I kneeeew I would love this one.

I was waiting for Alec’s story since "Romancing the Grump" (which is the first book I read of the series), and I wasn’t disappointed. I actually think it’s my third favorite book. Maybe second, I can’t decide.

I loved all the main characters. Alec —of course, was amazing, just like I knew he would. All the Appies are certified green flags but this one was good. No one can beat a good dad.

Evie was lovely too. I liked her, and I think she stuck more to me than other female main characters in the series. I’m not a mom and she showed me that it can’t be that bad. There are good things about becoming the mom too. Her relationship with Juno is so inspiring.

And little Juno. I love her with my entire being. She’s too adorable, and I feel like I can see her, rather than read about her. I might even have gotten a tiny bit of baby fever, which is a difficult task to achieve. That’s how good she is.

I wonder if there’ll be more Appies books, but guess who’ll keep reading them as they come? *points toward myself with a smile*

This was a sweet romance. I really enjoyed the relationship between the characters and just how sincere it felt.

And of course, I loved reading about the hockey team banter and shenanigans too.

I'd definitely recommend this read.

Alec and Evie have great chemistry as a Brother‘s best friend romance trope. Their relationship is so sweet and I love how Alec‘s relationship with Evie‘s daughter Juno develops over the course of the book as he takes on more of a father role with her. The book is very light on the hockey content for a hockey romance though. The hockey games aren’t really covered, although there are the side plots of Alec‘s knee injury and the twins behaviour off the ice which are interesting and hockey related. Overall I enjoyed this book but I‘d give it four stars because it felt a bit light on the sports content for me for a sports romance.

“I just like her. And no amount of mental gymnastics will talk me out of it.”

Gah! I really really loved this book. Alec is genuinely sweet, cinnamon roll, mature, kind, and pretty unassuming (in the lineup of hockey players 😅). I love a romcom where a good guy gets the girl— don’t get me wrong, a grump and a flirt are two of my favorites, but it feels genuinely good to see a great guy fall in love, and that’s what we have here.

And Evie, with the unrequited crush on her best friend’s older brother, and a new baby, an idiot ex, vulnerable, and trying to start new? She is great. Learning to accept help, a lot of help, is so important for a new mom— but more for Evie because she’s so alone! I love her growth arc, she is such a lovable character. And the friendship between them, the way it grows and changes and turns to more, it is SO SATISFYING.

I’m looking forward to comfort reading this book when the audio comes out. I know it will be just as amazing.

If you like sports romance novels, you'll like When Alex Met Evie. Hockey romance, little sister's best friend that needs somewhere to live, what else do you need to know?

The Appies series just gets better and better. Each book feels like a warm hug from a close friend. When Alec Met Evie had me giggling and kicking my feet, swooning, laughing, crying sad tears, and crying happy tears. I felt all of the emotions! No spoilers, but Chapter 29 - absolutely shut up, I was SOBBING! Who gave Jenny Proctor the right to emotionally wreck me like that?

Is it really over? I don’t want it to be!

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Okay, so this is the first time I've read anything by Jenny Proctor, but it most definitely won't be the last! I am OBSESSED with Alec and Evie! Add into the equation that this is a hockey romance and I am totally done for. I get so excited when I discover a 'new-to-me' author, and usually I'm so late to the party compared to everyone else, but I will absolutely be catching up and reading everything I can get my hands on!

This book is the perfect end to the series. This book is about found family and best friends family. Alec is the captain of the Appies. Evie is a first time mom who is trying to find her feet after her partner has left her and her baby.
The book is a closed door romance and is swoon worthy.
Thank you to the publisher for allowing me to read this.

I loved this book! This series has been amazing and the characters are just wonderful. I was worried about the age gap piece because I recently read an age gap book that was cringy and thought maybe the trope wasn’t for me, but this was done well! And of course the hockey element was perfection. 100% in my hockey romance era! I loved the passion and fire that was felt between the two characters while still keeping it closed door. Highly recommend this book!

Alec and Evie have not seen each other for a long time. Megan, Alec's sister, volunteers Alec to help Evie move. Evie, recently divorced single mom, of Juno, was excited for her fresh start, but the house she rented flooded... Alec let's her and Juno move in with him. Will this close living arrangement work?

cozy and fun time! Hockey romance and Jenny Proctor did not miss! I always enjoy her works and this is no exception. Truly a book for everyone as it's not spicy, just an overall fun time where they kiss and gain emotional connections. at times giving rom-com vibes.

This is just so sweet and swoon feelings, You'll fall hard for these characters and be rooting for them all the way.

Evie, a newly single mom, moves to a new town to start fresh as a luthier. The only person she knows is Alec, her childhood crush and a pro hockey player nearing the end of his career. Their reunion rekindles old feelings, and Alec quickly becomes attached to both Evie and her daughter, Juno. As he grapples with life after hockey, Evie navigates single motherhood in a story that is heartfelt, authentic, and beautifully written. With deep emotional moments and a genuine connection between the characters, this final installment in Jenny Proctor’s series is a touching and satisfying read.

A cozy hockey romance that brings together a hockey player and his little sister’s best friend.

Jenny Proctor just has a way with romance and I am here for it. Alec is the Captain of the Appies and is nearing the end of his career due to his body just not being able to keep up but he really has nothing else. Evie is a new single mom, fresh off of her divorce and is seeking a new life on her own which just happens to be in the same town as Alec. Evie has known Alec for ever as he's her childhood best friends older brother but there's an age gap, so I'm not sure how the tile plays into this since they've known each other forever (what ever it is it's gone over my head). The romance is slow but cute and Alec is just fab. I might have teared up at the end with the guy scene and I'm sad this is the last book in the series but way to end it on a good note. Very enjoyable and I'll keep on reading this authors books.
