I have always had a love for Viking lore and history so when Vinland Saga came out I was more than a little excited for two of the things I love getting combined, namely Vikings and manga. When I saw the title of this manga followed by praise from Yukimura I knew I had to read it and I am so glad I was able to get an ARC. This manga is fantastic. It captures the lore and harsh times of the Vikings and interweaves this with a story of Luke or ‘War-Wolf’ Odin and his quest for revenge. This mixes historical with a touch of fantasy and a lot of thrills and battles and that is just from the first volume. I will definitely be following this one closely and have already ordered a physical copy.

The art style is brilliantly suited to the story and panel placing is fantastic as well. I really can’t wait for the second volume and would recommend this to any historical manga fan.
