There is something about Hollywood that engages. Maybe it is the illusion (what is projected) or the desire to see the real person (doing everyday things). Whichever it is, this story provides a perspective that makes you think about the life of a paparazzi. Rylee Callison is good at what she does and is focused on making money to protect and provide for her family. McKenzie Gomann, actress with a negative view toward paparazzi because of what happened to her when she was dealing with a family issue. When the two meet, there is an instant connection. Of course, Rylee knows what McKenzie does for a living and there is confusion about Rylee's employment.

As the story unfolds, it is engaging at times and drags in some places. I would have liked more detail about the challenges of an actress dating a paparazzo. Also, it would have been good to have more comments/dialogues from Rylee and McKenzie's friends. In general, a good read.

I normally love books that feature Hollywood actresses, unfortunately this book was an exception. Lots of details about being an actress and paparazzo, but way little about the romance. I really do not like Insta love stories and this was a good example of that and on top of that I did not like the writing style. The book could have been so much better if more focus on the romance and interactions with friends and family, now all is unfortunately way to superficial.

This is my second book by this author and this one fell short. Its an enemies-to-lovers romance about a fairly famous actress, McKenzie, who unknowingly falls for a paparazzo, Rylee. It was interesting to see, but this was rushed and not at all what I thought it would be.

It was a decent book, but the pacing fell short and Rylee and McKenzie got together quickly after basically no interaction. It could have been fleshed out way more and explored the dynamic of an actress dating a paparazzo. This was a good try, but didn't do it for me. I don't really have much to say that is good, so I'll leave it here.

I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I can't in good conscious rate it below a three.

Toni Logan is a new author to me. I appreciated her writing style, it was an easy read.
My major contention with the book is there is a limited romance story. We start off with great chemistry with both times the MC's meet. The second progresses a little farther than the first. Then the MC's have a single date, sex, fight, and break up until they reconcile half way through the last chapter. Next up, the epilogue is 18 months later.
Each MC has more dialogue with their friends and other characters in the book than with each other.
Even with my thoughts above, I am willing to give Logan another chance. I enjoyed her writing style.

I loved this story. I laughed out loud several times. The MC’s were well developed and the plot was interesting. There was a bit of angst, and some nice love scenes. Overall, a nice read. I’m sure I will be reading more of this author’s work. Well done.

“Hollywood Hearts” by Toni Logan is an enemies-to-lovers romance about a fairly famous actress, McKenzie, who unknowingly falls for a paparazzo, Rylee. I was skeptical about this setup as I, like McKenzie, have negative feelings for paparazzi. I wasn’t sure how Rylee could be depicted as a good person and paparazzi at the same time. And how the issue of celebrity and paparazzi could be resolved.

I thought the book was a cute romance and had some interesting side characters as well. My main issue was the pacing. Over halfway through the book Rylee and McKenzie had barely interacted. So when they did finally get together, their feelings felt rushed and underrepresented in the pages. I wish the book had spent more time on them together and explored more of the conflict that could arise from a celebrity dating a paparazzi.

Overall, “Hollywood Hearts” has an interesting premise but did feel like it could be fleshed out more thoroughly. I did enjoy the read and had a good time with it. If you’re a fan of celebrity romances, I would recommend checking this out.
