I loved this story. The connection between Margaret and Lewis was so fun to read. To see them go from one night stand, to friends with benefits, to eventually a full blown relationship was beautiful. I loved how strong willed Margaret was. She was so determined to get what she deemed her rightful place. Lewis was a mystery for a good part of the book but once he started opening up I felt for him. The author did an amazing job of presenting this story. I felt as if I was there. I wanted to know more about the elusive great uncle and the secret the grandfather knows that made Margaret's dad change his vote. I can't wait to read more on this family. The author dropped so many relationship hints on this book to where I can't predict whose story will be next.

This was such a good book, with it's history, secrets, diverse characters, and the beauty of finding something you didn't realize you wanted. I really loved Margaret and Lewis. These two, whether coincidence, fate, or whatever were definitely destined to orbit each other. Neither wanted a real commitment, but eventually something changed, and it made for an interesting read. The Hawthorne and Watson-Grosvenor families both have some interesting history and I was completely here for it. Mags grandad...whew that man spiked my blood pressure! I'm so excited for more in this series because whew the secrets, those side conversations that left us wondering, and I want to see Donovan happy. Kelly Cain really did her big one with this book.

I am a self-admitted book worm, and I have been the majority of my life. Here lately, I gravitate towards suspenseful books. Ultimately, at my core I am still a fan of romance, especially series. Because of this, I was very excited to read this book.

I tend to be hesitant to read books from a new author, because it sometimes takes me a while to get used to their particular writing style. This was not the case with this book. I also liked that it was told in first person and it switch from different perspectives.

I also appreciated the “disclaimer” the author included at the beginning of the book. Although it did not take away from my enjoyment of the book, it did help me mentally prepare for one of the issues in the book.

I absolutely loved this book. I definitely feel like both characters (and families) have more story to be told. That is why I am extremely glad that this is just book one of the series. I can’t wait to read what is next. I definitely recommend this book.

Quick Summary: A legacy romance

My Review: Fly By Night by Kelly Cain is book #1 in the Texas Hawthorne Legacy series.

About the Book: "Can an unforgettable one-night stand in London threaten a 100-year-old family legacy in Texas?"

My Final Say: Food, family, history, legacy, secrets, encounters, betrayals, growth, love

Readers who enjoy stories with those themes will surely like this novel.

Other: The family was introduced. Just enough was dropped to keep things interesting for future installments in the series.
