This is a story about four friends who reunite for one of their landmark birthdays only to have things go seriously pear shaped.
For one thing, they are living very different lights from each other - from the erotica writer to the yoga entrepreneur. For another, they are about to blow the lid off some fairly major secrets, the fallout of which is likely to be volatile...
This is an enjoyable read, where the author addresses a familiar trope, but delivers some original storytelling with it. It gets 3.5 stars.

Mori, Avery, Remi and Calista are four life long friends who have met up to celebrate Claistas birthday.
This book is a good read, it reads like a tv drama and is telling th story of the secrets the four women have and the lies they tell to keep them
It is a pacy read and although at times the story kind of mis-steps in the details I really enjoyed my reading time.
This would make the perfect holiday read..

"Lie in the Tide" by Holly Danvers is a solid suspense thriller set on Cape Cod, exploring the impact and consequences of white lies on relationships. I love the reunion gone wrong trope, so I had high hopes for this book. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to my expectations.
The story follows four friends reuniting after 20 years apart: Mori, the hostess and a bestselling erotica author; Calista, a suburban mom and high school English teacher; Remi, a yoga instructor; and Avery, a farm wife living in Iowa. They all have secrets - some more serious than others. The plot thickens when one of them fails to arrive at the reunion, leaving no trace behind. As the friends try to uncover what happened, tensions rise, secrets unravel, and then - there’s a murder.
This is a book about secrets and lies. At times, I felt there were simply too many. While the story delves deep into the characters' mindsets, I struggled to connect with any of them or the foolish decisions they made. Some of their actions left me raising a brow, as they didn’t always make sense. And their constant arguments were exhausting, to say the least.
That said, I appreciated the attention to detail in the characters' interactions and inner thoughts. The writing itself was strong - the emotions leapt off the page. However, this also slowed the pacing at times. I wasn’t fully engaged or eager to see what would happen next.
Overall, it was an okay read. It started off really well, but eventually lost momentum. The mystery itself was predictable and didn’t keep me guessing, though the twist at the end did manage to surprise me. The identity of the villain was obvious (at least to me), and I found it unrealistic that they weren't on the suspect list.
That being said, I still enjoyed the book to some extent, so I’m giving it 3 out of 5 stars. The twist at the end made up for some of the flaws. I’d recommend it to readers who don’t mind a slow-paced story and are new to the genre.
* Thank you NetGalley and (publisher) for the opportunity to read this arc. All opinions are my own.

“Lie in the Tide” by Holly Danvers, completely blew me away! From the very first page, I was hooked and couldn’t put it down. The twists kept me guessing the whole way through, and just when I thought I had it figured out, it completely flipped everything on me. I found myself speculating and second-guessing at every turn, and by the time I reached the end, I was totally shaken. It’s one of those books that grabs you from the start and doesn’t let go—definitely a thrilling, must-read!

I was initially intrigued by the blurb.
I expected a witty, catty, backstabbing Desperate Housewives kind of popcorn thriller but what I saw instead, was a slow, overly descriptive tangle of awkward, cringey dialogue with no flow.
I didn’t care for or about what happened to any of the characters.
Thanks to NetGalley and Severn House for the advance digital copy.

A thriller set on Cape Cod, one of the most beautiful places in the world? Yes please!!
Holly Danvers invites us to the beach and a reunion of childhood friends with Lie In The Tide.
After twenty years, four childhood friends plan a reunion on one of the beautiful beaches of Cape Cod. Three make it there, one does not. When a body is found, the three remaining friends are bound and determined to find the truth about what happened to their friend.
Full of secrets, lies, deceit, twists and turns, this book is packed with action. The ending was so unexpected, I had to reread it again. This is a fast paced read and grips you from the start. This was my first book by Holly Danvers and I really enjoyed it. I look forward to her next. I highly recommend this book.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. A quick read with a fun plot. The writing was a bit forced, but all in all not a bad book.

this was a good book! I like the way this story flowed, and how the characters were suspicious and the different perspectives to see they way they turn on each other, so good! It was definitely an entertaining read!!!
Thank you to NetGalley, to the author, and to the publisher for this complimentary ARC in exchange for my honest review!!!

A thriller set by the shore, sign me up! Lie in the Tide by Holly Danvers was a good book that kept me going until the end.

This was a sluggish read for me and I did enjoy the premise, it just felt like there were too many connections and some was just far too unrealistic. Tampering with evidence would not have gone unpunished, especially given the circumstances. I do like the twist at the very end. Overall, not an awful read, just took a bit to get through.

Four friends on a reunion vacation after not having seen each other in 20 years. One of them winds up dead. All four friends, each living drastically different lives, are hiding varying degrees of secrets from one another. Secrets that are exposed one by one. A thriller for those who enjoy a classic "who dunnit".
What I liked: The book was incredibly easy to read (think: beach read)! The ending had a turn I was neither expecting nor could quite believe!
What I didn't like: I found the characters hard to relate to, which made it difficult to truly invest in them.
Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to read and review this book!

I was intrigued by the synopsis for Lie in the Tide. Four friends plan to reunite after 20 years apart but one of them doesn't show up...what happened?? Unfortunately, I struggled with getting into it. A lot of the dialogue seemed forced and none of the characters were terribly likeable. However, I'll give it a solid 3 stars because the ending did catch me off guard!

Four friends plan to reconnect in Cape Cad after twenty years apart. Remi, Mori and Avery arrive but Calista is a no show. After trying repeatedly to track her down, the others become increasingly worried, rightfully so when Calista shows up dead on the beach. What follows is and intricate, and dangerous search leaving the three friends on uneven footing. Who killed Calista, and why?
I tried mightily to get into this book as the plot sounded interesting, but alas, I just didn’t like it. Unfortunately, author Holly Danvers does not follow the rule of show, don’t tell, often overnarrating characters’ inner dialogue. At times their speech tends to veer too heavily into cheesy soap opera dialogue. All in all a decidedly average books 2.75 stars rounded to 3.
I received this advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review and feedback.

Thank you NetGalley and Holly Danvers of this ARC of Lie in the Tide!
I found this to be a quick and easy read. I’m personally not a fan typically of 3rd person POVs, so if there was anything I would change it would be that. I am a huge fan of the multiple POVs however, and enjoyed it within this book. I didn’t know what to expect after the first 10% of this book, but once together the flow felt more natural, and I had audible gasps from some of the betrayal and twists.
This is definitely perfect for the summer time and anyone wanting to dabble in thrillers for the first time. I’ll definitely be looking out for more Holly Danvers books in the future!

Lie in the Tide by Holly Danvers is a gripping suspenseful novel about friendship, nostalgia, and the secrets that time cannot erase. The story follows 4 women- Calista, Mori, Avery and Remi who were inseparable in high school but drifted apart over the years. When they reconnect on social media they decide to reunite at Mori’s house on the Cape hoping to rekindle old bonds. When one of them never arrives what was meant to be a heartwarming gathering turns into a nerve-wracking mystery.
The novel is packed with twists and turns that kept me flipping pages late into the night. The author does a fantastic job of building tension while also developing the women's deep-rooted friendship.
As the story unfolds, we get to know each character intimately and their camaraderie feels natural as if no time has passed. Their shared history, secrets and personal struggles make them feel real and relatable. What I loved most was the emotional depth of the novel. It is not just about solving the mystery of the missing friend it's about the past and how it shapes us, the complexities of adult friendships and the things left unsaid.
The ending left me with some lingering questions but overall, I found it satisfying. If you enjoy character driven thrillers with strong emotional core this is a must read, it's the kind of book that will stay with you long after you turn the final page.
Thank you to Netgalley, Holly Danvers and Severn House for an advanced copy of this novel.

The story follows four friends reuniting after twenty years, who each have their own secrets. One friend never makes it to the reunion and the others work to find out what happened. There is betrayal, suspicion and lies unraveled. The story is captivating and has some twists even when it seems predictable. This is the first I've read by Holly Danver and I really enjoyed it. Thanks NetGalley for the ARC.

I didn't even want to finish it, I disliked it so much. The whole plot was unrealistic, I didn't like any of the characters, and I found the writing to be subpar. Disappointing because the premise made it sound like a book I would really enjoy! I rarely give 1 stars, but sadly, this was one of those books.

This book was a really good slow burn that grabbed my attention the whole time. I really got into the area, characters and relationships without feeling it was bogged down in description which I adore.

This is gonna be one great summer read. I was captured by the first chapter. Definitely a roller coaster of emotions. The twist this author puts you through MIND BLOWN!

I will never attend any kind of reunion with people I haven’t seen for many years. I read enough books that I know that it never turns out well!
Mori, Avery, Remi, and Calista are meeting at a beautiful house on Cape Cod. They are planning to catch up and celebrate Calista’s birthday. But things go wrong when Calista, who was supposed to arrive the day after the others, does not show up. A call to her husband provides no answers and soon the police are involved. As the story progressed, we learn about these women’s secrets and lies, and there were enough between them to fill the ocean.
I’m just going to say that the guilty party/parties did not surprise me. However, the ending pulled the rug out from under me. I never saw it coming!
