I’ve read a couple of Daniel Hurst books before and enjoyed them. Unfortunately, this one just didn’t work for me. It started off really promising but got too over the top and ridiculous as the story progressed. There were waaaay too many coincidences that made me roll my eyes. There were a couple of twists/turns that were good and I didn’t see coming.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

The Baby Swap was good, but it was a slow start. Overall a great read with unpredictable twists.

“The Baby Swap” is hands down my favorite of Daniel Hurst's books so far! From start to finish, the story had the perfect balance of suspense and jaw-dropping twists that kept me hooked. Hurst does an excellent job of building tension and creating characters that feel real, yet keep you guessing about their motivations. Just when I thought I had it figured out, another twist would come out of nowhere, keeping me on the edge of my seat.

The pacing was spot on, with enough suspense to keep the pages turning, but not so much that it felt overwhelming. I also loved how Hurst managed to explore complex themes of trust, guilt, and deception, all while delivering an engaging and thrilling plot. If you enjoy psychological thrillers that keep you second-guessing every character, The Baby Swap is an absolute must-read. Highly recommend!

Daniel Hurst just keeps getting better (how is this even possible?!). This standalone title will appeal to new readers, as well as those who (like me) were held in utter rapture by 'the Doctor's Wife' series. This book sees a new depth to Daniel's writing, while (gratifyingly), keeping the absolute hallmark of Daniel Hurst - his unwavering and quite remarkable ability to conjure up utterly genius plots!!

In this novel 2 women are reunited on a maternity ward, however only one of these woman realises this recognition and unfortunately she is the one with a significant grudge against the other - cue her impulsive and somewhat self destructive decision to switch the babies. As the novel plays out we learn not only about the history between these woman (a fascinating story in itself), but also how the story of the catastrophic baby switch plays out...and it is an epic tale!!

I seriously loved the plot twists in this novel...and there are many!! This book is well worth reading and provides entertainment that packs a serious punch!

My thanks to NetGalley, author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book in exchange for an advance copy.

Predictably great read. The only author I like who can write books faster than I can read them. The ending on this was great...made a nice change from the female winning through. Thank you so much for the pre read. It was fascinating and addictive right the way through

as in true Daniel Hurst fashion I didn't see any of the twist and turns coming. just when you think you're on one characters side, a total curve ball is thrown and completely changes it all. this book had me on the edge of my seat the entire time

WOW! This book takes off at the very beginning and doesn’t stop until the very end. Daniel Hurst is an excellent author that knows how to capture your attention right away and includes twists perfectly. I also liked the fact that the topic was something different than the usual thrillers.

Two baby boys born on the same day, two mothers that have a history that is less than stellar…what could go wrong? Meet Avril and Jade…two women with a past that just couldn’t stay in the past for one of them. Is swapping babies with your greatest enemy the ultimate payback?

Thank you, Bookouture, for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

This was an amazingly well written story of swapped babies and revenge and plot twists that I thought I had figured out but hadn’t.
Well written characters and an storyline that kept me gripped and involved from start to finish. This was one of those books that consumed the whole afternoon being read in one sitting from start to finish. First for me from this author but it definitely will not be my last. Love finding a new writer to add to my ever growing list and this one is straight on there.
If you love a good jeep you on your toes read then don’t over look this one or you will be missing out. Just excellent!

I just know once I start a book by Daniel Hurst that I will finish it within a few hours. The Baby Swap was no exception. When 2 babies are swapped at birth, it was shocking , but I had to know the reason behind it. What follows is a tense and suspenseful read . I raced through the pages wanting to know the outcome. As with all this authors books there is the inevitable plot twist. In this book, the plot twist was on another level!

This book was swapped at birth with a twist at the end I never saw coming. The characters, the storyline and the events consumed me and just when I thought I figured out one part, here came another twist. This was very well written and kept my attention no problem. Highly recommend if you enjoy a good thrill

This via my first read by Daniel Hurst and it definitely won't be the last ..what a book! Based on 3 characters who's lives are intertwined from many years ago. This is a story of revenge. It's full of twists and turns right up to the last page when we find one final twist.
Excellent.

Loved this book. At times it was a bit farfetched. But the over all story was well written overall and kept me engaged. The ending was shocking, not what I expected at all.

Ruthless. Two can definitely play the game. Avril is horrible to Jade but Jade does the unforgivable. Stealing Avril's baby! But did anyone see that ending coming?! Definitely not me!

Book 24 of Daniel’s, making my way slowly through them all! I felt like I was reading this and waiting for the usual twist, it was a little disappointing that it didn’t come before the epilogue but a great twist nonetheless! As usual I love how Daniel writes, capturing you from the first few pages and making you need to know what happens! If there were no other books left I’d be happy only reading his work! This was told from a dual POV, Jade and Avril, but a mixture of past and present, a dual POV is a highlight for me. Good character depth, I disliked Avril but she was written well! Lovely chapter length as usual, can’t beat a short, snappy chapter! Overall.. great read but not my favourite from Daniel! Would still recommend though.

This book follows two women, Avril and Jade, who give birth to their baby boys on the same day, in the same hospital, and end up in the beds next to each other. But of course it isn’t that simple, the two women knew each other in their past and we are taken on a rollercoaster of a read whilst we find out how their paths crossed previously.

I really liked the way that the book switched from the POV of the two main characters, and told you their experiences from their own perspective. We see the choices that both individuals made in previous years that have contributed to where they have ended up today, in the middle of a baby swap that only one of the characters is aware of.

This was a fast paced, easy read thriller that constantly left me wanting to read on. I did find myself questioning when, and if, a twist was going to be revealed as the end was closing in, but it certainly did not disappoint. This is the second book that I’ve read by Daniel Hurst, and it lived up to the high expectations that I had. Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for my ARC, I highly recommend!

Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for the advanced digital copy. I love to be one of the first to read Daniel Hurst's newest releases! I have been a fan for a few years now!
Release date is set for: February 19, 2025

Someone stole my little boy. I’ll do whatever it takes to get him back…
Staring down at the sweet baby in my arms, I feel panic instead of love. Because this isn’t the child I gave birth to. My husband whispers to the midwife. They all think I’m going crazy. But the tiny boy in my arms is crying again. I’m he knows I’m not his mummy. And I’ll do whatever it takes to get my son back.
I did it. I swapped my baby with another newborn in the hospital. As I hold the child in my arms, I hear my own little boy start to cry on the other side of the curtain. My heart is shattering into a million pieces.

This book hooks you from the prologue and keeps you guessing until the epilogue The Baby Swap definitely had sequel vibes to it. 🤔😍

🔪 REVENGE IS A DISH BEST SERVED COLD

🔪 Pick this up if you like/don’t mind:
📌 psychological thriller
📌 a quick and an easy read
📌 fast paced
📌 multiple POVs
📌 MOST UNLIKABLE characters
📌 unputdownable/ binge worthy
📌 dark, unexpected twist
📌 how far will you go for taking revenge on someone?

🔪 This was my first book by the author ✍🏻 and it certainly won’t be the last. The book kept me hooked from the beginning till the end. It was a quick read and I easily finished it in two sittings. What surprised me most about this book was the fact that what started as a simple revenge story soon turned out to be something dark and sinister. Never in a million years could I have predicted that plot twist. It came as a total surprise.

🔪 Recommended! Thanks to the author and NetGalley for the ARC.

Brilliant gripping story of two women who give birth to boys on the same day and the ways their subsequent lives unfold and their previous history leads to a dramatic conclusion. I have read 49 of Daniel Hurst's books but this is perhaps the most enjoyable yet. Thanks the publisher and NetGalley for the chance to ARC this book.

Thank you for the ARC. This was my first book by this author even though I’ve heard good things. I had a baby recently so it hit close to home. It was fast paced and had a few twists in the end. It was somewhat predictable but had short chapters and was a quick and easy read. Looking forward to reading more by this author.

In a London hospital in the middle of the night, a mom swaps her baby with another woman's baby. The rest of the book proceeds to tell why. We learn that Jade believes Avril ruined her life in several ways. And she had promised to get revenge. So when their eyes met in the maternity ward, Jade knew what she had to do. Switch the babies. Thank to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
