I found The Wedding Vow to be a good thriller with a couple of surprising twists. The book kept me engaged and I was very interested in the characters and their backstories. My main problem with the book was that there were a few characters who were briefly introduced, and then came back ten chapters later with no reminder. Just “she saw Chloe…” and I had to struggle and end up rereading to figure out who Chloe was. (FYI there is no character named Chloe in the book, just an example…)

I don't feel like I can summarize this book without giving too much away.

I thought the twists were really well done. I was sure I had figured it out, and I kinda did but was still surprised.

My only negative is that I felt like the book was a little too long, but the story was good.

Dandy Smith knows how to write a suspenseful thriller!

The story unfolds through the perspectives of two individuals, shifting between Verity, Linden's wife, whose demise is revealed at the story's outset, and a second character whose identity I'll keep secret. Following Linden's death, Verity discovers his infidelity and is plagued by numerous unresolved questions, particularly regarding the woman involved. As she investigates, Verity begins to distrust nearly everyone in her vicinity. I, too, was uncertain about the mistress's identity. My sole minor criticism is some bewilderment near the climax, but I was generally satisfied with the resolution.

Thank you to NetGalley and Embla Books for the advanced reader copy. All opinions are my own.

She is the perfect wife, he is the perfect liar. It’s the perfect game of cat and mouse, back and forth and I really enjoyed it. Verity and Linden Lockwood vowed to spend their lives together, til death do they part and five years later, Linden is brutally murdered. A year after his death, Verity’s world is turned upside down again when she realises they weren’t the perfect couple after all. This is a great psychological thriller that builds the tension and has some brilliant twists. Thank you to NetGalley, Embla Books and the author for the chance to review.

Verity and Linden Lockwood promised to be together forever, through thick and thin, in sickness and health, until death separated them. Fast forward five years, and they’ve managed to keep their love alive, steering clear of becoming just another cliché couple. But then, tragedy strikes when Linden is brutally murdered in their seemingly perfect home, and Verity’s world comes crashing down. It turns out they weren’t the flawless couple she believed; Linden had been cheating on her. Now, Verity is on a mission to find out who the other woman is, digging deep into Linden’s life. The suspects are everywhere—her neighbor, her best friend, her assistant, even her cousin. As she uncovers shocking truths about Linden, Verity realizes she never really knew him at all, and the danger she faces might be greater than she thought. Can she expose the other woman before she ends up in the morgue next to her husband?

The tale is narrated from two angles, alternating between Verity, the wife of Linden, who turns up dead at the book's opening, and another character I won’t give away. When Linden passes away and Verity learns about his affair, she’s left with a ton of unanswered questions, particularly about the woman he cheated with. As she dives deeper into her search for the truth, Verity starts to suspect almost everyone around her. I was also left guessing who the mistress might be. My only small complaint was some confusion towards the end, but I was generally pleased with how it all concluded.
Thank You @Netgalley and @Embla Books for allowing me to review this ARC.

Do you really know who you married? That is the question that Verity, the wife of Linden must figure out. Verity and Linden are happily married and one day, Linden is suddenly murdered. Throughout the book, Verity learns that her "perfect" husband isn't so perfect and that there were secrets and lies she did not know about.

Let me tell you this book was uh-maze-ing! I love that this book really hooked me as a reader from the start. Told from a dual POV, between Verity and another individual - the storytelling from the author was fantastic. There were so many twists and turns as I was reading this book that I finished it in one sitting. I felt like the author did a fantastic job keeping the story at a good pace that it didn't feel like it was rushed or too slow.

This book is a fast paced thriller with a hint of romance. For those who love the psychological thriller aspects of a book, this one is for you.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dandy Smith for the eARC of this book. This is my honest review.

Verity and Linden Lockwood appeared to have had a perfect marriage. But as in many such cases, appearances in this situation were deceptive.

When Linden dies, and she discovers he'd had an affair, Verity is left with more questions than she can answer - especially about who her husband betrayed her with. Driven to the edge of madness in a search to find the culprit, in the process, Verity suspects almost everyone around her.

A twisty thriller that entertains plentifully, this one gets 3.5 stars.

How well do we know those we love? Dandy Smith makes you rethink everything with The Wedding Vow. A taut thriller with a compelling yet twisty love story that hooks you. The alternating POVs are handled well and maintain the story’s moderate pacing as well as keeps the tension and suspense central to the whodunnit going throughout.

This is a keep the popcorn coming novel with an unexpected and wholly satisfying ending.

No stone is left unturned here.

Fine storytelling, good writing, excellent characterization, a multilayered plot, an overall great read…

5/5

I enjoyed this book, it was easy reading and I liked the writing style. The book was well-paced and I found the storyline interesting, especially the sections from 'the other woman'.

I did guess the big twist within the first few chapters, but only because of the sheer amount of thrillers I've read. It was still fun seeing how it all came together and there were some other reveals which were still a surprise to me. I would recommend this book to others.

Brilliant thriller with a classic 'who dunnit?' storyline. Cleverly crafted so that you don't trust anybody, and constantly second guess yourself. Satisfying reveals and pay off at the end.

From the beginning this book had me hooked. Within the first couple of chapters you have a murder. Then within a few more chapters you find out there was another woman.

This is told in dual POV. I kept turning the pages I was so intrigued. This was my first book by Dandy Smith but I think it was great.

Thank you Embla Books and NetGalley for the advanced digital copy of this book. All opinions are my own!

Wow this book had me skipping forward in anticipation and backward to check what I’d missed or overlooked. A great read, one I would read again and an author I will have to look up to read previous books.

Ohh wow this was my first read from this author and wow I love it. I know as soon as I read that first chapter and I was going to be in for a rollercoaster of a read which wow it did not let up from start to finish I was gripped. There was many jaw dropping twists which I did not see coming. I really liked the writing style and how it was told from dual perspective which I think helped build up the suspense. Verity Thinks she has the perfect marriage but has anyone got the perfect marriage. The book was full of secrets and so many twists and turns. I will definitely be recommending this to everyone fantastic book. Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read I can’t wait to read more from this author.

Verity's husband has been found murdered and she soon finds out that her picture perfect marriage isn't what she seemed.

I love these kind if reads. It always amazes me how spouses never really know there other halves and Verity is no exception.

There are twists twists and more twist and more than once the author takes down us down a road only to change direction and makes the reader gasp,

It is quite a brilliant read.

**Book Review: *The Wedding Vow* by Dandy Smith**

I had the opportunity to read *The Wedding Vow* by Dandy Smith as an advanced reader copy (ARC) through NetGalley, and I’m so glad I did. This book combines the intrigue of a thriller with the emotion of a love story, creating a compelling narrative that kept me hooked from start to finish.

The story is told from two points of view, flipping between Verity, the wife of Linden, who is found dead at the beginning of the book, and another character whose perspective I won’t spoil. I really enjoyed the dual narrative, as it gave the story depth and kept the suspense high. The alternating viewpoints allowed for a deeper understanding of both characters and made the twists and turns even more effective.

There were plenty of secrets, and while I was able to guess one of them, the ending completely surprised me. The author did an excellent job keeping me engaged throughout, and I finished the book in just a couple of days.

That said, I did hit a bit of a snag toward the end. There was a section where I started getting a little confused, and I had to really focus to keep track of the details. Despite this, the twists were worth the extra concentration, and the final payoff was rewarding.

Overall, *The Wedding Vow* is a thrilling, fast-paced read with a touch of romance. I’d definitely recommend it to fans of psychological thrillers and love stories. My only minor issue was the confusion near the end, which is why I’m giving it 4/5 stars, but it’s still a book I’d happily recommend!

All opinions are my own.

I ended up skimming this for the most part as previous reviews gave me the entire story. Verity’s husband dies and she finds out all these secrets about him. While the ending was a shock, it wasn’t super interesting to me.

Wow wow wow

What a wild exhilarating ride this book was. Verity’s husband has been murdered and a year later while trying to put her life back together she discovers he had been having an affair.

I couldn’t put it down. It’s told from 2 POV and the tension is upheld excellently from both sides. It’s truly an excellent read
