newborn.

The back story linking the two women and how they came to be where they are today was insane! Gripping, twisty and fuelled by a massive desire for revenge. The action packed ending had me holding my breath and then, the epilogue! O.M.G!

5 ⭐️ Thanks to Netgalley, Daniel Hurst and Bookouture, for an ARC in return for an honest review.

Another great book by this author. It's suspenseful and gripping and very emotional at the same time.

I understood Jade's feelings and the need for revenge, but OMG this was revenge next level for me.

I enjoyed every page of this book and I was waiting for the finale. Having read multiple books by this author already, I know there is always something very juice he keeps for last. And once again he did not let me down. Honestly, I was flabbergasted. Not in a million years would I have guessed this.

Thank you, dear author, for turning a dreary and cold winter day in a very entertaining one. 5 stars

3.5 stars rounded up. This story is mad. In a good way. It follows two women who end up next to each other in the hospital after giving birth. One of them decides to switch their babies as an act of revenge.

This is an easy, quick read, it’s fairly short and I sped through it across two days. I enjoyed getting to know each of the women and how they know each other / what happened previously to make one want to switch their babies. It is a story of revenge which gets out of control. At about 70% in I started to wonder what the twist was going to be - as so far it was pretty much as I expected it to go (but enjoyably so). The major twist comes right near the end, and it was pretty shocking, but I must admit I wanted some more twists earlier on. Overall I enjoyed the ending and how it all wrapped up - although it is pretty crazy!

Would recommend for anyone who likes an easy read thriller with a dark and shocking twist. This was my first read by this author and I’ll definitely be trying some more. Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for a copy of this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Imagine giving birth, and just knowing deep down this isn’t the baby you gave birth to. And no one believes you. I was hooked from page one, and couldn’t imagine why someone would baby swap! Once I thought I knew what was going on, Daniel Hurst threw a wrench into it and I was shocked. More than one twist! A must read!

What an absolute fast paced thriller read this is from my favourite author with great twists and turns throughout.

I was engrossed in the storyline from the very beginning with great characters throughout, just brilliant storytelling with everything brought to a good conclusion.

I think this has to be one of Daniel's best books yet and I have read them all and I have no hesitation in recommending this fantastic book.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC, it will blow your socks off I am sure.

Unfortunately, I did not enjoy this book at all. The plot felt overly familiar and lacked originality, leaving me with little to invest in. The characters were unlikable, and I couldn’t help but feel sympathy for the two babies who were burdened with such awful parents. The supposed “twists” were more contrived than surprising, often feeling forced and out of place. By the time I reached the ending, I genuinely cringed—it felt rushed, incoherent, and disconnected from the rest of the story. Overall, it seemed like the book was hastily thrown together, with little to no editing or thoughtful critique. It’s a disappointing read, and I can’t recommend it.

The absolute plot twists this book has blows my mind, it's a shorter read but it doesn't hold back and keeps you going until the end!
