I didn't know what to think of this. But I chose it because it was vastly different to my norm. And I wasn't sure how it would handle the storyline. And it fulfilled being unapologetically different which was great. I thought Sage would annoy me because dknt we all just want to stay and sit on a beach feeling the sun? But that's not life right? But it mashed together a gripping read alongside depth, intriguing and thought provoking moments. And I found myself feeling sorry for Sage at points. His decision seemed easy but was it really? From the outside yes don't get involved Sage! But then you hear the tale, follow him and you find yourself being just as instilled in the story and what happens next as he is. And how tempting it can feel to have that end sum that will.make all your troubles go away. Except it never would would it. Sometimes the action is too much of a price to pay...

Set in beautiful Bali this is a book that I really enjoyed.
The main character Sage is newly divorced and with limited funds he just wants to drink, sit in the beach sort his head out and return home.
He gets involved in drug smuggling and his life changes dramatically, caused not only by the drugs but also by the people he meets.
This is an intense and fabulous book. I loved the drama and how the story unfolded.
really quite good..
