Penguin is just sitting back, slowly beginning to think of Easter and the chocolatey treats that might come his way – but Pup has other ideas, imagining eggs as ways to get to Mars, or as containers for dinosaurs, or perhaps eggy pirate ships for when he's not quite so exuberant. This then is a lesson about chalk-and-cheese relationships, how we don't all approach things the same way but can still love each other regardless. It's a lively, colourful and well-rhymed lesson, too, where the entertainment on the page disguises any educational purpose very well indeed. It doesn't actually try and force any kind of moralising down our throats, rather gets about its business quite enjoyably – a strong four stars.
