Ugh. I really wanted to love this book as much as I've loved the other books I've read by this other. I just couldn't. In my opinion, it needs more editing before release. Round out the characters, and the story. It kind of jumps through some things and drones on about other things not important to the story. (Uggs being one of them).
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the chance to read this advanced copy.

Thank you NetGalley! This book was amazing! It kept me entertained page after page. I did not see the twists coming. Such a great read

I really liked the idea of this book and was really looking forward to reading it. Unfortunately, I had a difficult time getting into it from the very beginning. I felt it it was repetitive, predictable and I found myself skimming to get through it. Even though I wasn't super impressed with this book I will be trying another book by this author. Thank you to Netgalley and Inkubator books for an ARC of this book.

Please note: this review contains spoilers.

This is my first read by Nelle Lamarr, AKA Nelle L’Amour. I thought the premise was great and enjoyed the characters. It was a fun story, full of suspense and twists.

SPOILER alert:

I did guess the main twist during Chapter 44. I feel that the character named Tilda gave it away, and it may be less obvious if perhaps her name was Tilly. I also would have liked to see a bit more from the epilogue, I felt like there could be a bit more to that part of story!

Overall, I enjoyed this read and will be reading more titles from this author!

Sloan has dreamed of being a writer the majority of her life. She is even lucky enough to be the assistant to an author with so many current bestsellers. So the author isn't a peach to work for - hopefully Sloan can at least learn a few things, right? Everything changes the day Sloan returns from running errands (where she runs into her childhood crush...swoon!) and finds her boss dead. Thinking she hears something, she takes off running from the scene. Shortly after, Sloan becomes a bestselling author herself. Her dreams are finally coming true. That is...until they aren't. See, Sloan has a secret that only she could possible know about. Then the threats start and make her question the noise she heard that fateful day. It appears someone know what she did and wants her to pay for her lies...

I really enjoyed this one! This is my second Nelle Lamarr book and it was fantastic! The characters are great. I loved the writing style. The pace was fantastic. The chapters were great lengths. It kept my attention the whole time and I found myself needing to read more to find out what happens. I cannot wait to read more from this author!

I would definitely recommend this!

I've become a big fan of Nelle Lamarr! I was super stoked to read this early and it doesn't disappoint! It's a bit of a slow burn at first but then the twists and turns come out of nowhere! Don't miss this!!

From the very beginning, this book captivated my attention with its compelling storyline. The narrative is gripping, and within the first few chapters, you'll find yourself eager to uncover the mystery behind the murder of the illustrious Barbara Van Wick. The chapters are concise and to the point, though some could have been merged for a smoother flow. However, the pacing was excellent, effectively building suspense throughout. I would have appreciated more insight into Logan's history as it unfolded or perhaps a dual perspective from both Sloan and Logan to enhance the narrative depth. Nonetheless, it was an engaging and enjoyable read!

All My Lies by Nelle Lamarr is a gripping psychological thriller that explores the dangerous consequences of secrets and deception. The story follows a successful author who has finally written a bestseller, but her success is built on a dark, hidden truth that could destroy her career and family. As threatening messages begin to surface, she is forced to protect her secrets at any cost. Tense, fast-paced, and full of twists, Lamarr’s novel keeps readers on the edge of their seats, questioning how far one will go to maintain their lies. A compelling tale of suspense, guilt, and the high price of dishonesty.

This is a fast paced page turner of a thriller. My favorite. I loved Sloan. She wants to be a writer herself while working for one of the best authors. However, she's being stalked and receiving threats. Someone has a big secret their hiding. I loved the characters and how the story unfolds. I was engaged the whole time. I do feel like there was a little something missing. I do appreciate Netgalley for this arc to read and review. This was my first Nelle Lamarr novel. I do want to get into more of her work.

Thank you NetGalley and Inkubator books for the advance digital copy
Expected publication February 20, 2025

The plot delves into the life of Sloane, a successful author whose seemingly perfect world begins to unravel due to a hidden secret. As she starts receiving ominous emails, sinister letters, and chilling gifts from an anonymous stalker aware of her past, Sloane becomes entangled in a web of deceit and paranoia. I really liked "The Night Nanny" and "The Family Guest", but this one did not do it for me. I found Sloane annoying and the story dragged. I didn't hate it, and given that I have liked 2/3 of her books, I'll give her another chance, but this one felt rushed and disconnected.

First off I want to admit I had not heard of Nelle Lamarr and wow was I blown away by this story, I was pulled in initially by the cover and synopsis. The only reason why it took me the full 5 Days I took to read this was because I was reading in the evening before bed and had a limited time each night. I truly could have binged it out much faster. I really enjoy stories that I don’t see the ending coming and this one did not disappoint. The fact it was a young writer in the main character Sloan was really fun because we have all had a horrible boss and could relate on a basic level. I absolutely would love to see more of some of these characters in the future. I have definitely found another author I enjoy.

This story follows Sloan, a personal assistant to one of the most famous authors in town, Barbara. Sloan's dream is to become a famous author and so as Barbara's assistant, Sloan hopes to learn and be mentored from the best. In order to be a famous author and have a well known book, at what length will Sloan go in order to achieve this dream?

This book is definitely a fast paced thriller that will keep you on your toes. The writing really gave me Freida McFadden vibes. I really liked Sloan as a character and how she truly would go to great lengths to make her dream come to life. I will say that there were some parts of the book that I felt were too rushed and a bit confusing that I did have to go back to reread it and understand what happened. I liked how there were twists and turns throughout the book that I did have to question myself : "is it who I think it is?".

Overall I would say this book is a psychological thriller book that readers will enjoy.

Thank you to Netgalley and Nelle Lamarr for the ARC of this book!

The writing style is reminiscent of Freida McFadden's (who is actually name-dropped in the book). The FMC is completely imperceptive and irritating and the situations are so ridiculous it feels almost satirical at times. The overruse of exclamation points got annoying. Still, I was mildly enjoying it up until the "big twist". The villain reveal was over the top and cliche, the use of an archaic word resembling a racial slur was unnecessary and felt gross, and the epilogue was just terrible.

I’m not sure this book was for me. It didn’t really hold my interest. Others loved it. I may just not be the right audience.

The plot for this book was good but predictable. It was all plot and no character development. I wish there had been more character building. There was no real reason to like or dislike any of the characters.

This book follows Sloan an assistant who dreams to become a great writer and will do anything to become an author.

The concept of the book was in general interesting but I think there was an issue with the pacing here. There were times where the story just seemed to dip so low and it made it harder to continue. The ending was a little too predictable as well which was a little disappointing. However, I did really enjoy the short chapters and I did enjoy Sloane as a character.

In general, I don’t think this book was the right fit for me, but I do think it was enjoyable and would be good for those looking for a quick read and a good main character. This book publishes Publishing on February 20, 2025.

Thank you to Nelle Lamarr, Inkubator Books, and NetGalley for an advanced reader copy for an honest review of the book.

This was my second read by Nelle Lamarr so I want to thank NetGalley, Inkubator and Nelle Lamarr for the ARC of All My Lies! After reading The Night Nanny, I was so excited to get right into this thriller. It had me reading chapter after chapter not wanting to put the book down! It was an easy and fast-paced read with quick chapters and humor thrown in! I especially loved the Frieda McFadden references! I would definitely recommend this 5-star book by Nelle and look forward to my next book by her as well!

All My Lies" by Nelle Lamarr is a psychological thriller that delves into the life of Sloan, an aspiring author who aims to achieve her dream of writing a bestseller. This book has fast-paced narrative and unexpected twists. I rate 4 stars because some parts of the narative felt too wordy and dragged a little.
While it has its flaws, fans of psychological thrillers may find it a compelling addition to their reading list.
