I really enjoyed Becky Wade’s Sons of Scandal series, and Uneasy Street was a sweet, romantic ending. The subplots in this story were tied in nicely to the main story; each one complemented the other. Max and Sloane were both relatable, despite the fact that I’m not a billionaire nor an etiquette connoisseur, but I enjoyed getting to know them better. It was also great to see other characters from this series again. If you enjoy contemporary romance, definitely add Becky’s books to your TBR! 4/5 stars

I just love Becky Wade’s contemporary romances. Her characters are always so well done! Max and Sloane have so much baggage but oh man, I just wanted them to get their second chance! Uneasy Street is truly both enemies to lovers and a second chance romance, though they were never a couple before, the pain of best friends having a falling out certainly qualifies. Both hurt the other deeply, not quite realizing just how much. I loved watching their bond slowly mend and love begin to grow. I loved the themes of forgiveness throughout.

Ivy was adorable. A fun change of pace to have a teenager so involved in the story and with a story of her own. I loved joining in on Ivy’s search for her birth father and beyond. And her two rats! 😆

I loved the closure both Sloane and Max got with their families. And the conclusion to Fiona’s story spanning all three books- so full of redemption and forgiveness. Seeing what the other couples were up to was icing on the cake. Sad to say goodbye to Maine and this series and very much looking forward to whatever Becky Wade has for us next!

Wow that was so good and totally binge worthy! I loved Sloane and Max. They had amazing banter and chemistry! This was an amazing conclusion and it was fun to see Jeremiah and Jude sprinkled in through out the plot. I found the story to be swoony and I wanted to keep going and neglect all my chores! I would give this book a ten if it was possible!!! This was the best Sons of Scandal book out of all three and that's saying something!

Mad and Sloane (and Ivy!!) what a wild wild ride. This book had so many layers and stories to it that all wrapped up beautifully. I just finished it and I'm still teary eyed. This is a 5+ tissue book for sure.

I particularly appreciated Becky's mention of faith and God. I noticed in several of her other books she had became more mainstream and I missed the faith aspect of it. I do wish Max had more of a faith arc in his story. Because just going to church doesn't make you a Christian. But other than that I loved it and I may have to read it again!!!

Being a rakish playboy and a strait-laced etiquette expert, Max and Sloane had great chemistry and lots of banter. While this was a fun and sweet romance, it also didn’t shy away from covering some heavier topics, like familial death, abandonment/neglect, drug overdose, and adultery. Overall, I enjoyed reading this book and this series, and I look forward to seeing what Becky writes next!🩷

This was a really sweet closed door romance! The setting was great and I really loved the main characters and the romance was so cute!

Absolutely fabulous!!! What a darling heartfelt romance. The writing and this story made my heart so happy. It's the perfect kind of romance that's sweet and swoony with amazing characters, an entertaining storyline and delightful witty dialog. I loved the faith element and satisfying twist of mystery that kept me up way to late but so worth the loss of sleep! Definitely five star reading! This whole series is a must read!

Max’s story is finally here! I devoured Uneasy Street! Not only is it enemies to lovers filled with all the delicious banter, but it also weaves in a missing tiara & a wonderful adoption storyline with forgiveness & reconciling the past. Becky Wade wraps up this series in a great big bow & proves once again why she’s such an amazing writer, with endearing characters who feel so real.

I loved Max’s story! It was even more fulfilling than I imagined. It was nice to see the depth beyond his businessman, playboy image. Both he & Sloane are complicated characters with difficult pasts. They’re so perfect for each other, but had to get past the hurt & fears. Max also has his hands full trying to locate a missing tiara.

Ivy’s adoption story definitely tugged on my heartstrings. Her journey in meeting her father & discovering even more secrets had me eagerly turning the pages. She was a darling addition to the story. It was also fun seeing the other brothers again, & Fiona find closure with her storyline.

Highly recommend this book & the entire series! After finishing, I was immediately sad that this was the end. I’m hoping somewhere in the future we’ll get to see these characters again. I’m going to miss them! While Uneasy Street can be read as a standalone, it’s much better if you’ve read the previous books, as each story builds on the other. I love Becky Wade's writing and I absolutely adored the first two books in this series. Book 2 was one of the best books I read last year (out of 125!). That being said, this book was a disappointment to me. Wade did such an amazing job creating a terrible male character that then I actually hated him and wanted him to go away and leave Sloane alone after giving her some of the millions of dollars he cheated her out of. Picture this: you move into a new apartment and there's no water. It turns out your landlord turns off the water every time he wants to talk to you. This is not a meet-cute, this is a situation where you get a lawyer, a restraining order, and you go stay with friends. Max is a manipulative jerk and thus it was impossible for me to root for the HEA for the main characters.

I did love the endings of Fiona and Ivy's stories--lovely side plots.

Once upon a time Max Cirillo and Sloane Madison were close friends and business partners. But when their business relationship imploded, so did the friendship. Now, four years later, they’ll have no choice but to confront their history—and the undeniable spark between them.

Beneath the animosity was an underlying mutual attraction between them even though I wasn't that invested in it. Max also came out cocky and seemed to throw his money and status around. I found myself more drawn to the mystery of who Sloane's niece's birth father was. The missing tiara storyline also seemed unnecessary but the drama surrounding it was interesting.

I didn't like the audio for this. The male narrator had a text-to-speech kind of tone. The female narrator was just okay.

This is a sweet, clean friends to more story. Sloan and Max knew each other throughout college and even started a business together but due to misunderstandings they were no longer business partners. I liked that the story had the misunderstandings up front. It wasn’t a you know what you did and then other character trying to figure out what had happened. Max continued to build the business into a very successful one while Sloan began an etiquette business of her own. The couple are forced together after years of not speaking when Sloan agrees to take care of her niece, Ivy, for the summer and they rent a house from Max. Max makes sure they are the ones to rent his house because he wants to make amends for the past and get to know Sloan again. While Max and Sloan work through their issues, a few side stories are going on. Ivy looking for her birth father, Max’s issues with his estranged father, his mother and other family members. This book is part of a series which I had not read but the characters can stand alone and are easy to follow.
It is a clean romance, no language or explicit scenes. There are mentions of God, church and forgiveness which I think adds to the story. It is a story I would recommend and I want to read the previous ones in the series.

I really enjoyed this story. I enjoyed reading about the rest of the family as well. The slow build of the relationship between Max and Sloane was expected and enjoyed. The happily ever after was wonderful. I am so sad that this is the last book in this series since I enjoyed each one of the stories. I will eagerly want to read more books by this author.

This series is a great story and intro to her writing. 3 men are related through their father. The first book of the series starts with the eldest brother Jeremiah. I highly recommend starting with that novel Memory Road then the second Rocky Road then Uneasy Street. The author states at the end this is the last of the series.

I also enjoy other characters are given the spotlight - The mom of the first women Fiona. She was so much fun.

Becky Wade always writes romance settings and characters unlike any other author. Her third book of Sons of Scandals didn't disappoint in ending this trilogy with deep main characters and a visit with those from earlier books.
Sloane has returned to Maine to be with her niece Ivy while her adopted parents are on a trip. She is shocked to find out that her landlord is her former business partner, and now enemy, Max Cirillo. Max is now very wealthy with the company they started, and he had left Sloan out of when company went public, Ivy wants to find her biological father and Max and Sloan put differences aside to help her. With a shared goal, they find that they are still a good team and maybe always felt more than business partners.
Wade also gives an ending to the storyline of characters from earlier books and resolves two light mysteries in this story. While there are multiple storylines, the book flows well.
I started this book reading on Kindle thanks to NetGalley for an ARC, but I finished it as an audible book. I enjoyed the narrators and recommend the audio book. All opinions are my own.

I received my advanced reader's copy of Uneasy Street from the author, from the publisher, Victory Editing from NetGalley. This is my own opinion of the book. There is a lot going on in this community. I think it is an interesting way to show what different ways miscommunication, greed, a selfish lifestyle and stubborn attitudes are just a few of the ways that can lead to devastation in a business, personal friendship or family relationships. (I'm thinking of Fiona's character here, too.) I liked the storylines. Madison seems to take a few hits from left field, including Ivy's very serious and possibly life changing quest. Ivy is an excellent character and go between with her aunt and Max.
I was looking forward to seeing how the trauma and drama Fiona caused would work out with her sister too.
Overall, I am pleased with the acknowledgement of wrongdoing, the heart changes and genuine forgiveness asked for and given in the various circumstances. It's a good story that certainly and sadly reflects stories in real life.

I have really enjoyed each story in the Sons of Scandal series. Uneasy Street has so many things I love in a romance! it has great characters, banter, humor, complex family relationships, faith, and lessons on forgiveness.

I absolutely loved Max! He’s the perfect swoony male character that I look for in my romance novels. He’s confident, smart, funny, kind, and caring. I loved the slow progression of his and Sloane’s relationship and their chemistry was off the charts- or as Ivy would say, “spark-y!” Sloane is a bit of a complex character due to her family history. Her growth throughout the story felt real and believable. I really enjoyed Ivy’s character, her story, and how it ended. One of my favorite things about this novel is the lesson on forgiving versus not forgiving and how that could affect your life.

Uneasy Street by Becky Wade is the third and final story in the Sons of Scandal series. I’m seriously going to miss these characters. While I’m sad it’s over, I am looking forward to reading whatever Ms. Wade writes next!

I read the first two books but it took me a bit to remember who was who since it's been a year. I really enjoyed this book. Max and Sloanes banter was really fun.
Sloane was watching her niece and ended up at max's guest house. Max had arranged it without her knowing. They had been friends years before until their business relationship ended.
Sloanes niece was on the hunt for her birth father.
She wanted to find out who he was so Sloane and Max ended up working together to try to help her find him.

A lovely end to the series:
This was a sweet and entertaining book. It was the third book in the series and I'd definitely recommend reading the preceding books as they provide clarity into the family dynamics and some of the side characters who are featured here again. I liked how it was written from multiple points of view and yet it was still easy to follow along and the pacing was excellent. Personally I would have liked the faith aspects to have been more prevalent but I did enjoy the themes of reconciliation and forgiveness that were featured.
I really enjoyed the relational aspects of the story, from the relationships to the reunions. Max and Sloane initially clashed and had to resolve their past in order to establish something meaningful and lasting. It took them a long time but it was fun watching them finally get there.

Max Cirillo, the third son in the Sons of Scandal series, was the ultimate handsome alpha male. He was tough to the point of being ruthless and single-minded when it came to meeting his goals successfully. And he had unfinished business with his former business partner and ex-best friend, Sloane, a beautiful woman whom he had cut out of the massively prosperous business they had co-founded years ago. Sloane agreed to come back to Maine for a summer in order to care for her teen-aged niece while her parents were out of the country. She was thrilled with the living space that had been arranged for them until she realized that the apartment was owned by Max and it was located behind the mansion Max lived in. It was quite a dilemma and due to the airtight lease, she was stuck. I have to admit that at the beginning of the story, I was a little afraid of Max and his intensity and manipulation but I was able to relax a little when I realized that Sloane was angry at but not afraid of Max. If anything, Max was afraid of Sloane and his powerful feelings for her that gave her a measure of control over him. His efforts to regain that control accomplished the exact opposite. This was a complicated character and he had a heartbreaking family background so it was interesting to see how the author wove his story with Sloane’s to create vulnerability, mutual understanding, and eventually a measure of healing. This book could be read as a standalone but I highly recommend starting at the beginning of the series in order to better understand the interactions of the characters.
