As a reader who absolutely loved Whiskey Business I was SO thrilled and excited to read the next series. Happily I can say that I wasn't disappointed. This had plenty of spice mixed with really loveable characters characters who, in my opinion had perfect chemistry and it was set in Scotland which is where I'm from. I don't think this book had one trope to it, I felt it was a perfect mix of everything I love in books and can't wait to read more.
Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely loved Whiskey Business and so I was very excited to read the next in the series, and it did not disappoint!
What you'll find in Scotch on the Rocks:
🖤Likeable and relatable black cat FMC Juniper with an actual black cat
🦮Golden retriever type MMC Callum. Local vet (LOVE vet rep!), the guy always willing to lend a hand.
🌶️Plenty of spice right from the start!
🔥Slow burn romance with lots of heated moments!
🧪Perfect chemistry!
🏴SCOTLAND!!!
💚Vegan rep! As a vegan I LOVED that Juniper was a vegan even if it was only mentioned very briefly
💕Foster and adoption rep! Another thing that isn't in nearly enough books imho!
👴🏻Aging parents
Elliot Fletcher is now one of my fave romance authors and I can't wait to read more of her books! These books hit every romance beat but never feel tropey! She gives us a lot of spice but also a true love story!
Highly recommend this to any romance/spice lover!
Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I don't think this was particularly good – although it had its moments – but somehow I'm compelled to keep reading the series. This had quite a few of my own personal romance turn-offs and the geography of Glasgow in the first chapter made no sense (Hillend subway??) and I don't understand why some characters have their dialogue written out in dialect when all the characters are from Skye and presumably share a similar accent.

Scotch on the Rocks had everything I loved about Whiskey Business and took me right back to the Isle, kicking my legs in pure delight. It follows Juniper, an independent, avoidant black cat girlie (hard relate) who helps run the local inn and is sneakily doing a little refurb. Did I mention she lives next door to a Macabe brother who is giving golden retriever (he is a vet), can do absolutely anything and has been pining for her long term?
This is another great small town romance with plenty of tension, conflict, romance and spice. The opening had me gasping and so intrigued - thankfully the rest of the book lived up to it. The village feels so alive and I’m just as interested in the side characters and their gossip as the main plot. It was lovely to catch up with April and Mal (Mal was the funniest character by far). The tension between Juniper and Callum was intense. I loved the banter and nicknames, the slow burn will-they-won’t-they and care that Callum clearly had for her. The blushing was real. Shakespeare the cat was also a highlight.
Scotch on the Rocks was an incredibly enjoyable read, giving all the main points of a romance I love that is interweaved with serious topics (family illness, hyper independence, family conflict, losing your spark). The location and characters are vibrant, the chemistry and timing is perfect and I cannot wait to see what happens next on the Isle of Skye!

This was such a fun read, I couldn't put it down, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Another brilliant book from Elliot Fletcher.
The snarky banter between Callum and Juniper was just brilliant - written so well that I could see the smirks and eye rolls! And the way that the banter is used to build the relationship and allow the characters the space they need to grow was just beautiful.
The pining, the yearning, the wanting, oh my! And no miscommunication to be seen in sight. How I fell hard for the honesty of the feelings here and felt desperate for things to work out for these two. Both for their own characters sense of self and development, but also because these two were just great together!
The content warnings are there for a reason - I'd half forgotten about the storyline of the McCabe Dad from Whisky Business but had to be gentle with myself in this reading finding myself a bit more sensitive to the subject - but also finding myself in awe of an author writing something complex with such authenticity.
Not sure I've ever read a 'the other brother's trope before, so no comparisons can be made, but this was good. Heartbreaking/wrenching, but a great journey. Maybe something worth reading more of in the future if this is the bar 👌
With thanks to NetGally (and HarperCollins) for the digital review copy of this - I know it'll be a hugely popular read this summer and I'm delighted I was able to read and review it before publication ☺️

4✨i had such a great time being back with the macabe brothers on the Isle of Skye, and just like in whisky business Elliott’s writing fully transports you there and made it impossible to not read this book in my head in a Scottish accent.
this book had it ALL. age gap, brothers ex fiance, black cat x golden retriever, small town romance and a fuck tonne of yearning (like, years and years of wanting her) and i LOVED it! the lore between these two had me so invested from the start.
i could never have anticipated just HOW obsessed my guy callum was going to be but oh my god, that man was in deep, desperate and pining like it was a full time job, and honestly i would be the same for juniper ross🤷🏻♀️
their tension was SO hot i literally had to fan myself to stop blushing so much, and their banter was top tier (and it didn’t stop when they got together which is an immediate plus for me) their dynamic perfectly suited their characters in a way i can’t even articulate, they just meshed so well together and balanced and each other out.
i adored how some people might think juniper is mean but callum loved her snark, exhibit a) “that vicious little tongue made me hard as a rock” same cal, same. and he was just fully obsessed with everything about her existence. exhibit b) “i wanted to lick that fucking eyebrow.” yes, her eyebrow.
juniper was a secret sweetheart under a protective prickly exterior but that was my favourite thing about her, there’s something about a black cat fmc (who literally adopts a black cat) that immediately has me loving them, and juniper was no exception. and callum was the physical embodiment of being pathetically & hopelessly in love. he was so caring and genuine and i loved how unconditionally he loved juniper!
this was one of my most anticipated releases of this year (literally preordered it back in august i have been so desperate to read😭) and it did not disappoint! i had so much fun reading callum & junipers story and thank you to netgalley & harper collins for the arc!

After having her heart broken by one Macabe (Alistair), and being humiliated by another (Callum), Juniper Ross stays as far as she can from the brothers. But when she is forced to accept help from Callum, she learns that he loves to get a rise out of her… just because he can’t enough of her.

Scotch on the Rocks is so much fun - and off the bat it is much spicier than Whisky Business! 🥵 Callum and Juniper are a classic golden retriever x black cat combo, and their chemistry is off the charts 😮💨🔥
Juniper is Callum’s brother’s ex-fiancée… and he has been in love with her for YEARS 👏🏼 My goodness the pining is just perfection🤌🏼 and you know I love a man who is obsessed 😭 He would do absolutely anything for her (outside & inside of the bedroom 👀😮💨)
I really love the small town feel of this series - it’s something you so rarely get outside of the US romances! But Elliot captures Kinleith so perfectly 👏🏼 I am sad we didn’t get all four of their dates though, I love how she writes about Skye!
I really don’t know how I feel about the next book because so far Alistair is the worst 🫠😂 Buut I’m looking forward to his redemption arc and falling in love with him too!

4.5 ⭐️ I am sooooo in love with this series—it’s INSANE!
This book completely blew me away, and I can’t believe it’s the author’s very first traditionally published book. It wasn’t until I reached the dedications at the very end that I realized this, and it made me so happy to see an indie author absolutely crushing it and making the publishing industry their b*tch. Let’s be honest, the industry's needed a new domme for a while now lol.
The story itself is everything I could have hoped for this second time around the lovely Isle of Skye. The characters are vibrant and unforgettable, the world-building is rich and immersive, - and realistic! The romance is equal parts tender and hard, both frozen and scorching hot. It’s the kind of book that grabs you from the first page and doesn’t let go until you’ve devoured every last word. The emotional depth, the witty banter, and the sheer unadulterated need for these two to just admit their own feelings and get together! The plot comes together at the end to create something truly special, and after the roller coaster that is Callum and Juniper, I really needed it to be.
I’m so glad I got the chance to read this as an eARC because it’s one of those books that stays with you long after you’ve finished it. If you’re looking for a series that’s bold, fresh, and unapologetically addictive, trust me, this is it. The author has knocked it out of the park, and I can’t wait to see what they come up with next.
🌶️🌶️🌶️/5 - The spice is chef’s kiss — steamy, well-written, and perfectly timed. It’s the kind of heat that makes you fan yourself even when it's kinda slow-burning the sh·t out of you!

Elliot Fletcher knows how to write yearning, and she does it SO WELL. The angst, the banter, the longing. This was a five-star before I'd even picked it up, and by the time I'd read it, it'd gone up to six.

Really enjoyed this. The tension, the longing, the knowing they just need to communicate! I also loved the wee glimpses into Mal and April’s life from the previous book, it just tied it all together. It drew me in from the start and held my attention, and got me invested in the characters although the ovassional hint of Americanism pulled me out every now and again - “could care less” instead of “couldn’t”, wearing shorts in Skye in October, and the Fairy Pools being completely empty all felt a bit like an idea of the islands, rather than reality. But overall, fantastic read! Can’t wait to get my hands on a physical copy for my collection!

This is a classic he fell first book with a light enemy’s to lovers trope mixed in. Callum seems sweet but the right amount of manly and once juniper gets over herself the sparks go from flying to setting off fireworks. It was a light read so thank you NetGalley for letting me read and review.

Absolute perfection!
From the opening chapters I was absolutely gone for Callum and Juniper's dynamic. The chemistry and yearning! Callum is so far gone and out of his mind for the girl who was always meant to be his. And June is the epitome of black cat energy. She keeps her claws out, ready to defend her own heart. Everything about how their relationship played out, from the banter to the emotional healing was perfection.
What I love about Elliot Fletcher's writing is her ability to balance flawed and complex characters with intimacy that is as hot as it is emotional. I seriously don't think I will read a better Romance book this year. In fact, I guarantee that I will be re-reading via audiobook on release so I can hear Callum's words in a Scottish accent!

Thanks to Netgalley and HarperCollins UK for the opportunity to read and review "Scotch on the Rocks."

The angst and yearning in Scotch on the Rocks was *chefs kiss*. Elliot Fletcher writes romance beautifully and this was a fantastic second novel in this series. She manages to incorporate the beauty of Skye and her love for the Highlands which makes this a joy to read.

4.25 stars. The Banter. The Spice. The Yearning. The Nicknames. I am stunned.
This was my most anticipated read of the year and it did not disappoint. From the very first sentence you are hooked and invested in this story. The lore and complexity between these two characters is fantastic. Juniper is Callum's brothers ex-fiancee except he (Callum) is in love with her from the moment he laid eye on her...stunning. Now years later they are living in the same small village…I am sat.
The relationship that these two have throughout the book is one I don't read about often. They are constantly bantering and jabbing at each other while communicating. It's their own language they have developed to tolerate their attraction and it is done so well. This dynamic can be hit or miss for me but it hit so hard in this book. The attraction between these two starts instantly and was executed perfectly/integrated so smoothly. However, you are held in a chokehold with their tension waiting for spice. When you do get to the spice you will need to prepare yourself as I was stunned speechless in the best way. The yearning jumped off the page as Callum is so down bad and pathetic for Juniper - it’s delightful.
There were also some complicated family dynamics within the story outside of Callums brother with Callum’s father. Sometimes I find family drama to be an afterthought but it was very well plotted/integrated in this story. Juniper also goes through a lot of growth within her self/ with trusting people. It was really lovely to watch from start to finish. There is drama throughout the story…I mean who is surprised its his brothers ex fiancee. However, while intense at times, it made perfect sense for the characters and the story when I took a step back to reflect (especially towards the end).
I loved being back on the Isle of Sky and you will be fed with April and Mal cameos - they are the sweetest and I was so happy to see them again. The Isle is just as stunning as ever and we get to experience even more locations from town shops to remote waterfalls. As if my urge to visit Scotland wasn’t already high enough.
Elliot Fletchers writing pulls you in and keeps you engaged. Her descriptions of the characters, their thoughts and the setting are so lush. She gets you to care so deeply for the characters and you will find yourself giggling, swooning, sweating and fighting to urge to throw a shoe a particular towns person. Her writing is truly some of my favourite and my Kindle is EXHAUSTED from the amount of highlighting I did. I highlighted full pages of dialogue I was obsessed with, funny quips and setting descriptions. Her writing is so beautiful.
I had the most wonderful reading experience with this story, these characters and Elliots writing. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!! I absolutely loved this book and in all honestly, cannot find anything I didn't like.
Take grumpy black cat Juniper and sunshine golden retriever Callum and what do you get!? a hilarious romance novel with lovable characters. The writing was addictive, the plot was great and as someone who is Scottish, I just loved every moment of all the little dates. I can't put how much I loved this into words properly but it was incredible.

I ADORED Whiskey Business and I always get nervous when an author reaches their sophomore book. Elliot Fletcher DID NOT DISAPPOINT! From the very first chapter, I knew I was going to love this book just like I did the first one. The chemistry, tension, and banter between Callum and Juniper is unmatched from most any other book I've read. It's done so well and so beautifully, I want to read it all over again. The spicy scenes were soooooo spicy and so worth the wait.
I can't wait for Alistair's (and I'm assuming Heather's???) books!!!!!
Tropes:
- black cat x golden retriever
- he falls first
- sorta forbidden but definitely secret romance
- ex's brother
- banter... SO MUCH BANTER
- open door spice and boy is it SPICY
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The easiest 5 stars.
If you thought the front cover was hot, just wait till you see what's inside
ELLIOT FLETCHER
From the very first chapter I just knew this book was going to be a banger. The tension and chemistry between Callum and Juniper was off the charts from the first pages and it only got better as the book went on.
Juniper is a classic black cat character and Callum a super hot, hilariously funny golden retriever. He is down so bad for June and has been for years. except she's his brother's ex fiance! That hasn't stopped him pinning for her for years and doing anything to get a reaction out of her and wow did that make for some intense chemistry!!
Juniper makes him WORK for it and he is not afraid of a challenge I genuinely don't really know what to say about this book because I loved it all - the characters personal storylines had me so emosh, the chemistry was second to none, the humour was spot on and had me giggling so often. I can't say enough good things about it. I thought I loved April & Mal (Whiskey Business) but this pair are new faves!
I know it's only the beginning of March but this book will be hard to beat! It is top tier romance and I will not shut up about it!!

I loved this second book so much!! The reverse grumpy sunshine trope was done so well. There is so much depth to the characters and you can’t help but fall in love with them both. Thoroughly enjoying this series!!

Super steamy and a fab read! I enjoyed book one a bit more than this, mostly because it didn’t feel like much happened in this book? There wasn’t much of an emotional rollercoaster or any will-they won’t-they tension bc they were both clearly gone for each other.
So yeah, good and well written but missing a spark that Whisky Business had.

The Macabe rule book is simple. Don’t look at a Macabe brother. Don’t talk to a Macabe brother. Don’t even think about a Macabe brother. Should be easy considering one is dating her best friend and another is her ex fiancé. The only one left is Callum, the gorgeous small town hero she can’t seem to stay away from.
I like the characters, they’re well developed, relatable and have historical together. Rooting for them is easy. There’s plenty of fun banter and the more you read the steamier it gets. Other highlights for me were Shakespeare the, Callums family drama and the setting. Scotland sounds absolutely gorgeous.
In my opinion it dragged a bit in the beginning, lots of similar conventions and back and forth. However the pace picks up the more you read.
This is such a fun series, love the covers and fun titles. I’m hoping Heather the Macabe sister will get her own novel.
