This story, as its title suggests, is about a seemingly impossible romance between a paparazzo and a Hollywood actress. The photographer is Rylee, who makes a good living taking photos of famous people without being noticed. Her grandfather taught her, and she knows all the tricks to get a good exclusive. The actress is McKenzie, the star of a successful science fiction series. She has been well-known and respected since she was a child. The series she stars in is about to end, and she wants to make a change in her career, perhaps as a screenwriter or director.
The two of them meet casually at a hotel door after Rylee takes some photos of McKenzie with a maybe secret partner. Rylee is a stranger to McKenzie, but Rylee has had a longtime crush on McKenzie, so this first encounter is a bit awkward. Later, however, Rylee has the opportunity to visit the film set, and there the two recognize each other, and a seemingly difficult relationship begins.
The two protagonists have their personal issues that will interfere, in addition to a seemingly incompatible profession. But there are more things that unite them without them knowing it yet.
I liked both of them; they are upright and know how to face problems with honesty. Without excessive fanfare given the environment in which it is set, there's more to the story than just that superficiality.

I looked forward to this book based on the blurb. I really liked Nan Campbell's Like They Do In The Movies that is about an actress and gossip journalist. So, as Hollywood Hearts was something similar, it sounded great. And it was okay and well written. But for me it missed the mark.
The pacing in the book was odd. The main characters saw each other in the beginning quickly. Then only at 40% they met and started to spend time together. 3rd act breakup came quickly. Out of 200+ pages, over half of the book the MCs were apart and didn't communicate. There was a lot going on outside of the romance for both (family, friends, work).
Both characters were really interesting but both acter out of character, based on what the beginning of the book told about them. And the change of heart wasn't discussed on page. With a bit more editing and more emphasis on the relationship, the book could have been great.

The blurb drew me in right aways I am not famous and I don’t even like paparazzi so an actress falling for a paparazzo ? Sign me up. There were good things in the book: the characters are all likable, and Mackenzie and Rylee have tough backgrounds that make them endearing. Sadly, the book didn’t work for me for several reasons. The first is the pacing. The book is quite short, but the chapters are very long. The early chapters weren’t focused on what I expected. For example, there was a whole chapter describing Mackenzie's life on set that didn’t really grab my attention. The characters don’t really meet until about 44% of the way through the book, and then a portion of their relationship develops off-screen. After that, everything happens very quickly. My main issue is that their relationship felt so underdeveloped that I couldn’t buy into it. It’s mentioned that they feel a connection, but Logan didn’t really show it. Exhibit A: If you feel connected to someone, you’d at least talk to them about your deceased parents or your sister, who means the world to you, right? Exhibit B: Aside from the epilogue, I can count the number of scenes they have together on one hand.
There was a lot of potential for angst and guilt from Rylee’s side, which I was expecting, or a conflict resolution that felt earned, but I didn’t find it.
To summarize, the premise was good, but the execution didn’t work for me on a personal level.

Clever premise of star falls for a paparazza, but fat too saccharine and unbelievable reasons for motivation. Also despite the outcome I’m not convinced by Brit’s ultimate response, as it’s still on her history. The cake consumption was prodigious; a slice of coffee cake and two muffins in one go seems like a lot, even if they did sound delicious. I did like the snark between the friends on both sides. Overall it was ok, but lacked bite given the subject area.

Begins with a good premise. Rylee Callison is successful as a paparazzi in Hollywood. She’s got a good supply of tipsters and can sell her shots. McKenzie Gomann has been working as an actress most of her life. She obviously doesn’t love the paparazzi that are part of her life, especially when one costs someone close to her their job. Of course the pair meet and there is a spark.
This is a cute enemies to lovers romance. Toni Logan creates a situation where both mains are sympathetic characters and you understand their motivations. This is a short novel at just over 200 pages and I thought too much time was spent on Rylee’s friend group and McKenzie’s work set. It is almost at the fifty percent point to get to a first date. And we miss the two weeks of texting and flirting that is supposed to have happened leading up to it. I never got to see their connection other than them saying they couldn’t get the other out of their minds. For a romance I found there was very little time spent on the two talking or getting to know each other so it was hard to invest in them as a couple.
Overall the premise is great. But too much happens off the page. I would have liked to see them work through their conflict and not get it wrapped in a tidy package as an epilogue. I still enjoyed reading the story and it was a nice escape from the wintery weekend.

The premise of a Hollywood A-list actress falling for a paparazzo was very enticing and interesting. McKenzie, a famous actress, and Rylee, the paparazzo, fall in love without McKenzie knowing what Rylee does.
I could well understand that McKenzie doesn't like the intrusive photographers who lurk everywhere and show no consideration. But she also knows that attention can also be important for many young artists' careers. It's give and take up to a certain point but also can be too intrusive. I'm a photographer myself, but I could never work as a paparazzo, I value my privacy too much and respect that of others.
But Rylee has very specific - and good - reasons why she still does this job, even though she sometimes reaches her limits.
The story is about dealing with negative experiences, the pros and cons of fame, loyalty, caring for others, and ultimately where your heart leads you.
An easy romantic story with lovable characters. The story starts well, we get to know the MCs and their environment and find out what experiences in life have shaped them. The tension builds, but then “bam” - all the problems and conflicts have vanished into thin air. Everyone is happy.
I would have liked more time together with McKenzie and Rylee, when they are finally together the conflict is not resolved, and we are presented with a fait accompli, albeit a positive one. It was too quick for me, I wish we could have witnessed them resolve the conflict and find a way with each other. But the happy ending was very nice.
A light romance with some drama, glitter, and a happy ending.

Hollywood Hearts is a charming romance with well developed characters and an interesting plot. I really liked this book, it was a quick and easy read, but I wish there was more interaction between the two mains. We didn't get any interaction between Rylee and McKenzie until about half way through, so the book felt rushed in the second half.
I enjoyed the writers style and would definitely read more books by her.

Hollywood Hearts is a steamy, emotional romance set against the backdrop of Hollywood's glamorous yet cutthroat world. The story follows Rylee Callison, a top paparazzo known for getting the perfect shot, and McKenzie Gomann, a beloved A-list actress who despises the press after being victimized by a scandalous photo. Their first meeting is charged with undeniable chemistry, but the connection quickly unravels when McKenzie discovers Rylee's role in the very images that ruined her life. Logan expertly delves into the tension between love and betrayal, drawing readers into a world where personal and professional lives collide in the most unexpected of ways.
Logan’s writing brings Hollywood to life with all its allure and deception, exploring the idea that happy endings aren’t always what they seem. Fans of contemporary romance will appreciate the twists and turns as Rylee and McKenzie navigate their love story in a city where appearances are everything, but real connections are harder to find.

Rylee Callison is a paparazzi, and makes her living photographing celebs in LA. She's ruthlessly good, to help support her hospitalized sister Ashley.
McKenzie Gomann is a popular film and TV star, and hates the paparazzi with a passion after they swept in after her Mom robbed her.
Despite that, a chance meeting has both of them feeling a pull of attraction.
(The misunderstanding McKenzie has thinking Rylee is a baker is cute, tho clearly will blow up later. Which it does.)
I did find it really clunky how the heroines argue how a photo Rylee took got someone fired, to almost immediately have her phone and tell McK she has a new job and boyfriend. Just weirdly awkward writing.

Good story. This one made me laugh out loud several times while reading this story. The main characters were well developed and the plot was very interesting. There was a bit of angst, but not to much to bog the story down, and the love scenes were really nicely done. Overall, this was a great read. I would definitely recommend this book to my friends and family, and I look forward to what's next from this author.

A very enjoyable quick read that I loved and enjoyed. The characters were fully developed and lovable. Tori did a great job with this one.
Thank you Bold Strokes Books, NetGalley and the author Tori Logan

Good start. Although not much interaction between the mains, the first two chapters do give a good flavour of their life.
The first 35% sets up the reason the mains are unlikely to get together, and is interesting but I am ready for the mains to interact.
After 40% there is a bit more interaction which I am happy to see. The mutual, “they can’t possibly be interested in me”, I hope isn’t drawn out.
It's not! Although I wasn't totally in to the relationship and actually put off by one main not admitting something pretty huge before they went to bed together, the scene following the discovery was really well done. The last 40% of this book was by far the strongest. I really enjoyed it and it was almost enough to round up to 4. I just felt the bigger part of the book didn't have enough compulsion to merit 4, but all in a strong 3.5.

Rylee is a paparazzi working the Hollywood scene, looking for celebrity shots that will pay top dollar.
McKenzie is an A-list actress who's tired of sleazy paparazzi making money off of her life. When she's photographed leaving a hotel with her cousin, the published photos cause her cousin to lose her job.
The attraction is instant when Rylee and McKenzie bump into each other on the set of the TV show McKenzie is filming. They go on a date and spend the night together, but before their relationship can develop any further, McKenzie discovers that Rylee is a paparazzi.
When life brings Rylee and McKenzie back together, will they be able to find a way forward?
With paparazzi lurking on every corner, normal life is but a distant spec for any famous person. With their lives splashed all over the world for the general public's entertainment, how can romance develop and be sustained?
Can McKenzie look past Rylee's paparazzi status to understand why she's doing it?
Can Rylee find happiness in her and her family's life?
This is an easy-to-read romance that reveals glimpses of the inner workings of Hollywood and the challenges of being a celebrity.
The background and setup are well-written, and this story could easily be a five-star read. What holds it back from hitting this rating is the lack of interaction and visible relationship growth between Rylee and McKenzie.
They have such limited 'onscreen' time together that their romance feels superficial. We need more romance in our romance!
Overall, this is a nice read that I enjoyed in one sitting, and I look forward to reading more from this author.

The story was really engaging with great characters and a well-paced plot, but I feel the introduction was too long and the conflict was resolved so fast it barely counts- and what a conflict it was. . Everything else was well done—the writing was smooth, and the world-building was interesting—but the relationship needed more to feel natural. Still, it was an enjoyable read.

would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this book
a star and a paparazzi photographer...what could go wrong....
its a steady storyline... one that is a bit predictable with a star and and paparazzi... though i have to admit to liking the character of rylee.. it was written really well...
and mckenzie though the star is very forgiving i believe... though she shouldnt be....
all in all not a bad one

Toni Logan delivers a delightful and fresh take on the classic opposites-attract romance in Hollywood Hearts, a rom-com that pairs an unlikely duo: a paparazza and a famous actress. In a world where these two professions typically clash, Logan masterfully crafts a compelling love story filled with sizzling chemistry, witty banter, and unexpected emotional depth.
The novel follows Erin, a dedicated paparazza who thrives on capturing Hollywood’s most elusive shots, and the glamorous yet guarded actress she’s been pursuing. When circumstances force them into closer proximity, the tension between them shifts from professional rivalry to undeniable attraction. Logan does an excellent job of balancing the enemies-to-lovers dynamic with genuine character development, making their eventual romance feel both earned and heartfelt.
One of the novel’s standout elements is its strong character work. Erin is not simply a stereotypical intrusive photographer, but a well-rounded protagonist with motivations that make her career choice understandable. The actress, in turn, is more than just a celebrity—she’s layered, vulnerable, and struggling with the pressures of fame. Their interactions are filled with electric chemistry, and Logan’s writing ensures that each moment, from the snarky exchanges to the tender confessions, feels authentic.
Beyond the romance, Hollywood Hearts also explores themes of privacy, trust, and the cost of celebrity life. Logan weaves these elements seamlessly into the plot, adding depth without taking away from the story’s lighthearted, feel-good nature.
For fans of rom-coms that bring something fresh to the genre, Hollywood Hearts is a must-read. It’s a well-paced, charming novel with just the right blend of humor, heart, and Hollywood glamour. Toni Logan proves that even the most unlikely love stories can be the most satisfying ones.

McKenzie is a famous actress and isn’t fond of the paparazzi because they use her status to make money off her. She meets Rylee and there’s an instant connection that turn into something more but when she learn who Rylee is she has to reconcile her feelings for the paparazzi while Rylee starts to wonder if this something she wants to continue doing. This was a bit instant love story because they interact with each other but it’s didn’t feel like they actual did but overall a good enjoy both characters the chemistry was there.
I received an ARC copy of this book from the Publisher via Netgalley and voluntarily leaving my review.

Rylee and MacKenzie meet and have a one night stand. Only it isn't. Rylee is a papparazzo and Mackenzie an actress. Rylee omits to tell Mac this is what she is so when Mac finds out things go downhill and they break up. This is a story about their second chance.
I quite like Toni Logan's books. This was quote a good read. I enjoyed it.

This is an interesting twist on a celebrity/Hollywood romance. The story started out with some insta-attraction, then slowed way, way down to the point where I was wondering how the plot arc could possibly wrap up in the remaining time my kindle said was left. The latter part of the book moved significantly faster, and I would have liked to see more time spent in that section. This was overall an enjoyable read and I’d recommend it to someone looking for a light celebrity romance.

Enemies to lovers, this story follows McKenzie, a Hollywood actress, who unknowingly falls for paparazzo Rylee. McKenzie is forced to deal with her negative feelings about her past of being used for her status, and Rylee begins to question if her career is really what she wants to continue persuing.
I was excited to pick this up because the idea of an a tress dating a paparazzo seemed like it could be entertaining. I am also all for the representation for LGBTQA community. The underlying idea and story is good. Good side characters. Decent development of who the characters are as a person.
However, what brings my rating down, is the problem of pacing. In my opinion, the romance and some of the timeline in general felt rushed. All of a sudden it would be weeks later and it felt odd and out of place. We also have nearly no interaction between the love interests for nearly half the book and then it jumps to date, to fall out, to the ending. I felt left wanting more. Like the relationship could have been shown more on the page. Where was the tension and build up?
Overall, I enjoyed the writing style and underlying story. Just wished for more time spent with tension for the characters. I would read another of her books.
If looking for a quick somewhat romantic read, go for this story!
