After being called to jury service, busy mum, wife and successful business woman Alexandra is aware that someone has knowledge of her not so genteel past. The discovery of origami birds and someone calling her Birdie, an old nickname, has rekindled all her secrets and the experiences she underwent over twenty years ago. After being sworn in on the jury panel Alexandra realises that the accused is none other than an old ‘acquaintance’ and she knows that the coincidences she has been experiencing are not all in her imagination.
A slow burn of a book with much repetition. Not a page turner, and I struggled to remain focused on the plot. When I’m easily distracted I know I’m just going through the motions of reading.
For me it was very much just an ok read, though it would be perfect for dipping into on holiday. With apologies to the author, but not one I really enjoyed.
Thank you NetGalley and Storm Publishing.
