Destructively Mine is the second book in the Webs We Weave series. It follows Phoebe and Rocky who are determined to live honest lives after living a life of conning. Phoebe is fake dating Jake, who is from one of the three richest families in Connecticut. But she’s actually dating Rocky who is her best friends brother. To make matter worse Phoebe’s and Rocky’s mothers show up to start a matchmaking con.

This was really good and a great second book. I really liked the con that was going on in this and there was so many answers and plot twists in this. I loved the dynamics in this both of Phoebe and Rocky’s relationship and the whole group. There was some interesting twists with Hailey too. I think this series is well worth a read and I cannot wait for the next installment. I have seen some criticism for this that the characters are too similar to the characters in the addicted series. I can understand why people are saying this but I think these characters do stand out on their own and I do like each of their traits. I had such a good time reading this and I love how fresh this series feels. Plus, there is so much chemistry between Phoebe and Rocky, I just love their relationship.

"Destructively Mine" is the second volume in Krista and Becca Ritchie's "Webs We Weave" series, a trilogy that seems far too reductive to simply label as "romance."

The book picks up exactly where the previous volume, "Dishonestly Yours," left off. That book ended with an absolutely shocking cliffhanger that became the central focus of this second volume.

Indeed, "Destructively Mine" is a book where plot development takes up a lot of space. The characters spend most of their time seeking the truth about their families and implementing a plan to help make the city of "Victoria" their true home.

Precisely for this reason, the true protagonists of this volume are not just Phoebe and Rocky, but the Tinrocks, the Graves, and their family dramas.
By now, you're probably tired of hearing me praise Krista and Becca Ritchie's ability to create characters with strong bonds, but the truth is that, being the queens of the "found family trope," they obviously managed to win me over once again with their characters.

Besides Phoebe and Rocky (of course), I loved Nova, Trevor, Hailey, Oliver, and Jake, who hadn't attracted much of my attention in the first volume but who, in this case, was one of my favorite characters.

I fell a little bit in love with Oliver and his attentiveness towards Hailey, and what can I say about the visceral affection that the Tinrocks and the Graves showed for each other? I love these families.

Of course, I haven't forgotten about Phoebe and Rocky, who remain the backbone of this series. I found them both wonderful; despite their now consolidated love, every scene they shared warmed my heart, although I must say I preferred their tender moments to the more passionate ones.

Overall, "Destructively Mine" kept me glued to the pages from beginning to end. The last few chapters were nothing short of adrenaline-pumping, and the book was chock-full of twists and turns that left me stunned.

Putting aside for a moment the immense love I felt for this book, I must admit that there were a couple of things I would have preferred to be handled differently, namely the time skip that occurred around the middle of the book and the fact that some interactions with the secondary characters happened off-screen.

Despite this, however, I reiterate that I really, really liked "Destructively Mine." It was my cure during some downright horrible days, and I truly can't wait to get my hands on the third volume of the series.

I’m honestly not surprised that I loved this book, it delivered exactly what it promised. Are the characters eerily similar to those from the Addicted series? Absolutely. And while I can see how this might bother some readers, I personally adore it. I’m always on the lookout for books that evoke the same emotions, and this series hits the mark perfectly.

I remember saying that the first book felt like it was setting the stage, which bothered me because I wished there was more substance to the story. Honestly, I think this sequel should have been combined with the first book to create a more complete and satisfying opening to the series. It would have made the story feel fuller and eliminated the need to wait for the final book ;)

That said, was it predictable at times? Sure, but did that take away from my enjoyment? Not at all. I was fully invested from start to finish. Some plot twists thrilled me, while others didn’t land as strongly, but overall, it kept me hooked.

One thing I absolutely loved about this installment is how involved the side characters were. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy Phoebe and Rocky. Their relationship and banter are fun to read, but I found myself more drawn to the side characters’ stories. Maybe it’s because Phoebe and Rocky’s dynamic felt a bit repetitive at times. I’m not entirely sure.

Regardless, if you enjoyed the first book, you should definitely pick this one up. It builds on the foundation of the series in a way that feels both familiar and fresh.

“There will never be a day, a night, a minute, a moment, a breath where you aren’t destructively mine.”

I LOOOOVED this book! Last month I reread 'Dishonestly yours' to be fully prepared for the release of 'Destructively Mine,' so I completely immersed myself in this universe and it was a beautiful experience.

This second book was packed with plot twists and incredibly intriguing: we are given several answers (will they be reliable or unreliable?) and there isn't a single empty or boring passage. I was already captivated by the cast of characters, but now I can say for sure that I love all of them them deeply: I love the tension and chemistry between Phoebe and Rocky, and I adore the relationship between the Graves and the Tinrocks, but most of all, I love Jake! He's the perfect addition to this group of messy con artists.

I can't wait to see how the trilogy wraps up and to learn more about some dynamics... especially about Hailey's 'situationships' (iykyk!!).

As always, I find myself wondering how Krista and Becca Ritchie manage to create the best found families time and time again.

“the graves and tinrocks—we were all just a merry little gang of heathens in hell together.”

destructively mine’s the kind of books that gives u answers but at the same time gives u more questions and well what a roller coaster was the final part of the story because if at the end of book 1 i was curios of what would have happened next now that i even read more i’m even more curious especially since all the mystery involved now… i just need answers now…

i liked this one more respect the first one and the more i get to know more of these characters the more i start to be intrigued and interested especially thanks to all new dynamics and the relationships created!!

we have a unique sort of fake dating trope involved with a forbidden romance and ofc a lot of tension included and it’s kinda giving riverdale vibes in the end so if u were/ are a fan of that series well try and pick this series or continue reading it :)

now that i have more questions and i’m interested i’ll be definitely picking the next book in the series because as i said before i need answers!!

a lot of thanks to netgalley and pan mcmillan to send me the e arc of this book in exchange for my honest opinion!

I really enjoyed the. Addicted series. So I went in to this one with high hopes and I was not disappointed. I love the idea of starting over and all the drama that ensues. This would make an excellent series and a would be amiss if the rights weren’t being acquired. Very enjoyable read!

An intense and deeply emotional romance that tugs at the heartstrings. The Ritchie sisters craft flawed but deeply human characters, and their signature blend of angst and passion makes this impossible to put down.

Sadly not as good a book one but still very much gripping but also very much predictable at times. Which sadly lessend my overall enjoyment. Everytime you think you're close to uncovering all of their secrets, new ones appear, which after some time feels really repetitive. I feel like this series could have been a duology. I'm still intrigued how the story continues though, so i'll still probably pick up book 3.
