At the beginning of Everyone is Lying I had serious doubts that I would enjoy the style of writing, it was overly elaborate and there were too many unnecessary comments and descriptions about hair length. How could Alexandra (Lexy) and Harlan own a luxury period townhouse in Brighton financed from a uniformed policeman's salary and her cosmetic business. However my main bugbear was Lexy remaining in Brighton after witnessing a crime which put her life in danger. A normal instinct would be to move far, far away.
Twenty years ago Lexy had financed her degree course by organising Matthew's parties where she'd seen bags stuffed full of money, hard drugs and alcohol were plentiful and young girls invited especially for the wealthy clients. I assumed that Lexy had been an escort or call girl. No, the author wanted the reader to believe that Lexy was simply a hostess and bartender at the parties, and employed by Matthew for her organisation skills. Ha, tell that to the judge. At one party, 'her skirt was so short it showed her knickers when she bent over' and young girls were supplied for the 'amusement' of the older men.
Trying to ignore all the flying hair, the unexplained extreme wealth and the person who committed the original crimes never reoffending, I continued reading just to discover the what, where, when and how.
An OK read, the plot's a bit far fetched and shouldn't be taken too seriously.
With thanks to Storm Publishing and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book, this review is my personal, unbiased opinion.

I liked the story idea of this book, but the execution felt a bit short. The story started slow but picked up in pace. I wasn't thrilled by the amount of information that wasn't necessary and it took me out of the story. The story itself was very predictable to me, but I am a fanatic reader of thrillers, so for a person just starting, this might be okay. Another thing that annoyed the living peeps out of me were the main characters. Gosh…they are definitely not likeable, which doesn't work for me as I can’t relate to them. That said, I do believe this will be a nice read for people just starting out in the Thriller genre. It was an okay read, but not something special for me.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you, NetGalley, and Storm Publishing for this copy.

Everyone is Lying by D E White
First time read for me by this author , and I enjoyed it.
Lots of twists to keep you reading Alexandra has a husband and children , a lovely home and great people around her .
One day she finds a paper bird and it takes her back to 20 years ago.
Maybe someone close,to her has put it there and knows what she was involved in.
Good.

This was a well written book and I can’t quite put my finger on why I didn’t enjoy it much, but I didn’t. I couldn’t warm to any of the characters and I didn’t find the story gripping or exciting. At times it seemed to just drag on and get nowhere. I persevered right to the end but was glad when I’d finished reading. I’m sure lots of readers will love this but it just wasn’t for me I’m afraid. Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read and review.

Everybody is trying to be someone else and hiding their past from each other, however when a wannabe politician sets up his old friend, things begin to unravel and we realise that everybody is lying to save their own skins. But just who can we believe. ? Lots of twists and turns in the story so the reader isn't quite sure who is being truthful and who might not be. Good pace to make you keep turning the pages to find out the absolute truth.
Thanks to Netgalley/Storm for the ARC to review

Another wonderful twisty tale by DE White.
Alexandra seems to have it all, a husband, children, a nice house, friends and a business that is doing well, but then she finds an origami bird and she is taken back to an evening twenty years earlier….
The title is very apt, everyone is lying! Just who can you trust in this book. Alexandra’s life is not necessarily how it seems, maybe even her perfect husband isn’t quite as perfect as he seems!
The character development is great throughout this book and it’s told in such a way that it will keep you guessing until the end.
I like how the flashbacks are incorporated into the chapters.
I do love a book that captivates you straight away and keeps you intrigued until the end. Definitely one to pick up if you like suspense!

I’ve always enjoyed everything written by this author, and this is no exception. So many twist and turns and a lot of characters that you love to hate!

"Everyone is Lying" by D.E. White was a book that keeps you guessing right to the very end. This book was fast paced and had many turns that you don't see coming.
Alexandria has the life she always wanted. But with one envelope her whole life gets tossed upside down. Her past is starting to come to the present and has the ability to derail everything she has worked so hard for. As she tries to keep her family safe and fight her past, her husband has secrets of his own.
Highly recommend for those that like psychological thrillers.

To be honest, I took on reading this book not really knowing what to expect, and yet I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would!
I was intrigued by Alexandra's history, as it portrayed not only the glamour anda luxury of her past life, but also the dark and scary sides of the work. Although at times, some stylistic choices broke the flow for me, the story was still exciting enough to keep me up for 'just one more chapter'
I would definitely recommend the novel to lovers of mystery and thrillers!
Thank you NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the ARC!

When Alexandra is called for jury service her past comes back to haunt her. A past that she thought she had moved on from now that she had a new name and new life with her policeman husband. Is she being followed? Has her mum been contacted in her dementia home by a man from her past? This story flits from a past with 'the candy girls' to the present day. WIth her new life and possibly, her children, at stake Alexandra needs to juggle what she has to do with certain past information for her own and families safety.
I enjoyed this story for the most part although there were times when I found myself disengaging. Still a good recommendation for thriller fans.

Everyone is Lying was a thrilling ride from start to finish. Alexandra’s seemingly perfect life was turned upside down the moment that origami bird appeared, and I couldn’t help but feel her anxiety as she realized the past was catching up with her. The mystery surrounding the death of the three girls and the secret Alexandra’s been keeping for years was intense, and I was hooked as the pieces started to fall into place. The way the story unfolds, revealing the power dynamics at play and the lengths people will go to protect their secrets, kept me guessing. I really enjoyed how the tension built, and Alexandra’s complex character made the story all the more compelling. A solid four stars—suspenseful, engaging, and full of twists I didn’t see coming.

Everyone knows the way you keep secrets. Those secrets have a way of catching up to you. Alexandra was a very successful businesswoman. She was married to Harlan a police officer and had two beautiful children. The only problem was Alexandra was hiding a secret a secret that she kept buried for years. She was a Candy Girl years ago, and after a night of partying and murder Alexandra knew she had to turn her life around and forget her her past discretions.
Her life had been wonderful. She just understand out of the blue an origami bird shows up on her doorstep. Reminds her of the friends she left behind and the terrible things she saw that last night of her life. She tries very hard to forget about the bird until she has to serve a jury that includes one of the men from her past. As her life starts to spin out of control, her long lost brother shows up, some men from the past show up and a high up-and-coming politician tries to come in and shut this whole thing down as he tries to keep his dirty little secret. how is Alexandra going to save her marriage her family and her life without having all of her past come to light.
I enjoyed this first time read from this author. I found it interesting with the twists. The book just wasn’t about Alexandra it encompassed not only her life., but the life of her friends who she thought were all gone, and it shows you what people in politics would do to keep themselves on top even if it hurts somebody else. One thing I liked about the writing of the story was that Alexandra wasn’t the only one keeping secrets Harlan, her husband had a story of his own which really made you wonder what people would do for money. Really the only negative thing I can say about this book is that I wish it wasn’t so much back-and-forth because sometimes I did get a little confused about what time period we were in. I liked Alexandra and her determination to get rid of her past once and for all and to try to pick up the pieces of our shattered life after the fallout. I would read other books by author. I liked her writing style and she kept my interest. I would recommend this book to anyone who liked a real thriller.. So thank you NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the ARC.

I was excited for this one the premise was very intriguing. Unfortunately, it did not work for me at all. I was bored, the characters didn't work for me at all, I just wasn't able to continue. I had to DNF.

I did not love this book. It is well-written but there are some timeline inaccuracies that made it hard for me to focus. I also did not find the story all that gripping.

This book was a page-turning quick read that gripped my attention and took me on a ride with main character Alexandra/Alex/Lexy/Birdie. The characters were well developed and relatable and the storyline twisted between past and present as it uncovered secrets and lies.

Packed with tension, this psychological thriller will keep you turning the pages fast.
Loved the creepiness and the suspense, buried secrets coming to light, entertaining, and so good!
Thank you so much Storm Publishing and D.E. White for the eARC in exchange for a honest review.
Highly recommend.

When Alexandra was a student she lived with her friend Lana. Something happened at a party 20years ago. Alexandra buried the events to move forward with her life. She finished her degree, got married and had 2 children and started her own business. She happily married and enjoying the life she as built. Then she called up for Judy service.
Loved this book from start to finish.

mysterious and thrilling. totally had me on the edge of the seat the entire time. couldn't put this one down!!!!

Alexandra is an aesthetics practitioner. She has it all: a successful business, a townhouse in Brighton, a husband, and two children. However, she also has a secret past, and someone is keen to remind her of it. When she is assigned jury duty, she finds herself on a murder case and believes she recognizes the defendant from her past, but it brings back so many memories that she has trouble staying in the present! I found this story interesting, especially since it revolves around a woman with a past that could ruin everything she has created for herself if the truth is revealed. It's a good psychological thriller that will keep you invested, with an interesting twist at the end that you won't see coming.

D. E. White's Everyone Is Lying is an engrossing psychological thriller that effortlessly pulls readers into a web of deceit, tension, and intrigue. From the very first page, the reader is introduced to Alexandra, a woman seemingly living the perfect life. She has a successful business, a loving husband, and two beautiful children. But lurking beneath her idyllic existence is a dark secret from her past—one that has the potential to shatter everything she’s built.
The story takes a thrilling turn when Alexandra finds a perfectly folded origami bird on her kitchen table one morning. This is not just a harmless ornament; it’s a message. Only four people knew Alexandra’s nickname—Birdie—and one of them was dead. This enigmatic bird sends her spiralling back to the night that changed her life forever. Years ago, at an exclusive party, three girls died, and Alexandra fled with a secret that could ruin some of the most powerful men in the country. Now, someone is closing in on her, determined to expose the truth.
What follows is a tense cat-and-mouse game, where every corner of Alexandra’s world feels compromised. The bird is more than just a reminder—it’s a warning. Someone knows what happened that night, and they will stop at nothing to keep Alexandra quiet.
While Everyone Is Lying might not follow the typical blueprint of a psychological thriller, it still keeps readers on the edge of their seats. White masterfully builds suspense, offering both expected and unexpected twists that will keep you guessing until the final pages. There is a satisfying balance between predictability and surprise, making it a book you’ll find hard to put down.
This gripping story, laced with psychological tension and moral dilemmas, is a must-read for fans of thrillers who enjoy complex characters and a narrative that challenges the boundaries of trust and truth. D. E. White delivers a captivating tale that will leave you questioning who you can trust.
If you’re looking for a book that will keep you up at night, Everyone Is Lying is the one to pick up. Don’t miss out on this thrilling ride of suspense and intrigue.
