It was lovely to be back at Feywood and with the Carlisle sisters in this second book in what I'm guessing will be a trilogy!
This time we have Frankie as the main character, and she is the one I probably knew the least after the previous book, but she is back at the house and nursing a heartbreak while also suffering low self confidence and feels like she needs to move her life in a new direction.
And it just so happens Rousseau has come up with a plan for her, and gets Nathan to start working there, to help get the gardens under control and he volunteers Frankie to assist.
Frankie like all the family seem to be excellent at whatever creative pursuit they turn their hands to, and it was great to see her start to have a real love of gardening and garden design.
And she has a good heart, as when she sees there is a pair of peacocks looking for a new home, she is first in line to offer to take them in at Feywood, much to the amusement of, but with the support of everyone else!
I found it hard to properly connect to Nathan, we had chapters from his point of view, and although things were alluded to in the past, I felt as though I would have perhaps like a bit more time spent on them, to really get a feel for how his childhood has shaped his career decisions.
With some of the story taking place in Tuscany too, this is a lovely summery read, and I am absolutely adoring this series and the family at the heart of it. And I'm very eager to see Martha's story in the next book and whether she will be given the romance that has been hinted at it the first two books!
Thank you to Storm Publishing and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Frankie is burnt from her most recent lifestyle in London, which had sent her spiriling and back to her home Feywood to recuperate. Nathan is a renowned garden designer but has taken an approach of a well-ordered, no-nonsense life along with curbing his creativity as a result of his rather tumultuous upbringing.
When they meet, there's attraction. but their personalities are far apart, with each of them questioning and doubting if the other will like them. Is he too dull for her??? she's too flighty for him???
But events come to head, and they will have to work out how to compromise and build a life that they can live together.
I listened to the book, and I liked the narration, the pacing, and the characters.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for sending me a copy of this book to review.
This was a fun chick lit novel, and I enjoyed it a lot. I am looking forward to reading more by this author.

Going into "Escape to the Country Garden" by Hannah Langdon, I wasn’t sure what to expect since I hadn’t read the first book in The Feywood Sisters collection. Thankfully, this second installment works well as a standalone, though I imagine those familiar with Book 1 might appreciate some nuances more deeply.
The story follows Frankie Carlisle as she returns home to Feywood, her family's centuries old manor, after a bad breakup, seeking comfort from her sisters and her family. What I particularly enjoyed was the blend of heartfelt emotion and lighthearted humor. The book touches on themes of self-discovery, second chances, and the importance of home, without feeling too heavy. I did occasionally strugglw with feeling like I was missing some context, likely due to not having read the first book. While the story stands on its own, there were moments when I wished for a bit more background on certain relationships or past events. It wasn’t enough to take away from my enjoyment, but I imagine returning readers might connect with the story on a deeper level.
Overall, "Escape to the Country Garden" is a delightful, cozy read perfect for those who love small-town settings, charming characters, and a touch of romance. If you’re in the mood for a feel-good story with heart, this one is worth picking up—though if you can, I’d recommend starting with Book 1 for the full experience.

Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for an advanced copy of Escape To The Country Garden.
I really struggled with this book. The premise seemed very cute but right from the start the characters were hard to get on board with and seemed very confused. I tried several times to pick it up and give it another try, but after only making it 21% I ended up DNFing, which I particularly hate to do with ARC reads.
I found that rather than being immersed in the story, I was being told about it which ruined some of the reading magic.
I hadn’t read the first book in the series which maybe would have helped but I just don’t think this is a writing style for me.

I have never read anything by this author, but I will be looking out for other books they write in the future. I really enjoyed the story as well as the pacing of the story.

Following on from the previous book in this series Escape to the Country Kitchen we meet the sister's again at the family home (Feywood) trying to sort out both their lives and feelings. Frankie has had enough of living in London and has just returned home without her boyfriend. Older sister Martha and younger sister Juliet are still living at Feywood.
First impressions when newly appointed garden designer Nathan meets Frankie are hilarious, she is skipping along to music in just a towel, and she is supposed to be working alongside him! Will this work out?
Soon they are working happily side by side on getting the orangery restored back to its previous life as a grand building with lots of plants. Frankie was soon enjoying working out the design using garden design software on the computer. But is there an attraction between Frankie and Nathan, or will his work be done and he will go quickly back to Italy?
Certainly Frankie seems to enjoy the attention he gives her, both personally and work related. It's not long though before she wants them to be more than just friends, but is it the right time? After a quick trip to visit his brother and family in Italy, Frankie is quickly realising that she wants them to be more than just friends and working colleagues, but things don't always go to plan.
A warm and friendly welcome awaits you as you read through this book, although it is book two in the series, you don't need to have read the first book to be drawn into the storyline. Yes it does help with discovering the family characters and secrets but you soon pick up the thread of the story. I thought it was great to meet all the characters again and hope there are more stories about the Feywood sister's to come in the future.
A five-star read from me.

Thank you to Netgalley and Storm Publishing for an early copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This was such a cute book. I really enjoyed it. Loved the storyline and all the characters. I would definitely recommend this book.

At first it might seem that a novel set in a country house full of artists would be a bit boring. But then the story took off and I really enjoyed how Frankie got excited about improving the garden and the orangery. I liked that the family worked together to figure out how to take care of the decrepit, 400-year-old mansion, whose roof began to leak and repairs are expensive. How to open Feywood to the public. But also how to help sick aunt.
It was lovable, but there was also a romantic line with great chemistry between Frankie and Nathan. I really enjoyed that and can't wait for Martha's and Will's story.
Thank you very much to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the eARC.

This is book two of the Feywood sisters series and to be honest it would be fine as a stand alone but to get a full picture of the story and what is going on the first is well worth the read.
Hannah Langdon has very quickly become a must read author for me as i so love the cosy and safe vibe that her books give me, it may sound cliche but they really are like a big warm hug!
This is the story of Frankie who returns home with a broken heart and so to try and help her find her way again her father tells her to help restore the gardens at the manor. Enter Nathan who is to be her teacher and is a very good gardener as well. They work together on the garden and on helping Frankie heal.
Such a wonderful slow burn story highly recommend!

This is the second book from this series and although its not imperative that you read the first one, I personally think it would be beneficial. The main setting for this book is a crumbling, but much loved manor house in desperate need of repair. The series follows the lives of a group of sisters and this time we follow Frankies story as she returns back home to try and heal a broken heart and find herself again. I love this series and this family. I love this author and her style of writing. Definitely one I recommend to add to you tbr pile. Thanks netgalley and publishers for allowing me a copy of this book.

3.25 ⭐ Cozy setting, slow burn 🌿✨ Loved the garden restoration and Italy trip 🇮🇹 But too many characters in the beginning that made it difficult to get into, and the romance felt distant—more personal struggles than chemistry. Happy ending, but just okay!
Thank you to Netgalley for this ARC.

Escape to the Country Garden
by Hannah Langdon
This concept seemed charming and had a lot of potential, but it ultimately didn't resonate with me as I had hoped. It felt like not much happened in the story, and the romance was such a slow burn that it nearly fizzled out before it truly began. I haven't read the first book, so I may have missed some context from it. There were a lot of characters and locations to keep track of, and the story started slowly. I must admit that I skimmed through the second half up to the final chapter.
This one was not for me but I am sure many others will love it.

Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.
I loved this book, the second in the series.
After her relationship ends and her career isn’t going to top well, her reputation isn’t that good either, and so Frankie comes back home.
Not knowing what to do next, her father tries to cheer her up and gives her a chance to use her creativity in working on the garden. He also advises her that Nathan is coming to live with them and she will be working with him.
Nathan loves working with Green spaces and creating beautiful spaces for companies and the general public.
Frankie is enjoying working with him, and her outlook on her life begins to change. She made you laugh and cry.
I loved all the beautiful descriptions of the gardens and flowers/plants.
It was lovely to catch up with the rest of the family too.
I highly recommend this book.

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC!
This sounded cute and promising, but just did not do it for me. It felt like nothing much happened in the story-- there was very little plot. The writing was a lot of "tell" instead of "show" and there were a lot of superfluous adjectives added to descriptions which took me out of the story. I felt like the characters were very one-dimensional as well. I didn't dislike any of them, but they were not very interesting or fleshed out. It was a fine story, with a happy ending, but it wasn't my cup of tea.

This is a sweet and simple English countryside romance. The manor house, Feywood, was a charming setting, and I loved the quirkiness of the Carlisle family. The animals, especially Aslan, were cute additions as well! I did find some of the dialogue unnatural, and the chemistry between Frankie and Nathan lacking until about 50%. They didn’t seem very compatible, but they complimented each other by the end. I don’t think reading the first book is necessary before this one, but it might help you feel more connected to these characters. All in all, this fell a little flat for me, but I didn’t despise it.

1⭐️ Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for an advanced copy of Escape To The Country Garden.
Frankie had returned home to her family’s manor that is kind of coming apart at the seams after yet another horrible breakup. Her sisters try to comfort her but she is so mad at why these things keep happening to her. Then she meets a man that arrives at her family’s manor and he may be just what she had been looking for.
This book was just way too cheesy and predictable for me. Also instead of reading about how things were unfolding in the book there was a lot of “telling” instead of descriptions about the events. I was not a fan.

I had not read the previous book in the Feywood Sisters series, but after reading 'Escape to the Country Garden' I would now look out for it. Following a bad break up, Frankie Carlisle returns home to her family home in the country. Part of an artistic family, she is also looking for a new direction with her art. Her father has employed a landscape gardener to help restore some of the gardens. However, impulsive Frankie has always had a strong connection to the gardens and is finding it difficult to let a stranger into her home. A lovely, warm story, I read it over one weekend and would recommend to fans of Sarah Bennet, Heidi Swain and Bella Osborne.

Gardens, artists, Tuscany, Oxfordshire, golden retriever, peacocks, old houses being revitalised, this book is a delightful blend of so many elements that I love. Frankie’s journey to self awareness is sensitively and believably handled. Well written and i thoroughly loved it. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I really couldn't get into this book. I tried several times to pick it up and give it another try, but after only making it 21% in a month, I just don’t think it’s for me. The characters felt forced and inauthentic, and the dialogue was very cringey.
